Kicker's CWRT122 loaded enclosure puts a low-profile 12" CompRT subwoofer and a second passive sub in a shallow wedge-shaped enclosure that brings Kicker bass power to the crowded spaces of today's cars and trucks. The rugged sealed box was designed specifically for the subwoofer, so you can count on getting maximum performance whatever music you listen to. The second sub (called a "passive radiator") reacts to the air pressure produced by the active sub, reinforcing the low end without the noise of a ported enclosure.

Made to dish it out

The 12" CompRT sub's tough injection-molded polypropylene cone gives it the stiffness to resist distortion when you're pushing the volume. Its rubber surround stands up to heavy use, and combines with a specially-designed back plate to give you more excursion (which equals more bass) than other skinny subs. This sub handles up to 500 watts RMS, so you'll get the kind of bass response that brings the best out of your music.

The box's compact, wedge-shaped design makes the CWRT122 perfect for tucking behind the seat of a truck and saves space in trunks and cargo areas. Its sturdy medium-density fiberboard construction and rugged black carpet covering give the enclosure good looks that complement its performance.

Features

Woofer & Passive Radiator: The Kicker 48TCWRT122 enclosure is loaded with one 12" CompRT series subwoofer. The Kicker subwoofer features a polypropylene cone with a Santoprene surround. The surround and cone are attached using Kicker's signature red double stitching, providing an outstanding bond. Along with the subwoofer, the 48TCWRT122 features a 12" Kicker reFLEX passive radiator, providing extremely low bass from a compact sealed enclosure.

Forced Air Cooling: Kicker uses their SoloKon technology to join the cone to the vented back brace, creating a single integrated unit. This forces air through the motor assembly allowing it to run 20% cooler and helping eliminate distortion.

Truck-Style Enclosure: The sealed enclosure is made of heavy-duty MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) with extensive internal bracing, providing exceptional acoustic efficiency and deep powerful bass. The enclosure is covered in sleek black carpeting for added protection and a refined look. Its compact, truck-style form allows it to be mounted behind bench seats, in cargo areas, or under some seats firing upwards.

Speaker Terminals: A single pair of spring-posts are mounted on the side of the enclosure in a recessed terminal cup, and will accept pin connectors, single banana plugs, or bare wire up to 10 gauge.

Power: The single 2Ω CompRT subwoofer can handle 250W-500W RMS (1000W peak).

Break-in Period: Due to the complex nature of Kicker CompRT speakers, they require a break-in period in order to produce optimum low-bass response. The suspension system is very stiff out-of-the-box. Approximately two weeks of daily playing will allow the suspension to break-in and reach its optimum equilibrium. Once broken-in, the subwoofer will exhibit stronger bass performance, smoother response, and greater low-bass extension.

What amp should I get for this sub?

This subwoofer can handle up to 500 watts RMS and has a 2 ohm impedance. There are a lot of amps that can power it to its fullest. I recommend contacting an advisor by calling 1-800-324-9695 to get a recommendation on an amp from our current inventory

what is the mounting depth for this box?

We do not have a measurement for the mounting depth of the enclosure as the subwoofer is not intended to be removed. However, we can confirm that the included CompRT 12" subwoofer has a mounting depth of 3.75". This means that any replacement subwoofer should be around the same shallow depth.

What works best for a factory radio is something like the Audio Control LC2i as it restores bass and eliminates bass roll off found in most all factory radios.

I currently have this in my 2020 Camry and it fits great. With the passage radiator it gives it a great sound for the size of the box. You won't win any sound competitions, but for just cruising around, it will get the job done.

We do not qualify universal subwoofers like the Kicker 48TCWRT122 for specific vehicle fit, Marco. Sometimes we have some rough measurements for subwoofer space in our vehicle research database, but I have little info on your 2020 Jeep Gladiator, sadly. We advise measuring your available subwoofer space carefully and comparing to the listed measurements on the Kicker Below: 27" Width 13-1/2" Height 7" Depth 1 x 3-1/2" Depth 2 I hope this helps!

Greetings Max, and thank you for your question. It will be close, we measured 6.5 inches by the floor, and 4 inches behind the seat 22 inches up from the floor. You might lose a little leg room. The box is 7 inches deep at the bottom, and 3.5 at the top.

Greetings Chris, and thank you for your question. Its going to be tight. We did measure behind the seats of the 17 Crew Max, and came up with 7 inches by the floor, and up 11 inches 4 inches behind the seat. The Kicker 48TCWRT122 is 7 deep on the bottom, 13.5 inches tall, and at the top 3.5 inches deep. Should fit, but again, it will be tight.

I do not have grill guards on mine but if you are going to have people sitting in the back seat that might put enough pressure on the seat back to Make contact with the face of the sub grill guards might be a good idea.. There is minimal space behind the rear seat of the crew cabs

You should not need a grill if nothing is between the back of the seat and speaker. I installed in a Toyota Tundra CrewMax and no issues. The speaker quality and sound is phenomenal.

If you worried about the sub hitting the seat and have the room between the sub and seat, then yes install a grille guard. The sub and the radiator need to be able to flex and move freely. If they are touching the seat then they will not perform as intended and probably damaged.

It doesn't have any extreme excursion however you will want to make sure you have some space for the sub. Not sure what the Xmax is on this sub but I doubt it's over 10mm.

Would an 800 x 1 ohm amp be too strong for this sub? If I'm correct that would be 600 x 2 ohm, 100 over the subs RMS.

I used cxa800.1 kicker amp.which is 600w at 2 ohms. Not even 3/4 of full volume for 20min my sub blow. I would use key 500.1 as kicker recommended. Replace speakers are $230..
