Adequate for the price.
Steve from Charlottesville, VA on 4/25/2025
I bought a pair of these to bridge for my turntable amp. I had not made up my mind what power amp I really wanted, so I bought these cheap Class D amps as a temporary fill in. They are ok for the price, but I don't think the advertised bridged power is anywhere near accurate. Also, they take about ten seconds to power up. I'll be selling them when I decide what I really want.
Pros: inexpensive
Cons: inexpensive

Good power and sound
Dominic from NW Indiana on 4/12/2025
Very happy with this amp. Simply wanted a little more juice to feed my hungry speakers. Was a bit worried about a Class D amp sounding sterile but this has a nice, indistinguishable from analog sound and it provides a great soundstage and plenty of power. Using strictly for music and it delivers exactly what I wanted. May get another for running bridged or for my other system in the house...or both.

Fun for bi-amping!
Matthew from HUTCHINSON, KS on 3/29/2025
I ended up buying a used pair of Polk R700's for a verry good deal, and that made me decide I needed something better than my entry level Sony receiver and to ditch the idea of setting up surround sound and instead focus on awesome stereo. After a lot of shopping and reading and watching YouTube videos, I decided to use these, using a Yamaha WXC-50 as a DAC and streamer. My computer and PS5 are both connected to my TV via HDMI, and then I run an optical cable out of the TV and into the WXC-50, then connect the RCA out from the WXC-50 the to top amp, and then run another set of patch cables from that amp's out to the bottom amp's in. Being able to adjust the volume of each amp's left and right channels makes tweaking and dialing in the speakers a lot of fun. The cascade power is so satisfying, I just turn on my WXC-50 and then both amps click on, one then the other. Does bi-amping actually do anything? I don't know, I've never actually tested by trying one amp vs two, because it's too much work, and I mostly do it because 2 amps are cool. Bi-wiring is definitely pointless, you're just removing a speakers jumpers and using wires as jumpers instead, wires that probably don't carry the signal as well as the big metal, probably gold plated jumpers that were removed. My system sounds awesome! Playing games, watching movies, listening to music are all on a new level, the sound is incredible, sometimes emotional and moving, I like a wide variety of music and it all sounds fantastic!
Pros: gain knobs for each channel compact size cascade power simple to set up and use dead silent
Cons: gain knobs are on the back and hard to reach, which could be a pro because that keeps people from over driving your stereo

Lasted only 5 years
William from OXFORD, CT on 2/14/2025
I thought it was a fine amplifier but after just 5 years and 4 months it stopped working. I bought it in October 2019 and now in February 2025 it just clicks and does not put out any sound. Turn it off and on and it will briefly make sound with green light on but 15 seconds later back to red light and clicking. I've never had a piece of stereo work such a short time, normally I run amplifiers for 25 years!
Pros: Sounded good for 5 years
Cons: Dead now.

Joe from Fiskdale, MA on 1/16/2025
This thing is awesome. Powerful, sleek, and does exactly what it says it will. I've got it paired with a Definititve ceiling speaker (Stereo input) and it delivers tons of power. Lots of room left to expand and still have enough juice to add a couple more speakers as I finish the audio buildout in my kitchen/dining area.
Pros: Simple Powerful
Cons: Costs more than the cheap ones

High value power amp
Chuck from RESTON, VA on 10/19/2024
Very Clean and powerful, without bells and whistles my 2.1 setup doesn't need. I have it rack mounted under a mixing board. Controls are as they should be on a power amp - a button in front to turn it on and turn it off, and separate gain controls for each channel in the back to balance for the room. All of the other control functions come from input devices. My only audio source is a Wiim Pro DAC streaming over wifi, with a hardwire input from a TV. The Wiim ouputs to a 4 pot analog equalizer, which outputs to the SA-1200. I've turned off the Wiim's equalizer because analog knobs are so much easier, and provide plenty of tonal range. Ten pots would be great, but overkill, and I can always turn the Wiim equalizer back on. I've been using two A/B single channel power amps in my other set up, which is fine, but I'm going to replace them with another one of these. Good stuff.

Emmanuel from El Paso, TX on 8/26/2024
Excellent performance even compared to more expensive AB class amplifier. Operating temperature is nor very warm at all lowering my Martin Logan towers full range. Auto sense is fast as well as auto stand by. Case is light but of high quality. Wish I had heard about NILES prior to other purchases. Recommended.
Pros: Price to performance ratio is excellent.
Cons: Right and left speaker terminals are reversed compared to most other gear. They are correctly labeled but still it threw me off and I hooked my speakers incorrectly.

