Features
Mounting: The tweeter is designed to be flush mounted from the bottom, with the mounting surface sandwiched between the included backing nut and threaded mounting flange (round or square). The square mounting flange also has screw holes for mounting. The threaded shaft is approximately 1⅛" tall, so the tweeter can be positioned within a range of depth/mounting height combinations.
Measurements:
- Required Cutout Diameter: 1.72" (compatible with 1¾" hole saw bit)
- Mounting Depth: 1.2" (minimum) -2.1" (maximum)
- Frame Diameter: 2.285"
- Round Mounting Flange:
- Diameter: 2.262"
- Height: 0.227"
- Square Mounting Flange:
- Sides: 2.532" x 2.532"
- Height: 0.227"
- Backing Nut:
- Diameter: 2.264"
- Height: 0.234"
Terminals: The tweeters have spring post wire terminals and will accommodate up to 16-gauge wire.
Crossover: The included 4.7 μF capacitor is 1st a order high-pass crossover (6 dB/octave slope) and must be used if no other crossover is added; the crossover point is approximately 8.5 kHz. The capacitor is wired in-line with the positive input of the tweeter. The capacitor measures ⅝" diameter x 1¼" long. When used, the capacitor should be soldered into speaker wire and insulated with heat shrink.
Resistor: If the tweeter is too loud, add the included 8Ω resistor in-line with the positive input of the tweeter. The resistor measures ⅜" square x 1⅞" long. When used, the resistor should be soldered into speaker wire and insulated with heat shrink.
