It's particularly suited for Sony cameras with a Multi Interface Shoe, but you can also connect it to other devices using the included 3.5mm recording cable.

Virtually noise-free recording

This mic's physical design suppresses low-frequency noise from shock and vibration. Plus, it comes with a furry windscreen for cutting noise when you're recording outside.

When you mount it to your camera's shoe, it eliminates noise transmitted through cables or connectors. That helps you get great sound at the recording stage and keeps your post-processing to a minimum.

Overview: The Sony ECM-G1 Shotgun Microphone is a compact monaural microphone designed to record human voices. Because it captures vocals clearly and accurately, it is ideal for vlogging and shooting interviews. The microphone is designed to mount to the Multi Interface Shoe found on many Sony Interchangeable Lens Cameras. The ECM-G1 comes with a "furry" wind screen, a 10" audio cable, and a handy storage pouch.

Design: The ECM-G1 is equipped with a large-diameter 14.6mm (0.57") microphone capsule for capturing high-quality sound, especially in the frequency range of the human voice. Its performance can be compared to high-end dedicated audio recorders, with clear, clean audio and effective noise rejection. It features an anti-vibration mounting structure that reduces mechanical noise or minor bumps caused when focusing or zooming the camera. The Multi Interface shoe requires no cables that can pick up vibrations. Its compact design won't get in your way when you're looking through the camera's viewfinder.

Multi Interface Shoe: The microphone clips to the Multi Interface Shoe found on many Sony Interchangeable Lens Cameras where it makes direct power and audio connections. The power is supplied directly from the camera to the microphone, eliminating the need for batteries. For non-MI shoe devices, the ECM-G1 has a 3.5mm audio jack and a 10" cable.

Pickup Pattern: The ECM-G1 has a highly directional shotgun design with a super-cardioid pickup that focuses on capturing audio directly in front of it. By rejecting noise coming from the sides, the microphone concentrates on the audio of the subject in front of the camera, making it ideal for vlogs and interviews.

Windscreen: The microphone comes with an easily attachable "furry" windscreen that can reduce wind noise when shooting outdoors under windy conditions.
