Overview: Dynaliner is an ultra-lightweight, closed cell, high performance insulation. It provides acoustic absorption and thermal insulation for a variety of vehicle applications. The dark gray Dynaliner has a self-adhesive backing, with a high-temperature acrylic adhesive, for easy application. This durable, crush and tear-resistant material is not affected by oil and does not absorb water. Dynaliner meets both UL (Underwriters Laboratory) and FMVSS (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards) flame resistance.

Typical Uses: Dynaliner is used on top of Dynamat in the doors, on the floor (under the carpet), behind the headliner, on the interior firewall, or under the hood. The Dynaliner/Dynamat combo can be used in place of carpet pad. Benefits include noise reduction, improved air conditioner/heater efficiency, and improved imaging (reduced high-frequency reflections).

Installation: Using a razor knife or scissors you can cut Dynaliner to the desired size and shape. Dynaliner is self-adhesive, and should be mounted on a clean surface, free from dust, grease, debris, or moisture. For best results, work evenly from one side to the other, applying even pressure.

Temperature Range: -30° to +200°F (-34°C to 94°C)

2019 Kia Soul---Will this negatively affect the sound from a downfiring sub placed on top of it, just inches above it in the spare tire well? I purchased this thinking it was the original/standard Dynamat. I have since ordered Dynamat EXTREME and will install that in my spare tire well.I CAN put this dynaliner over top, but SHOULD I? I have 500w RMS going to a slimline Kicker 12 in the Kicker sealed box. I'm just worried about the foam absorbing/deadening the sound.

This Dynamat Dynaliner can only help the sound in this case, Santos! You can feel free to apply it in that location and proximity to the sub with no worry if you choose. This Dynaliner specifically catches high frequencies and absorbs sound and almost acts as insulation, and it's designed to go right over traditional Dynamat.This can help the overall sound of the sub by isolating the cabin even more than the standard Dynamat. The bass will move out in every direction, and the deadening won't change that much! I say if you have it on hand you SHOULD, but if you decide not you use it you can always return any products purchased from us within the first 60 days, risk free!

While there's not definitive number, from a thermal perspective, the increase is probably not going to be as exponential as the sound but there will be a difference.

Are there any anti-static qualities of this material?

Greetings Howard, and thank you for your question. The Dynaliner is made to insulate, increase HVAC efficiency, as a high frequency absorbing material. As far as anti static, all I can see is whatever static you may have, some will be absorbed by the material.

No sir, it's not. It's basically high density foam with a strong adhesive backing and it would be like painting an egg crate mattress. It does make a great underlayment under a headliner. Gives nice support and REALLY cuts down on road noise.

I'm not a boat owner, but I don't think the product is designed to be used in a continually wet or very high heat environment. If it's dry, my concern would be fire hazard. I think you should contact Dynamat directly.

Can this be the only layer you use or should it be 2nd layer on top of DynaMat?

You can use both but you shouldn't have to. If the primary issue is vibrating surfaces (at specific frequencies; usually when the bass hits), go with the Dynamat. If you need to reduce exterior noise (road, wind, etc.) then go with the Dynaliner. Either product can work for either issue, but they are optimized for the applications I've described. Which is best for trunk noise, most road noise comes from the trunk! This or the dynamat with the silver looking side? I am getting this for my sons 2012 Mazda 3. Also, how many should I buy?

that's a pretty cool father/ son bonding exercise! Anyways, they should have dynamat kits for trunks - i think it's called Extreme. You'll probably want to take out the side carpeting in his trunk and do that too. But likely it's like the dumb stuff like a license plate/ frame that rattles too. I typically put silicone bumpers on the back of those.

I would start with dynamat, you can always add dynaliner over it if your looking for extra quiet or have a ton of bass as for quanity bulk packs are generally a better buy, plus any extra can be used in doors, floor boards etc

If you are just worried about road noise this will work. The dynamat (silver lined) is used in applications where aftermarket bass is being used since it neutralizes rattling from panels. The amount you need is dependent on the size of the trunk.