Equalizer solution
Dave from Louisburg, NC on 7/2/2024
Bought the Niles SI-2100 to supplement my new Cambridge EVO150 in order to utilize additional speakers. The unit is being used for some Bose-901's which require a Bose equalizer. It has to be set up separately so as not to effect other speakers in my situation. Easy to hook up, set the volume to match other speakers output and turn on. Sounds great, perfect for what I needed. I'm now running up to 4 sets of speakers depending in the mood.
Pros: Easy hook up, great sound

I recently added this amplifier to my home theater system, running my front left and right speakers while connected to my Marantz Cinema 60 HT receiver. I really wasn't expecting much other than adding a bit more power to my system. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed by how much more clear and detailed the sound became through my front speakers! I'm using Dali on wall speakers that tend to be more difficult to drive with a low 4ohm impedance and the Niles drives them with ease. It really brought the Dali's to life, with much more clarity and punch than they ever had driven by only my Marantz receiver. The Niles amplifier was definitely a solid addition to my system and I'd highly recommend it for anyone looking to add a bit more power and precise sound and control to their system.
Pros: Thin form factor, easy to accommodate in my stereo cabinet. Very easy set up!

Good Clean Sound.
Cecil from FORT LAUDERDALE, FL on 7/11/2023
This is a great amp investment for a HT setup. Niles were the Custom install "go to" home theater/stereo units of the 80's. Very reliable and easy to configure, they are known to increase dynamic headroom in a current system (such as how I am using it) , which is needed in a HT setup for Cinematic appeal. It never warms to the touch, and it was an easy setup in my current system. The small footprint allows for ease of placement in tighter scenarios.**Highly Recommended and Underrated!!**
Pros: Clean Sound Gets Dynamic Sound No Heat Small Footprint
Cons: only two channel, wish it were at least 5-9 channels, such as their older models.

Honest critique
Kent H from New Market, TN on 6/23/2023
I called crutchfield for assistance in adding a component to my new stereo system. One of the team listened to my concerns, my speakers were power hungry and I wanted to listen to music on lower settings. It was suggested an amplifier would push more power to them. I was told this Niles 100 watt was enuf to give more ooopmph to my system. Well it certainly does that. I have one pair of floor standing speakers hooked up to this amp,and a set of bookshelve speakers from the denon reciever. The reciever powers the bookshelf set witch gives them more power than plugging two sets in to it, and the amp does the floor set with separate power just for them. It makes a difference, as wen turned on it takes a couple seconds to engage, and the sound comes alive. Very noticeable sound difference. I'm glad I went this way. By the way, my speakers are klipsch 6000,and rp600m .I'm well pleased with this whole setup. The bookshelf speakers are nice all alone, I have them on both sides of two chairs in my music room. The floor speakers are across the room from the chairs equally spaced and I'm in stereo heaven. The most important part of this review is the team at crutchfield. Every one is very helpful. Don't delay to make a purchase at crutchfield, you'll be glad you did.
Pros: Every thing is perfect
Cons: Can't find any complaints

Jer from Chicago, IL on 1/16/2022
Bought this amp to drive an older 10" JL W6 in a home theater application. Rated power when bridged mono was a perfect match (400W RMS @ 8Ohm). DIY sealed box, hooked up to the subwoofer (SW) preout of a Marantz AV receiver. This setup far exceeded my expectations. The amp effortlessly drives this sub - music is clean and punchy, LFEs in movies are explosive and visceral. I've listened to Pink Floyd's Time and Outkast's Rosa Parks a few dozen times each and haven't stopped smiling. Great purchase, super useful low profile amp with gobs of power. Runs warm, have fans or leave doors open.

If sounds matter to you, nod the Nad
George from Kingshill, VI on 11/1/2021
Bought two of these to replace my aging mono amps. These are class D amps. I kept an a open mind and decided to try them in a stereo music setup. The niles got impressive reviews (which made me choose them). To me the sound is on the bright side. They handled the loads well and played loud. But the warmth of a class A or class Ab was lacking. I exchanged these for the Nad cL 940 (only rated at 35w/ channel) which played music with warmth and superb clarity. The bass was accurate too. I thought to myself "this amp makes the sweetest sounds. Do not pay attention to the 35w power output specs. This little guy(I suspect) punches way above that. I use it to power front speakers that are limited to 80 hz. My sub handles the rest. If u need more power this can be bridged to output more than 70w/ channel. This is a 4 channel amp in regular stereo mode, and two channel in bridged mode. It sounds so good in 35w mode that I don't want to mess with it. if you want great subwoofer amps, then buy the Niles 2100's. If you want music that satisfies the soul, get the Nad. Please don't make the same mistake I did. Go ahead and spend a little bit more so you don't end up feeling like tossing your amp(s) out the window.
Pros: loud
Cons: out of character

