About the Ring Stick Up Cam Elite

A strong, reliable connection

Want a camera that can go nearly anywhere and doesn't suffer from the dropouts caused by spotty Wi-Fi? The Stick Up Cam Elite might be your solution. It can be mounted on a wall or ceiling, or you can use the integrated base to place it on a tabletop or shelf. And it's weather-resistant, so you can mount it almost anywhere — indoors or out.

Ring's Stick Up Cam Elite (available in black or white) is weather-resistant for use indoors or out.

If your router or switch is capable of providing Power over Ethernet, you can simply run an Ethernet cable from the camera to that PoE-capable port. This single cable provides a stable network connection as well as steady power.

If your equipment isn't compatible with Power over Ethernet, you'll need to use the included PoE adapter and an AC outlet for power. The camera can then be connected to your home network using either Wi-Fi or an Ethernet connection between your router and the PoE adapter.

A robust app

The Ring mobile app lets you view the camera's live stream in real time from wherever you are. Press the talk button to have a chat with people or pets at home. Or — if you see uninvited guests — press the alarm button to activate the Stick Up Cam's siren to scare them off.

You can also adjust the motion zones and schedules so that you only get notifications when you actually need them.

Optional cloud storage

The camera streams live footage to the app 24/7, but if you want to save or send video clips, you'll need a Ring Protect plan. Ring Protect is a subscription-based cloud storage service. The basic package ($3.99/month or $39.99/year)* covers a single camera and allows you to save and share your Ring videos from that camera. You get a free, 30-day trial subscription when you activate your Ring device.

Installing multiple Ring devices? The Ring Protect Plus plan ($10/month or $100/year) includes cloud storage for unlimited Ring devices at a single location.

Just ask Alexa

I also have good news for Smart Home fans — Ring cameras will work with Amazon Alexa-enabled devices for hands-free home monitoring. You can set regular Echo devices to illuminate and make an announcement when your Ring camera senses motion. And if you have an Echo Show or Spot, you can ask Alexa to show you the live stream from your Stick Up Cam.

Part of your ring of security

Product Research

Features

Overview: The Ring Stick Up Cam Elite (2nd Generation) is weather-resistant, and can be mounted on a wall or ceiling, or placed on a table top. It is powered by Power over Ethernet (PoE), and connects via Wi-Fi or Ethernet. The Stick Up Cam Elite has an adjustable mounting bracket so you can aim the camera where you want. Like other Ring cameras, the Stick Up Cam works through the Ring Always Home app, which provides mobile notifications, two-way communication, and allow you to view live streaming video on your smartphone.

Camera: The camera has a wide-angle lens with a wide 150° horizontal and 85° vertical field of view. The camera produces bright 1080p HD video in a Live View that you can watch on your phone, tablet, or computer. Adjustable motion sensors can detect movement up to 30 feet away. Up to three motion zones can be created to cover specific areas of your home, such as doorways, windows, and gates. When motion is detected, a notification will be sent to your smart device through the Ring app. Customizable motion schedules can be set up allow you to receive notifications only when you need them. Even with the lights off, the camera's infrared LEDs will enable the night vision. The Stick Up Cam Elite can be mounted on a wall, ceiling, or tabletop.

110dB Siren: The camera features a 110-decibel siren alarm that will help scare off any intruders. The siren is remote activated from the Ring App on your smart device or computer.

Power Options: The Ring Stick Up Cam Elite uses Power over Ethernet (PoE), which lets you use a single cable for power and internet signal. Simply connect the included PoE Adapter to a power outlet and to the Stick Up Cam for a reliable connection and non-stop power. One Ethernet cable is included with the camera, but you will need another cable to connect the adapter to your router. If your home already has a PoE system, you can simply connect the camera directly to your PoE-enabled Ethernet port. The existing port must meet the IEEE 802.3af (PoE), or IEEE 802.3at (PoE\+) standard.

Note: While the Ring Stick Up Cam Elite is weather-resistant, the PoE Adapter is not, and must be installed indoors.

Connectivity: The camera requires an internet connection with a minimum upload speed of 1 Mbps, with a 2 Mbps recommendation for optimum performance. The internet connection can be wireless via Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n @ 2.4GHz/5GHz) or via Ethernet.

Voice Assistant Compatible: The Ring Stick Up Cam Wired is compatible with the Amazon Alexa voice assistant. You can control the Ring security system by telling Alexa to perform a specific action, such as turn on motion alerts, show the view from specific cameras, or play back videos. When you receive an alert, you can hear the announcements on your device. If you have an Echo Show or Spot, you'll be able to see live and recorded video on the screen, and conduct 2-way conversations with anyone captured on the live camera.

Ring App: The free Ring - Always Home app pulls together all of your Ring devices, including Video Doorbells and Security Cameras. The app sends you an instant alert when someone triggers the camera's motion sensor, or rings your Ring Video Doorbell. You'll be able to see, hear, and speak to anyone on your property using your smart device. In addition, the app lets you create a virtual Neighborhood Watch and receive alerts from your neighbors. In the app, you can customize the Motion Zones, times for receiving (or not receiving) alerts, and how often to be notified for motion events. The Ring App is available for Apple iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch running iOS 14.0 or later, and for Android devices running version 9.0 and up. The Ring desktop app has been discontinued, however, all of your settings and Ring features will be accessible in your account on Ring.com.

Optional Protection Plans: The Ring Always Home app keeps you connected to your home in real time, with instant alerts sent directly to your smartphone or tablet. If you have Ring security cameras or Video Doorbells, you also get live view and 2-way talk. A free 30-day trial of Ring Protect Plus is included when you initially set up your Ring device.
