Nice upgrade for my Gen 5 Prius
Crutchfield customer from SHREWSBURY, MA on 7/6/2025
2024 Toyota Prius Prime
Great upgrade for '24 Prius Prime XSE. I have the larger screen but the non-JBL stereo. I put these in the dash and Focals in the front doors. Stereo sounds much better now - and I have not put in an amp - just replaced the speakers. It's not going to hit 150db or shake my neighbor's house but it's plenty for me and sounds great. The difference in build quality between the factory speakers with their tiny magnets and plastic drivers, and these, is obvious, and the sound is great. As always Crutchfield's directions are excellent and there are some very helpful videos on YouTube too. Very happy with this upgrade!
Pros: * Nice crisp highs * Can handle stereo's power just fine
Cons: * Can't think of any cons

AMAZING UPGRADE FOR JEEP WRANGLER JLs
Chris from PADUCAH, KY on 5/20/2025
2024 Jeep Wrangler
The sound comes alive! It's embarrassing the quality of the stock speakers Jeep puts in their non-Alpine systems. Here's a thought, Jeep. Buy Kicker speakers and make them stock! Charge me an extra $500 for my Jeep, just don't continue to put literal junk in them... these vehicles deserve better! As for the speakers... so worth the money! It was like my audio came to life! Before, my music was flat no matter what I did. There was no depth regardless of the built in equalizer settings (which isn't much). For less that $100 for one set of speakers, I am already enjoying my audio 100 times more! I can't wait to replace the dash speakers, too. The speakers offer rich, deep lows and comfortable, soft highs. I'm no audiophile, but for the money, these are really, really awesome! I HIGHLY recommend you replace those ridiculous 4" speakers in the 2018-current Wranglers.

Replaced the oem speakers on my big bend bronco (not B&O). Did the dash and roll bar. I did add some sound insulation stuffing, also a bass blocker to the dash speakers' wiring. They sound incredible! Clean and crisp! Pretty simple DIY. Was going to add an amp but they sound great with as is...we'll see!

Crisp and clear sound!
Paul from Longwood, FL on 4/28/2025
2017 Lexus GX460
They Sound Great! I replaced the OEM dash speakers out of my Lexus GX460 and was surprised on how much I was missing. The highs are much more clear and louder. It's almost sounds like my OEM speakers were muffled compared to the kickers. It was very easy to install except they were a bit too big for the space. I had to make a slight adjustment to the speaker bracket to get them to fit.
Pros: Great sound. A huge improvement to any stock system.
Cons: I had to modify the bracket to fit my dash. Other vehicles may not have that issue.

Big Sound Compact Size!
Douglas from Seal Beach, CA on 2/10/2025
2006 Scion xB
I recently installed the Kicker KSC40 speakers in my vehicle, and I couldn't be happier with the results! Despite their compact 4-inch size, these speakers deliver clear, crisp highs and well-defined mids, making a noticeable improvement over my factory setup. One of the standout features is the silk dome tweeters, which produce smooth, natural treble without being too harsh. Vocals sound clean and precise, and even at higher volumes, there's no noticeable distortion. While they aren't designed for deep bass, they handle mid-bass well when paired with a good subwoofer or amp. Installation was a breeze-these speakers fit perfectly into the factory mounts with minimal effort. If you're looking for a high-quality replacement for your stock speakers or need great-sounding compact speakers for tight spaces, the Kicker KSC40 is an excellent choice. Highly recommend!

Great Corner Dash Speakers for Lexus
Valentin from California on 10/18/2024
2016 Lexus ES300H
I got these to replace the corner dash speakers of a 2016 Lexus ES300h. I has to expand the openings in the mounting tabs to bit the original mounting bolts. It needed just a tiny bit of material to be taken out. Also removed the 2 extra mounting tabs to properly fit in the dash opening. The KSC40 sound much better than the original Lexus one. I was shocked how light the OEM ones were. The Kicker ones are close to twice heavier and one can definitely hear a much richer sound with more base and highs. Extremely pleased with the upgrade!

Better than stock
Joseph from Scottsdale, AZ on 9/30/2024
2024 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Used these to replace the stock speakers in the sound bar of a 2024 Jeep Rubicon 4-door. They fit well, but some modification is required but very doable for a novice (like me). I could tell a difference from the stock speakers, but these are definitely not enough if you are looking to transform the sound of your Jeep. I also added a sub, amp and new front speakers. Overall, the system is awesome now. The speakers in the sound bar were installed about a week after everything else, and it did improve the sound overall.
Pros: Sound better than stock. Fit well under factory grills.
Cons: Not plug and play. I had to clip the four metal mounting brackets around the speakers and then add the included mounting bracket to do the install. CF added an adapting wire harness that was easy to use. Toughest part was clipping 8 brackets off and having to figure that part out...