200 Watts of Quality Power easily drives 6 Niles OS 5.5 speakers

This Power Amp was recommended by the AV Design Experts and I am very pleased with it performance. I was concerned it wouldn't have enough power to drive 6 Niles OS 5.5 speakers in a outdoor pavilion through a volume controlled speaker selector. It has absolutely no issue driving all 6 speakers at the same time and they sound great. You get what you pay for, so although this amp is a little pricey I believe you will be very happy with the performance. Front height speakers
Crutchfield customer from Aibonito, PR on 12/14/2020
It is a great product and got it at a super sale price at Crutchfield. I purchased it to power my front height speakers paired with a Sony STR-ZA2100ES and it is a good match and integrated perfectly. I do think that my STR-ZA2100ES treble is more airy and refined than on this unit although it is still breaking in and being rated at the same wattage per channel I also believe the Sony is more dynamic and a bit more power but it could be because it is powering the fronts center, surround and surround speakers. Still a great until at a great price, would not change it for another amplifier.
Pros: Design, profile, separte volume for each channel and auto turn on and off are great features. Good high end sound at a bargain price.

Home Theatre Power Amp
Crutchfield customer from Hamilton, OH on 11/26/2020
This Power Amp is terrific! Extremely high quality upon terminating into 4 ohm stereo loads on two pair of Klipsch speakers per channel. And since the output is 220 watts per channel, I have headroom to spare. Great investment for a home theatre audio system.
Pros: Lots of power, seperate power supply for each channel, no distortion.
Cons: Have not found any!

Love this amp. I had 4 Bower & Wilkins AM-1 hooked up to a Denon 800H A +B but was not getting the performance with all 4 running. I added this to Zone 2 on the Pool Speakers came to life. This is coming from a guy that has a pair of Rev 10s on his boat. Wow load crisp with great base.

Niles SI-2100 as Dolby Atmos Front Height power amp
Crutchfield customer from Seattle, WA on 7/21/2020
I purchased the SI-2100 to power my front height speakers in my 7.1.2 Dolby Atmos setup, driving the SI-2100 from my Anthem MRX-720 receiver. The SI-2100 was easy to add to the system, I used the trigger output of the MRX-720 to trigger the SI-2100 to power on with the rest of the system. The amp is very quiet, no hiss or noise with my ear right against the height speakers.
Pros: Great form factor, easy integration with my surround processor, quiet
Cons: None so far

Solid little amp
Crutchfield customer from Canton, MA on 7/8/2020
I bought two of these to run 4 outdoor NHT O2 ARC (8ohm) speakers that are installed on dedicated fence posts around my pool. Both amps are daisy chained and hanging off of a Marantz NR1506 inside my house. Unfortunately, this makes my speaker wire runs a little long (all >60ft) so I ended up buying two of these amps and running a single speaker (8ohm) off of each channel using 12awg wire. I'm using banana plugs at all connections. NOTE: If I had the ability to do shorter speaker wire runs I would have no problem running a single SI-2100 to power four 8ohm speakers I use these amps almost daily. I've even used them for ~12 hours straight w/o issue. This includes cranking things up and down throughout the day/night. Considering how low profile they are, they don't get very hot. However, if you plan to stack these with other equipment, I suggest placing this amp on top, or making sure to add some space between each device. The only area for heat dissipation is on top of the amp. So far, I'm impressed. They deliver a decent amount of power for the money in a no frills package. If you already have a frontend device (receiver/wifi streaming device), these amps will make a nice addition to your setup.
Pros: Good amount of watts for money Decent speaker terminals Low profile Easy setup
Cons: Probably nitpicking here, but the feet on the bottom of these amps are quite thin making stacking more than one amp a challenge w/o modification or using a shelf

Literal Tears of Joy!!!
Crutchfield customer from Syracuse, NY on 7/8/2020
This unit has brought my speakers to life. Back story, my father had a pair of E V Georgians circa 1964 that I was using a Denon integrated amplifier receiver to push them and the sound was not what I remembered as a boy. I hooked up the Niles Power Amp and all I can say is the speakers came alive. I am totally satisfied with this purchase. Thank you Crutchfield.
Pros: Incredible is all I can say

Excellent, affordable stereo power amp
Crutchfield customer from Richboro, PA on 3/24/2020
Exactly what I needed. Was looking for a simple, affordable, stereo amp to pair with a Denon X3600H to utilize the A/V receiver's ability to process 11.1 (7.1.4 Atmos) channels via the multi-channel output. Anyone with one of these mid-level 9.1 Denon receivers that can process 11.1 should seriously consider this power amp for 7.1.4 Atmos. The ability to use 4 height speakers without compromising the rear surround channels is a game changer considering the cost of a 9.1 pre-amp + this amp vs the cost of an 11.1 pre-amp.

