Features

Overview: The Shure UA834WB In-Line Antenna Amplifier lets you increase the length of antenna cable run between your compatible Shure wireless microphone receiver and the antenna. A BNC connector on one end of the amplifier lets you connect your wireless microphone antenna while a second BNC connector attaches to your antenna cable. The in-line antenna amplifier receives its 10-15 volt DC bias for operation from the connected receiver or combiner, and operates on the 470-902 MHz frequency band.

Controls & Indicators:

  • Power/RF Overload: An LED indicator will light Green if the amplifier is receiving power from a connected receiver or combiner, and light Red if the signal from the antenna is too strong.
  • Gain: A slide-switch lets you add +6 dB, +12 dB of signal boost, letting you compensate for signal loss. The +6 dB setting should be used for shorter cable runs and the +12 dB setting for longer cable runs. Multiply the per 100-feet rating of the cable by the cable length to determine the signal loss, and add gain as necessary to compensate. For example: a 50 ft. cable with rated loss of -12dB per 100 ft. would calculate as (-12dB/100)*50 = -6dB and require +6dB of gain for 0 dB loss.

Mounting: The Shure UA834WB features a tilt-adjustable mount that can be installed on a horizontal or vertical surface, letting you mount your wireless microphone antenna in a remote location for optimum reception. The threaded base can be removed and the UA834WB installed on a standard microphone stand (sold separately).