Great fit. I used the included 3-screw adapter rings and everything lined up perfectly - no need to drill/cut the soundbar. Crutchfield includes the instructions and wiring harness plugs, so the whole install was very easy! I am still in the "break-in" period (moderate volume & flat EQ settings), but the sound is already a big improvement over OEM. Better clarity and separation of the lows & mids. I am confident these will be even better at higher volume and with some tweaks to my sound settings!

I used these in my 2024 Bronco with the B&O system. The factory speakers were woofer only in the rear pods and coax in the dash. I have installed these as replacement rear pod speakers in a 2022 Ford Bronco. While you shouldn't get much sound from that position if your stage is correct, these do offer a little more rear fill in surround mode. These do fit behind the speaker grills and are an easy swap if you get the adapter harnesses. For increased sound, consider Hertz DCX 100.3 those are a little "brighter". Again, position in mind, these are a great upgrade over factory.

I installed a pair in my rear pillars hooked to my amp and 3 weeks later one of the cones stopped working, but tweeter still works. I think it was defective as the other pillar speaker sounds great and pushing just fine. If I take it out and push the cone down on the speaker it starts working again, if I let go the sound stops. I see a lot of reviews about weak sound, but these sound great and are really loud with the right amp and setup.

2021 Ford Bronco
I bought two sets of these speakers for my Bronco. The speakers were simple to install and wire up. Unfortunately, there is no wiring adapter available for the Bronco factory plug, but the speakers come with wire and connectors. I chatted with Nate at Crutchfield, and he said I didn't really need bass blockers on these speakers as they are capable of handling bass frequencies. I installed a Kicker Key 200.4 amp to power my system. The amp is small and I had no issues finding a spot to mount the amp behind the dash. I downloaded a pink noise file from Kicker's website and played it through my system and let the Key amp do it's magic. The factory stereo's sound is limited, but the amp was able to correct the sound output to the speakers. I added a Bazooka powered sub for some low end punch. I am pretty happy with the sound quality of my system.

Solid upgrade for older Porsche dash speakers.

2000 Porsche Boxster
Replaced aging speakers in a 2000 Porsche Boxter. No issues, fairly easy install with some modifications required. I cut the OEM speaker surround and glued this to the new speaker, which is slightly smaller in diameter so it must be carefully centered and everything went back together easily for a factory look. The sound is much improved.
Pros: Fits in early Porsche dash speaker housing.
Cons: Minor modifications needed. No crossover included.

Fits Jeep Wrangler JL
TP from Northern Virginia on 11/30/2022
2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (JL)
Total Jeep Wrangler JL install time is 20-30 minutes. I changed the 2 dash corner speakers and 4 soundbar speakers but left the knee speakers alone. With the Metra cables this was 100% plug and play. I went with the 4 inch Kicker KS speakers for the soundbar since it comes with a mounting bracket that perfectly fits the Wrangler JL (and it's their premium speaker). Then, I used the 3.5 inch Kicker CS speakers for the corner dash and soundbar because they do not require crossovers and fit perfectly (note: the 3.5 inch KS model requires crossover wiring and is a pain, so that's the main reason I went with the CS 3.5 inch models). These speakers sound great and are much louder and crisper than the stock speakers. They are punchy, but not a lot of low bass. Good mid bass sound with clarity. I turned the treble to -3 to reduce the bright sound. Added a pic of the equalizer setting that I thought sounded best. Overall, if you want better sound without an expensive professional upgrade (amp, sub, etc.) then I recommend these for fit, ease of install, price, and sound. The Crutchfield site (and other sites) say these speakers don't fit but they do! I think the dimensions might be off by like 1/18 of an inch or something and their system doesn't tag it as an "official fit". There are several YouTube videos of others installs as well as my pics here. These absolutely fit the Jeep Wrangler JL soundbar.
Pros: Plug and play. Easy install and sound great. Fits Jeep Wrangler JL.

They fit my 2004 Nissan Frontier Rear speakers without any problem. Needed the extra power capability (70W per channel) because the amp that I installed blew out the stock speakers. However, I really wanted more bass in these because I'm from the 60s era when funk was rocking the car driving down the road. These don't have the bass that I wanted. I guess I'll have to look at a sub woofer to put in the very back.
Pros: Excellent high range and high power capability.
Cons: Not enough bass for my desires.

Great New Speakers for an Old Rig

Fantastic upgrade to the speakers falling apart in my 1995 Land Rover Discovery. It was hard to find speakers that would fit in the doors and sound good. These do the trick. They were a little tight fit but they worked out. Rear pillars no problem, plenty of room. Sound is an amazing upgrade over the factory speakers. Should have done this 27 years ago. :)
Pros: Sound is great, fit as intended. Wiring supplied was great - didn't have to source it elsewhere for the installation.
Cons: There are none that I know of.