A Solid Replacement
Crutchfield customer from Bridgeton, MO on 2/26/2020
So far so good. Had to replace my Carver amp from "1980", yes 40 years of service, not bad. All that is now left of my original audio system is a pair of ADS L710 speakers. My requirements aren't what they used to be, and there is where the Niles more than fills the bill of what I want and need. It appears to be an excellent piece of equipment and you can't go wrong with Crutchfield, as trusted name for many years. At the moment very satisfied.
Pros: Great Price!
Cons: None that I know of.

This amplifier is quite remarkable...especially for the money! Used to replace an AudioResearch D-100 amplifier purchased many more years ago then I care to remeber for far more than the Niles SI-2100 cost me, I was not disappointed. The pre-amp is also an AR tube, powering the full range of a pair of top of the line Mirage Tower speakers. I can't say that I am missing anything, and it doesn't take five minutes to warm up. Yes, technology has come a long way in electronics but this is not necesarily so in audio, older is sometimes better. The Niles-SI-2100 stands proudly with the big names of years ago. It doesn't hurt that it weighs practically nothing and fits in a smaller space generating a considerably less heat. Thinking of buying another rather than splitting channels!

Excellent amp to bi-amp my Polk CSi A6

This is a very nicely built amp. I am using this for center channel Polk CSi A6. Using a Y cable to feed input to both L/R channels in the amp, and am bi-amping my CSi A6, the results are phenomenal. Dialogues are so crisp and clear. I am using a Yamaha RX A1060 receiver. Crutchcfield sales advisor Jenny was so helpful in advising me chose this amp. Niles support is also very reachable. Good Choice
Greg from Wayland, MA on 4/26/2018
I am quite pleased with the SL-2100. Using for a home audio zone powering speakers in 5 rooms. Power is great. Significant improvement in detail and bass. I've always been interested in Niles Audio products though thought they were expensive. When existing Jamo amp failed and Crutchfield had SL-2100 on sale w/2 day shipping included it was too good of a deal to pass up! This zone is mostly working rooms (kitchen, laundry, garage). Too bad it sounds so good I'd like to sit and listen. I do wish Niles Audio published the power consumption specs so I'd know what it draws standby.
Pros: Clean sounding and powerful. Very good choice for challenging loads.
Cons: No published power consumption specs

A good amp with even better company support!
Pigeonhed from North Carolina on 5/15/2015
I finally purchased a set of Bose 901s that I had wanted since I was a teenager. So imagine my frustration when even after much research, I found out that the "Tape" loop option I have on my receiver was not suitable for the proprietary Bose 901 EQ. In comes Crutchfield to the rescue! I explained my issue to Morgan and he took the time to look up the manual for my 11 year old receiver online. After determining that I couldn't use the 901s with my current set up, he researched a solution and suggested that I purchase a two channel amplifier as a work around. This Niles was on sale, and the reviews were solid, so I went for it. After about 14 months of happy ownership, the unit failed. I'm not sure why, but if I was forced to guess, it was because I placed it on top of my receiver and it was constantly operating at too hot of a temperature (I personally thought that the air flow was suitable). Since it had been over a year, Crutchfield was not able to help me directly, but they gave me the contact information for Niles. Even though my unit's warranty expired, Niles still serviced the unit for free, and were also very helpful and professional during the process. They had the unit back in about 12 days. Bravo! While the job of any amp is simple, I will say that this little amp cannot be turned up past 20% unless you want to get the police called. The power is clean, with no audible noise. And if you follow the airflow instructions, you will likely have zero issues.
Pros: Powerful; great support from Niles when needed.
Cons: It failed once just after a year which is not ideal, but Niles made it right.

I have this AMP connected with Sonos Connect and four Niles RS6 Pro rock speakers in my pool area. It sounds great with plenty of power. The auto on feature is great and allows me to turn on the system from my phone. I initially purchased a Yamaha R-500 receiver but it didn't have enough power. This Niles AMP works great with plenty of power for four outdoor speakers.
Pros: Lots of power, simplicity and auto on
Cons: None that I can see so far
