Ring's weather-resistant Spotlight Cam is a totally cord-free way to keep an eye on the dark corners of your property. When motion is detected, the LED spotlights come on and a notification is sent to your phone. You can then use the mobile app to view live footage in real time from wherever you are. Press the talk button to have a chat with your visitors, or — if they are uninvited guests — press the alarm button to activate the siren to scare them off.
Power up
The Ring Spotlight Cam comes with a quick-release battery for charging up without taking the camera down. You can also purchase an extra battery so you don't lose coverage while the depleted battery is recharging. Or, pick up the Solar Panel accessory for totally uninterrupted power without the hassle of climbing a ladder to change batteries (adapter required, sold separately). The Spotlight Cam Plus can also be powered via optional plug-in adapter or hardwired kit (sold separately).
Optional cloud storage and more
The camera streams live footage to the app 24/7, but if you want to save or send video clips, you'll need a Ring Protect plan. Ring Protect is a subscription-based service that provides cloud storage and some advanced features like person alerts. The basic package covers a single camera and allows you to save and share your Ring videos from that camera. You get a free, 30-day trial subscription when you activate your Ring device.
Installing multiple Ring devices? The Ring Protect Plus plan includes cloud storage for unlimited Ring devices at a single location.
Just ask Alexa
I also have good news for smart home fans — Ring cameras will work with Amazon Alexa devices for voice control. If you have an Echo Show, you can ask Alexa to show you the live stream from your Spotlight Cam Plus.

Overview: The Ring Spotlight Cam Plus outdoor security camera watches over your property day and night. It is equipped with a motion-activated spotlight that can light up a wide area. It connects to your home's Wi-Fi network so you can view the streaming video on the Ring app directly from your computer or smart device. It has a microphone and speaker for two-way audio capability. The Spotlight Cam Plus is powered by a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery, and comes with a mounting bracket and hardware.
Camera: The battery-operated security camera has a wide-angle lens with a 140° field of view. The camera produces bright 1080p HD video in a Live View that you can watch on your phone, tablet, or computer. Adjustable motion sensors cover a wide arc, and can detect movement up to 30 feet away (based on a 10-foot mounting height). When motion is detected, the LED spotlights will automatically turn on, and a notification will be sent to your smart device through the Ring - Always Home app. Even with the lights off, the camera's infrared LEDs will enable the night vision.
110dB Siren: The camera features a 110-decibel siren alarm that will help scare off any intruders. The siren is remote activated from the Ring App on your smart device or computer.
Weather Resistant: The Spotlight Cam Plus is designed to be used outdoors. It is resistant to inclement weather and temperature extremes (-4°F to 120°F).
Installation: The camera can be mounted on an exterior wall or under an eave or overhang of your home. Once you have selected your mounting spot, you will need to first install and level the mounting bracket. The bracket can be installed directly onto wooden surfaces, or on masonry/stucco structures using the provided wall anchors. Once the bracket is installed, the camera securely locks into place on the bracket. The camera has an integrated ball-and-socket adjustment that lets you position the camera for your desired view. The camera must be installed where there is a strong Wi-Fi signal. A minimum upload speed of 2 Mbps is required.
Wi-Fi: The Ring Spotlight Cam Wired operates on an 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi connection on the 2.4 GHz band. Connecting the camera to your home network allows you to view your camera's live stream or recorded videos from virtually anywhere on your smartphone, tablet, or computer. The camera is compatible with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant smart devices, for listening to notifications or viewing the video feed from an Echo Show or Google Nest Hub smart display.
Power: The Spotlight Cam Plus is powered by the included rechargeable battery pack (3.6V, 5800mAh, 20.88Wh). The camera has a second battery slot for adding an optional Quick Release Battery Pack, sold separately, to essentially double its battery life. The battery has a Micro-B USB port for charging with the included cable. On the back of the camera is a power input for adding an optional Solar Panel (USB-C), Plug-in Adapter, or Hardwired Kit (all sold separately).
Ring - Always Home App: The free Ring - Always Home app pulls together all of your Ring devices, including Video Doorbells and Security Cameras. The app sends you an instant alert when someone triggers the camera's motion sensor, or rings your Ring Video Doorbell. You'll be able to see, hear, and speak to anyone on your property using your smart device. In addition, the app lets you create a virtual Neighborhood Watch and receive alerts from your neighbors. In the app, you can customize the Motion Zones, times for receiving (or not receiving) alerts, and how often to be notified for motion events. The Ring App is available for Apple iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch running iOS 14.0 or later, and for Android devices running version 9.0 and up.
