Features

Overview: The Shure BLX24R/SM58 Handheld Wireless Microphone System consists of the BLX4R Rack Mount Wireless Receiver, and the SM58 Handheld Microphone with the BLX2 transmitter. You can operate up to 12 compatible systems per frequency band (depending upon your region). The system operates on the J11 frequency band (596 to 616 MHz), and has a transmitting range of approximately 300 feet.

BLX4R: The BLX4R Rack Mount Wireless Receiver features one-touch QuickScan frequency selection to help you find the best open frequency for less interference. You can also manually change the group and channel assignments, if needed. It has an XLR mic output, as well as a 1/4" instrument-level output jack. The BLX4R is simple to set up, and has a microprocessor-controlled internal diversity antenna system with two removable 1/4-wave antennas. It has two LED indicators: an Audio LED to indicate the strength of the incoming signal (glows green for normal and red for overload), and a Ready LED to indicate the system is ready for use and receiving the transmitter signal. The BLX4R has an LCD display with detailed RF and audio metering. It is powered by the supplied 12-volt DC power supply, and comes with hardware to rack mount the receiver in a 1U rack space. For better reception when rack-mounting, hardware and extension cables are included to locate the antennas on the front of the rack-mounting brackets.

BLX2/SM58 Wireless Handheld Mic: The SM58 is the industry standard microphone capsule for lead and backup vocals in a professional sound reinforcement or project studio recording application. The SM58 has a cardioid polar pattern, and delivers warm, clear vocal reproduction. It is designed for close-up vocals, and can be handheld or mounted on a stand (using the supplied adjustable stand adapter). The SM58 can withstand rough handling, featuring a hardened steel mesh grille, and an advanced pneumatic shock mount system that minimizes mechanical noise and vibration. In addition to the stand adapter, the microphone comes with a zippered storage bag. The BLX2 transmitter is powered by 2 "AA" alkaline batteries (included), which provide approximately 14 hours of battery life. The LED indicator turns red to signify low battery with approximately 60 minutes of battery life remain. Optional rechargeable batteries can also be used. The BLX2 has independent group and channel buttons for easy setup. The BLX2 comes with a black identification cap. Optional color ID caps are available from the manufacturer.

Customer Q&A

1 question already asked

Q
Does each SM58 wireless mike require its own BLX24R receiver or can multiple SM58's run off the same receiver?

A
Wireless mic systems like this one can only work with one microphone. We have at least one, maybe more, wireless mic system that has two microphones. I recommend discussing this with one of our Pro Audio advisors and you can call them on 800-555-9369 My Bio: http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=101
