Good punch on stock power

Fit fine in my 2022 4Runner. Sound is a great improvement. The brackets do take some careful lining up, and a little flexing to make fit, but you'll get it, they don't crack.

Like the new sound
Eric from Pflugerville, TX on 6/16/2025
Install in 2008 Toyota 4Runner was pretty easy. I am not great at soldering, but did it to use original harness for the tweeter. Drilled a small hole in the woofer housing for the wiring harness. They do sound much better than the factory speakers I had.

PowerBass OE69C-TY
Paul from Houston, TX on 6/4/2025
2012 Toyota Tacoma
These speakers (woofer only, didn't install the tweeter) fit the front doors of a 2012 Tacoma Double Cab SR5 PreRunner ok. Only issue is that the electrical connector is on the small end of the speaker where the original is on the top towards the window in the door. This made the reach of the existing harness not work adn I didn't trust the "jumper" cable that comes with the speakers to stay attached to the electrical connectors. So had to remove all the electrical tape wrap around the door harness to give just barely enough length on driver side door to plug in the connector. Passenger side the plug is on the other end and little easier to reach with existing harness (less tape to take off). That's why I gave it 4 stars only. Definitely sound better than original speakers!

I installed these speakers in my 2015 Toyota Prius and they sound great! As one previous reviewer mentioned the mounting holes for the door speakers don't quite line up with the mounting holes in the door but I already had my drill out anyway to drill out the old pop rivets so it was no big deal.

for being direct plug and play they work fairly good . clean bass decent sound . tweeters are not plug and play but very simple to install .
Pros: sounds amazingly good
Cons: they could have invested more time in a 100% plug and play not everyone is good with even simple wiring .

Incorrect wiring harness for tweeters
Erich from Spokane, WA on 3/28/2025
2008 Toyota Tundra
The wiring harness that ships for the tweeters is not the correct wiring harness for my vehicle (2008 Tundra Double Cab no JBL no Nav). The quality of the speakers is an upgrade over OEM and fitment is good, but for this to be advertised as plug and play is misleading, as I had to solder the old tweeter's wiring harness to the new tweeter to plug it into the truck.
Pros: Quality and fitment are good
Cons: Tweeters do not ship with correct wiring harness.

Woofers fit easily and sound good. Tweeters required cutting. Both tweeters squeal no matter how I wired them up. I have a 4 channel amp (60x4 RMS Alpine) powering them through factory wires. Don't know if this makes a difference.

They sounds decent and the construction is good but the holes don't match up and need to be re-drilled otherwise would get 5 stars. Could use an amplifier, stock head unit doesn't do them justice.

2008 Highlander front door GOOD
Kevin from Grand Junction, CO on 9/24/2024
2008 Toyota Highlander
2008 Toyota Highlander, Front door speaker replacement. PowerBass OE69C-ty, Great fit and sound, running right off of the original factory head unit. I only used the woofers, I did not install the Powerbass tweeters. The mounting holes on the PowerBass woofers did not line up with the factory, however the mounting plate is plastic and it was easy to put screws right through it into the factory mounts. The powerbass baffle plate fit quite well in both doors and the depth was clear both for the window and door panel. We had regular the factory stereo system NOT JBL: The original factory stereo sounded great, but over time the speakers wore out. Back in the day I worked at a car stereo shop, and I can tell you that all too often more expensive replacement speakers dont sound as good as the OEM. The PowerBass oe69c-ty fit and sound great run from the original factory head unit. I am Happy.

Save yourself the trouble.
Yu Jin from Williamsburg, VA on 6/26/2024
2013 Toyota Tundra
Ordered these thinking I would have to do less work being that it is supposed to be plug and play. Install was easy. Once I wired the factory plug extension, the speaker wouldn't play. Ended up getting female spade connectors and directly wired it to the speaker. After a week, one speaker went out and the tweeter started making this awful screeching noise. Then worked like normal the next. The following week, both front speakers stopped working. Save yourself the headache and avoid.

DJ from The 559 on 6/15/2024

What an increase in soundstage and bass response! I don't think a direct OE replacement can get much better in 2024. Didn't use the tweeters as I already had 1" alpine silk domes, and these are 3/4" titanium tweeters that come with this set. Hopefully Crutchfield changes the description of the speakers as they currently state 1" soft dome tweeters and that is incorrect. Bought the "scratch and dent" to save some money and this might as well have been a demo unit. It was pristine, minus one tweeter brace that looked like it was installed. Very very slight deformation in the tweeter bracket. But that was it. And since I didn't use the tweeters, everything came out to be exceptional for me. Highly recommended!
Pros: Completely CAD designed to fit perfectly. Soundstage increased 3 fold minimum. Excellent build quality.
Cons: Tweeters are 3/4" titanium drivers not 1"soft domes like listed on website. OE connector was put on the sides of the 6x9 speakers, requiring a little extension "1.5ft" of copper wire to make the cord reach properly (on both passenger and driver side speakers). - Applies to 2006 Camry LE JBL.

