Overview: The Sony WH-1000XM6 Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones combine the best noise canceling with exceptional, studio-quality sound to provide an incredible listening experience. With a specially designed carbon fiber dome driver, the headphones deliver pure, precise audio, along with clear, rich vocals. The XM6 supports High-Resolution Audio (wired and wireless), and features many smart and innovative features to make your listening much more enjoyable. The headphones have a new folding design for storage in its included fabric-covered case with a magnetic closure.

Bluetooth: The WH-1000XM6 has Bluetooth 5.3 for wireless listening from your smartphone, tablet, or Bluetooth music player within a range of up to 33 feet. Compatible profiles include A2DP, AVRCP, HFP, and HSP, with SBC, AAC, and LDAC codecs. LDAC transmits approximately three times more data than conventional Bluetooth, with a maximum transfer rate of 990 kbps for exceptional sound quality. For convenience, the headphones can be paired to two Bluetooth devices at the same time (Multi-point connection), giving you the ability to switch between them with ease.

Pairing: The headphones support Google's Fast Pair feature, which also helps you easily locate your headphones if misplaced. You can listen for a tone sound generated in the headphone, or check their last known location in Google's Find My Device app on your smartphone. The Swift Pair feature on newer Windows laptops, desktops, and tablets makes it quick and easy to pair your headphones to your device. When the headphones are placed in pairing mode, pairing guidance pops up on nearby Windows 11 or Windows 10 device.

Digital Noise Cancellation: The WH-1000XM6 is equipped with the new HD Noise Canceling Processor QN3, which is 7 times faster than the QN1, found in the WH-1000XM5 headphones. Equipped with 12 microphones, the headphones can precisely detect external noise and cancel it with an opposite signal for superior noise cancellation. Sony's new Adaptive NC Optimizer makes adjustments based on air pressure, external noise, face shape, and wearing style, including whether you're wearing a hat or glasses.

Auto Ambient Sound Mode: Sony's Auto Ambient Sound Mode adapts to your surroundings to provide a balance between your music and the external noise. The headphones' multiple microphones filters out unwanted noise while letting in the sounds you desire. These settings can be customized to your personal tastes in the Sony Headphones Connect app.

Phone Calls: The headphones provide crystal clear phone calls, thanks to the six-microphone, AI-based beamforming system. Intelligent noise reduction and innovative wind-resistant design work together to isolate your voice and filter out background noise so your voice stands out, even in the busiest environments.

Sony Headphones Connect App: The Sony Headphones Connect app (iOS 16.0+, Android version varies with device) gives you control over the sound of your headphones right on your smartphone or tablet. In addition to Auto Ambient Sound Mode and Noise Canceling Optimizer (mentioned above), the app lets you personalize the sound quality to your taste using the customizable 10-band equalizer. You can control your music playback (play/pause, skip forward/backward, fast forward/backward), and set the Clear Bass and DSEE Extreme (high range compensation for compressed music files) levels.

Voice Assistant: The Sony WH-1000XM6 is compatible with the Google Assistant for hands free help with listening to your music, connecting with friends, getting notifications, and setting reminders. To activate the voice assistant, just say "Hey, Google."

Touch Controls: Using the touch-sensitive control panel on the outside of the right ear cup, you can easily control all your music and calls. Volume is controlled with up or down swiping motions, while music/call controls utilize tapping and forward or backward swipes. The Quick Attention feature lets you instantly mute the audio by placing your hand over the touch pad so you can hear an announcement or conduct a conversation without removing your headphones.

Proximity Sensor: The headphones have proximity sensors that can detect when you're wearing the headphones, and when you're not. The music pauses automatically when you remove the headphones to help save your battery. When the headphones are put back on, the music automatically resumes.

High Resolution Audio: The headphones are compatible with Hi-Res Audio, allowing you to hear all of the subtle details of your music. The new 30mm precision-engineered carbon fiber dome drivers and specially-designed voice coil structure improve high frequency sensitivity to produce a more natural sound. High-Resolution Audio, as well as High-Resolution Audio Wireless, reproduce low bass notes and ultrasonic highs up to 40kHz. Hi-Res Audio Wireless is made possible with LDAC's ability to transmit at higher data rates than conventional Bluetooth. Using the included 4' audio cable with a Hi-Res-capable playback device, can also provide a Hi-Res Audio experience in a wired configuration.

360 Reality Audio: The XM6 headphones are certified for Sony's 360 Reality Audio through the Sound Connect app, allowing you to enjoy a truly immersive music, gaming, and cinema experience. The personalized algorithm provides an even greater sense of sound space, distance, and height that goes way beyond traditional stereo imaging. Your movies come alive with the 360 Reality Audio Upmix for Cinema, which uses the 360 Spatial Sound technology. You can also enjoy an amazing Dolby Atmos experience and 360 Spatial Sound on BRAVIA as well. These immersive features use a head tracking function by automatically adjusting the sound fields to compensate for your head movement, for a more realistic experience.

Sustainability: The packaging of the WH-1000XM6 contains no plastic, which goes along with Sony's socially responsible philosophy. To reduce the environmental impact, the headphones and carrying case are made with recycled materials from post-consumer waste.

Rechargeable Battery: The Sony WH-1000XM6 over-ear headphones are equipped with a 3.8-volt Lithium-Ion rechargeable battery to power the Bluetooth and ANC functions. The battery fully charges in approximately 3.5 hours via USB using the included USB-C cable and a USB power source with an output of 5V - 1.5A or more. When using a commercially available USB AC adapter with USB-PD (Power Delivery), the charging time will be shorter. A 3-minute quick charge using a USB-PD adapter will produce up to 3 hours of playback.
