Clean power to run an entire system
Bob from KY on 12/27/2024

I purchased this amplifier from Crutchfield when they first came out and it has been running in my SUV for over a year. It has plenty of clean power to run a complete system and is noise free. I am running it active to a Focal Component system and a JBL sub and it never gets hot, even when ran for an extended period of time. These amps are worthy of the Sony ES badging and I have been completely happy with it.

This is one of the best sounding amplifiers being hi res audio not to many out there with this rating specs say it all with plenty of power than most as well I'm running this in a 2015 Chrysler 200 s with the stock alpine system rewired everything to a pac audio unit 4 Pioneer Premier TS-D901P 6"x9" Rev series back deck and front doors and four ts 876 3.5 in rear doors/ front dash my center channel runs off stock amp wired in to Rockford pm100x1k amp rated 72 watts to pioneer ts 874 in my option crazy clear sound with everyone that heard it my sub is a jl 13.5" sub in a ported box built to spec.
Pros: best hi res 5 channel amplifier sound quality on this amplifier is on another level reproduction better than i experienced vs other 5 channel amps iv tried most of them name brand its the little thing in the music you might never herd before this is the best hi res amplifier vs others if your looking for a great sounding amp this is it spec says it all not your average 5 channel amp very very loud on an sq level A+++++ Sony
Cons: I wish it had a bass boost level for more punch with rock music price is high vs other hi res amplifiers if on a budget but great sound wise vs others iv tested it's bigger than some if not most that iv tested to fit under a seat or tight spots but worth the fight if can afford/fit

Loud and Clean
Crutchfield customer from Mechanicsville, VA on 4/5/2023
Really surprised there aren't more reviews about this amp, I have had several nice amps since the 1980s and this is far and away the best amp I have ever owned. (I had a 4x40 Sony and a separate Sony crossover in my Cutlass back in the day) This amp is powering a full Sony ES mobile system (save for a JL sub-woofer) and is a drop in replacement for the JL 700/5 that was powering this system. The difference between these two amps is impressive. Both amps are clean, but this Sony has POWAH! and some how remains clean. It really changed the system. For instance, the JL never bumped the rear view mirror, but now the mirror bumps on anything that has decent bass. The bass knob is larger than most, and has mark that shows the center, I wish it had a detent so I could feel it, but is easy to adjust and matches my interior. I listen to everything, and the system get's as loud and clean as I like at only 30 (goes up to 50), and casual listening is done at 20 in a truck with loud exhaust. And I know this thing has more to give, I am planning on adding two 10s or 12s at 2 ohm, in stead of the single 10 I have in there now, and I can't wait to hear/feel that setup. I like loud and clean, I don't like just loud, BUT I love that I can take my system there when I need. Still hard to believe this thing can push almost 1000 watts through the sub channel. In short, if you need a single amp to push your system, this is the one to get!
Pros: Lots of power Lots of tweaking options Lots of headroom for clean sound Bass knob matches my interior
Cons: Cost? But the value is there and it isn't even the most expensive 5 channel amp. Wish the bass knob had a center detent.
