Features

Overview: The Niles Audio PS6Si Pro is a round planter with a built-in stereo input speaker that can be used indoors or outdoors. It is designed to accommodate live plants features two drain-holes to allow water to drain from your plants. Available in a weathered concrete finish and terra cotta finish.

Drivers: The speaker has a down-firing 6.5" dual voice coil, injection-molded TCC (Talc/Carbon/Ceramic) filled polypropylene woofer with a butyl rubber surround. There are two 1" fluid-cooled tri-laminate Teteron tweeters that can be adjusted to vary the sound dispersion from 180º for open areas, to 90º for corner installations. The dual tweeters and single woofer provide a quality stereo signal with just one speaker.

Grille: The four aluminum MicroPerf grilles on the planter speaker have hundreds of precisely-sized perforations, creating an acoustically transparent grille. The aluminum construction resists oxidation, enabling years of trouble-free operation in the harshest conditions. Both sides of the grille are painted for added protection.

Wiring: The speaker features separate left and right channel inputs. Two 2', burial-rated connection cables are attached to the bottom of the planter. Waterproof wire nuts are provided to connect your speaker wire to the speaker. The proper speaker wire gauge is determined by the length of the run:

16-Gauge: Maximum Distance: 60'
14-Gauge: Maximum Distance: 100'
12-Gauge: Maximum Distance: 160'

Configuration: The speaker can be wired to be used as a single speaker, stereo input mode, or in a 2-speaker stereo mode. In the one-speaker stereo input mode, the speaker is 8 ohms. In the two-speaker stereo mode, the speaker is 4 ohms. The speaker will be louder when used in a two-speaker configuration compared to a single speaker. The speaker will cover a circular area with a diameter of 22'.

Temperature Extremes: The Niles Audio PS6Si Pro planter speaker can withstand temperatures of -50° to 185° Fahrenheit.

Are these speakers hardwired?

Yes. They actually have two pair of wires. The speaker can be wired with one of the two tweeters for Left and one for Right or if only one pair is wired, that sound comes out of both tweeters. I have two of them and so only connect to one pair of wires and have the other pair zip tied underneath the pot.

Not exactly sure what you mean by hardwired. They are not Bluetooth, if that is what you mean. You need to run wires to them. If you are asking if the speakers could be replaced, I'd say yes, definitely the tweeters. The sub would be more difficult to replace. There are two tweeters and three mesh openings, so you choose where you want the speakers to face. Hope this helps.
