Great sounding Speakers
CHRISTOPHER from HAMILTON, OH on 8/14/2024
1998 Chevrolet Corvette
I bought these speakers as a replacement for the factory Bose system speakers in my 1998 C5 corvette. Location doors. Replaced s everything with Sony ES equipment. Used Sony 6 channel amp to run 3 way components and rear speakers. System is incredible sounds are crisp clean and clear. With the added 12in sub. This system pounds.
Pros: High-quality
Cons: Price is high. They are definitely worth the money though.

Shocked
Elijah from EVERETT, WA on 7/9/2024
Everything installed screws tightened, amps /DSP tuned , alignment done to my liking. Car parked in garage absolutely no outside interference. first song was Hotel California (when hell freezes over live 94) not even the best recording I had. Needless to say I was completely shocked by all degree. If I wasn't the big burley bearded hunk of man that I am it may have put a tear in my eye. All kidding aside for the price I can't even believe theres something like this on the market. I'd love to see someone with the most expensive setup hear this without knowing what brand it is and hear what they have to say. I truly believe Sony could throw a grenade on all other products and take over all of it if they wanted to.

WAY OVERPRICED by SONY
Brian from PHOENIX, AZ on 6/26/2024
For the asking price they are VERY disappointing. These components are inline with component speakers that cost HALF as much. Trust me you will get equal sound quality from anything that costs half as much, don't waste your money on these. I have them powered by an Audio Control D.1200 FYI.
Pros: These would be amazing at half the price Sony wants.
Cons: Way Overpriced

Fenominal speakers
Charles from Peoria, AZ on 5/1/2024
I love em, sounds better than any single speaker eve could. But they are not 6.5inch speakers. The cone is 5.5 inch. The entire thing is 6.5 to include the mount. But they sure do sound awesome. I am running 65 amps at 4 ohm to them with a kicker 5 channel amp.

Made out of plastic !!
Ronald from SOUTHBRIDGE, MA on 10/3/2023
No grills for midrange speaker ! Its an unusual shape , where are we supposed to find grills ? All plastic ! 6.5 woofer is made of plastic ! Careful when handling . The box is made of paper . It disintegrated as I lifted out of shipping container ! I have not listened to these and I never will . The cheap plastic frame on the woofer will crack into pieces if you tighten a screw to much .
Pros: The frame on midrange is the only metal ....other than magnets ....in the kit .
Cons: Not built to last. For this price they should be!!

Sony High Resolution system toyota tundra
joshua from Kaneohe on 8/17/2023
2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
I purchased the Sony ES 3 way 6.5 set and the Sony ES 2 way 6x9 set and used 3 way with the 6x9 up front and the 6.5 2 way in the rear doors in my tundra. The amp I'm using is the Down4Sound JP34AB 4 channel class a/b amp. So of course I had to finish it off with the Sony XAV9500ES floating head unit. With its special sound proccessors for delivering High Resolution Audio...The result is amazingly razor crisp instruments and vibrantly warm vocals with some very punchy mid-bass. I'm thoroughly impressed with this system and would recommend it to audiophiles of all levels.
Pros: Sound is amazing. Audiophile level sound.
Cons: It is expensive. No video or screen mirroring capabilities from Sonyxav9500.

Amazing sound
Matt from Kingston, PA on 8/9/2023
1986 Pontiac Fiero
In a quest for a more modern sound I put these in a 1986 pontiac fiero. There was a lot of fabrication involved in getting everything mounted, but oh my what a great sound. Super clean sound and you can hear every detail. I'm running them unamplified off a retrosound head unit at like 25 w/ch, and they crank. Even at high volume there is no distortion. Really happy with this purchase.
Pros: Price, sound, everything really.
Cons: None.

Audiophile Quality without the price
Mike from ROCHESTER, MN on 6/20/2023
1990 Ford Mustang
Upgraded my Infinity Kappa Perfect set up front with this 3-way set. After reading the reviews, it was clear these were not your average Sony speakers. These literally blew away my Infinity Kappa's. It's soo bad that I'm tearing out my rear speakers now to replace them (also Infinity Kappa Perfect's). These are without a doubt the best sounding speaker set I've ever heard and it's not even close. I can't recommend these more. Below are the Sony ES speakers next to the Infinity set I removed. Night and day difference. Not even the same game.
Pros: Absolutely amazing power handling and clarity at the highest volumes. I can't recommend these enough.
Cons: Can be difficult to install depending on your vehicle, not all vehicles have easy places to install 3 piece speaker sets. That's literally the only downside. You won't regret these.

Audiophile Grade
Cody from SAN TAN VALLEY, AZ on 6/8/2023
2012 Toyota Tundra
I recently upgraded to these bad boys in my Tundra from other aftermarket Kicker top-of-the-line KS series 6.5in 2 ways. While the Kickers were great for me for a few months, I heard a higher end system recently and once you hear something, you can't un-hear it. The Kickers now sounded atrocious. I immediately began a search for new speakers up front. I came across these, and even though there weren't many reviews on the internet, the general consensus is that the Sony Mobile ES line are some of the best speakers out there for a reachable speaker price point. I pulled the trigger on them, and you should too. They sound absolutely wonderful. They put out similar or higher volume level than the kickers which were rated 3db sensitivity higher. The vocals are absolutely crystal clear. Midbass is also there but you shouldn't be trying to run these without a sub, I have a 10in Rockford Fosgate behind the back seat. All in all, these sound great, and they're practically free compared to the ridiculously expensive premium speakers they seem to be able to compete against.
Pros: Sound quality Build quality
Cons: Installation is more difficult due to extra speaker and larger crossover.

2011 Lexus RX350
Absolutely love these. I actually bought this 3 way and the 6x9 2 way set for my 2018 chev 3500. I used the 6x9 on the 3 ways up front and the 6-1/2" in the back. Both run in bi amp mode from two JL Audio hd900/5's. And 2 jl 12tw. I cannot believe how warm and full my system sounds now. And I used the Sony 9500es to put it all together. Amazing sound.
Pros: Sound better each day.
Cons: None.

Great component set! Great customer service!
Thaddeus from San Antonio, TX on 4/20/2023
2019 Toyota 4Runner
One of the best performing speakers I've owned. Amazing detail! Crisp highs and mid bass that can keep up. I have them paired with the Sony XAV-AX6000 and the audio control D-4.800. Also 2 L7 Q class 12s in a 4.5 cubic ft ported box. Very pleased with this set up. All from Crutchfield. As much as these guys have helped me out with their top shelf customer service. I will not order from anyone else. Hats off to the Crutchfield team. You guys are amazing.
Pros: Audiophile quality when paired with the right amp.
Cons: Maybe the packaging from the manufacturer. It was in a flimsy cardboard box that was all mangled when I got my shipment. But not to worry it all came in a solid Crutchfield box with all the shipping foam thingies.

Audiophile Grade Speakers
Bashar from Rochester, MN on 4/9/2023
2020 Toyota Tundra
Sharp and clear sound. When you push them with strong amp the performance is audiophile grade. I do not use the original head unit or jbl amp in my Tundra. I bypassed the whole OEM system and installed mine with 12 channels and AudioControl equipment.
Pros: Sharp, clear with high and low. The twitters performance is superb. I had to tune them down. The staging is phenomenal and is audiophile grade.
Cons: Modifications is needed but super easy. It is not plug and play system.
