Shure's QLXD2/SM58 handheld wireless transmitter combines excellent response and freedom of movement in an attractively priced package. It features the standard-setting SM58 microphone capsule, tailored to deliver warm, clear vocal reproduction with a cardioid polar pattern. The QLXD2's OLED display makes setup simple, while the aluminum housing protects it from damage. The unit offers up to 9 hours running time on two AA batteries (included) or 10 hours on Shure's SB900B rechargeable lithium-ion battery (sold separately). Infrared sync makes it easy to connect the transmitter and receiver. The transmitter operates on the G50 band (470-534 MHz) and can be used with Shure QLX-D digital wireless receivers (sold separately).

Overview: The Shure QLXD2/SM58 (G50 band/470-534 MHz) Digital Wireless Hand-Held Microphone is designed for live sound applications requiring excellent ambient noise rejection. The dynamic microphone features a cardioid polar pattern that can provide superb vocal isolation while rejecting sound from behind the microphone. The QLXD2/SM58 wireless microphone offers streamlined performance with transparent 24-bit digital audio designed for presentations, lectures, houses of worship, conference centers, and mid-size live sound events. Operating in the G50 band (470-534 MHz), the wireless microphone has a working range of up to 330 feet (line-of-sight) when combined with a compatible Shure QLX-D Receiver (required and sold separately).

24-Bit Digital Audio: Shure digital wireless technology allows the QLXD2/SM58 wireless microphone to transmit detailed audio with an extended, virtually flat frequency response from 30 Hz to 20 kHz, and with up to 120 dB of dynamic range. When combined with a compatible Shure QLX-D Receiver (sold separately), the wireless microphone system can operate up to 168 compatible channels per frequency band with up to 72 MHz of tuning bandwidth (region dependent). It also allows up to 17 compatible systems in the 6 MHz TV band and 22 systems in the 8 MHz TV band.

QLXD2/SM58 Controls: A removable lower chassis gives access to the Transmitter's battery compartment for inserting the two included 'AA' batteries. The battery compartment also contains a 4-way navigation button for selecting Menu and Enter along with Up and Down for navigating through the menu. Options are displayed on the backlit LCD. The microphone also features an On/Off button and an IR window for IR Syncing. Menu options include:

Group: Lets you scroll through available Groups.
Channel: Lets you scroll through available Channels.
Frequency: Allows the Frequency to be adjusted.
RF Power: Used for selecting the RF transmitting power setting. Options are:
- Lo: 1mW
- Hi: 10mW
Battery Time: Displays battery power metering.
Lock/Unlock: The microphone controls can be locked to prevent unauthorized or inadvertent changing of settings. Locking and Unlocking are accessed by holding down the Menu button for 3 seconds, then pressing Enter.