Avoid for 2015 Tacoma Prerunner
Ryan from Tomball, TX on 5/29/2024
2015 Toyota Tacoma
This is not plug and play for my 2015 Tacoma Prerunner TRD Sport. There are 4 harnesses and several adapters, and none fit correctly at the tweeter location. I even trimmed plastic on the closest connector to make it fit and confirmed it does not pass any signal. I then went to hardwire the tweeter and the wires broke off the tweeter body. I would never have purchased these mediocre components if I was going to go through a full install experience; these were advertised as plug and play, fast, and easy, but they are not. I called Crutchfield support three times and the representatives were useless. All they did was look up the same instructions I was sent in PDF and begin to read them with no idea what to do. This was a horrible experience and the only reason I came back to Crutchfield to purchase the next components is because they save research time and make it easy to find and bundle harnesses, etc. Their once legendary support was absolutely useless for me, and I can no longer trust their supposedly in-depth research on particular truck models, as this system was a complete waste of my time. Overall, I'm actually disgusted with this purchase.
Pros: Really nice tweeter brackets
Cons: Literally everything else.

Speakers are plug and play, twitters are not!
Alan from Guaynabo, PR on 3/17/2024
2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser
Vehicle: FJ Cruiser 2008 Speakers: 4 stars, fitted perfectly, just needed to use cable extenders to reach factory plug. Twitters: 1 star, they don't fit on the factory harness(I had to screw them from the bottom up), the screws to hold the silver strip that holds the twitters in placed were missing. Non of the connectors provided fitted the factory twitter connector. I had to cut the smaller plastic 2 pins connector, with an oscillator tool to make them fit and avoid stripping the cables. Nonetheless, I have to thank Tom for bearing with me and trying his best to help me out. Crutchfield technical and customer service, 5 stars.
Pros: Speakers and twitters are better than factory.
Cons: You'll probably have to do some custom work for twitters to fit.

Subs worked great except the original wire was not quite long enough and was tight. Tweeters would not work and would have had to have way too much modification. This was supposedly a direct replacement but originals looked like they could be dual cone and had 4 wires.

Nice upgrade for the factory system.
Robert from Green Brook, NJ on 11/1/2020
2018 Toyota 4Runner
These sound substantially better than the chintzy factory Toyota speakers even with the factory head unit and are a good fit in the front door and dash of the 5th gen 4Runner. The build quality is good except for the fact that the crossover coil is hanging free, only attached by it's soldered leads. They wiggle freely garanteeing eventual failure with the vibrations while driving. I hot glued them to the frame of the speaker to preventing problems down the road (pardon the pun!). Contrary to the PowerBass and Crutchfield websites the matching PowerBass OE652-TY fit perfectly in the rear door and tailgate of the 5th gen 4Runner and are also a major improvement over the Toyota units. Overall I do recommend this setup, especially if you're running the factory head unit.
Pros: Substantantial improvement over the factory speakers.
Cons: Some build issues.

Bought these for my 2008 Tundra w/JBL. Was a good fit but not plug and play, had to use wire extension. Sound was acceptable compared to what I had however one of the tweeters did not work :( Would have kept them if it was not for that. Great Customer Service :) no problems exchanging them for Kenwood KFC-XP184C 7", easy to install with all included accessories, and sounds AMAZING. Thank You Crutchfield great customer service and sales.
Pros: almost direct fit plug and play
Cons: questionable reliability

I ordered these to replace the speakers in the front of my 4runner. Installation was simple, though i had to modify the tabs a bit to fit the factory locations. Bass was much better than the factory speakers. After 18 months, both speakers were inoperable. I removed them to find a failed solder joint. After a repair, they are working again but overall I am fairly disappointed in this product.
Pros: easy install, affordable
Cons: poor build quality

PowerBass OE69C-TY
Matthew from Jacksonville, FL on 5/28/2019
2013 Toyota Tundra
Perfect fit for the front doors of my 2013 Tundra CrewMax. I paired them with the matching OE652-TY 6.5" for the rear. They are all powered by a Sony WX-GS920BH head unit which is 45w RMS and 100w max. They are very clean/clear sounding, with noticably better highs than factory and get plenty loud. The build also appears to be far superior to the factory speakers. I doubt the weak stock head unit would have been able to do these speakers justice. The only thing I can say negative is the lack of low end base but they aren't really designed for that being they are mid base drivers. Mid base sounds good though and the highs are very bright and crisp.
Pros: Clean, clear sound, build quality seems very good
Cons: Not as much bass as I hoped for but the mid bass is certainly there and very clear/crisp.