2004 Subaru Impreza WRX
I installed these in the rear door of a 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX. The speakers are OK for what they are. They are very small. The magnet could be beefier. The included adapter ring was way too small for the car door opening and was useless. This is the very reason I bought them in the first place. I cut up the factory speaker and used the plastic ring as the adapter. The tweeter has to be flush with the rest of the speaker so as not to hit the door panel and this pair worked for that reason. The free adapter wiring fits perfectly and saves cutting and splicing.

Replacements for B&O system in 2021 Ford Bronco
Jeremy from Little Rock, AR on 9/11/2022
2021 Ford Bronco
I bought these Kicker 4" speakers to replace the 4" speakers in the dash and roll bar in my 2021 Bronco with the B&O system. The roll bar speakers in that system are only a mid-range driver, with no tweeter. Because of that, replacing those made the biggest difference but I was also pleased with the improvement in sound over the factory speakers in the dash. I chose these Kicker speakers based on the compare and listen feature here on Crutchfield. They had the best overall tone for my ears - some of the others seemed to be a little bright. They also have the greatest potential to sound better with an amp, especially compared to some of the other lower end Kicker speakers I listened to. For the purpose of putting these in the Bronco, you don't really need any of the other accessories offered by Crutchfield. Even the $5 add on kit. There's really no room for the foam gasket tape to fit on the speaker and the speakers come with wire and butt connectors. I wish there was a wiring harness available - it would have made the install much easier. Overall, these are a good upgrade over the factory B&O speakers and I would do it again.
Pros: Improved sound Increased power handling Sounds good with factory system
Cons: No wiring harness available for 2021 Ford Bronco

I don't want to drill new holes to mount these speakers. The speaker that came out of my 1995 Toyota Tercel is 4" but the frame that the speaker is attached to is actually 5 1/4" and has a 3 hole mounting pattern. The 3 hole adapter that came with the Kicker speakers won't fit, it's too small and won't reach the 5 1/4 " mounting holes where the frame is attached.

I installed 4 four of these into a 1985 Porsche 928. This car had the base factory stereo which means no external amplifier and only 4 speakers vs 8. The stock door speakers were 3". With some quick modifications with a Dremel, the door panels could be fitted with these 4" speakers. No Depth Issues. You will need to remove the rear quarter panels to install the B Pillar speakers. These are also 4" stock. Also, no depth issues. I did add some sound deadening material in the b pillar opening. Using an external Sony 20wx4 RMS amplifier, these speakers give big sound from a small package. Very pleased.

These are an amazing investment for my 22 Ford Maverick. I paired them up with the Kicker Key 200.4 and they sound amazing. I was surprised how well they handle the entire frequency spectrum. I had to limit them around 400hz or they would rattle the plastic Ford enclosures which is beyond what I expected from a tiny Kicker. One of the speakers was blown upon purchase which was disappointing but Crutchfield replaced the damaged unit immediately.
Pros: Great sound and a perfect fit
Cons: Only one speaker worked upon purchase - Crutchfield came through immediately with a replacement that worked 100%

Very Disappointing. Tweeters go out when amplfied.
Levi from Rapid City, SD on 11/16/2021
I won't buy Kicker Door speakers ever again. I bough these earlier Oct this year. I installed them on my Rockford Fosgate Punch 4x400 4 channel amp. I set the high pass filter to 250hz an above as I only wanted these speakers as filler speakers in my rear doors. Well they sounded great until a tweeter went out on one of the speakers, I contacted Crutchfield and went through the whole diagnostic process to determine what was wrong with the speaker, Crutchfield promptly warrantied out the defective pair by sending me out a new set. Well I got the new ones the last week and promptly put them back in my doors, finally!! Good sounding speakers. Not as of today, I'm hearing the same thing from these speakers, just like a tweeter is out!! I'm not even gonna bother warranting the second pair out for again another faulty set. I read all the good reviews, but I don't think most people are probably running these with an amp. I didn't buy kicker door speakers for along time as I had a similar experience years ago and decided to give the KS series a shot. Well that was a mistake on my part to try them again. I've had this amp in 3 different cars running about 4 completely different sets of speakers over the years and have only had the same problems with kickers, every other set of speakers have lasted and been great. Honestly if Crutchfield would warranty these out for a completely different set of 4" speakers I'd be happy. I'm extremely disappointed in Kickers quality.
Pros: Not much. They sounded great for awhile, but I'm really starting to doubt they are 75w RMS at 4ohm. I'm taking a guess most people don't amplify these or at least to the higher wattage of 50w - 75w rms.
Cons: Tweeters went out on two sets in about two weeks. I don't even play my music that loud and just the fact I had them set at 250hz and above on the high pass filter and only running a max of 50w rms at 4ohm on speakers. They advertise 75w rms at 4ohm, but I'm taking a wild guess that's the 75W RMS is for the pair and not individually. That was the whole reason I picked them up, for the higher RMS rating. Very disappointing!!

These fit well in the dash locations of my Festiva. Because the tweeter doesn't barely protrudes (low "mount height"), it doesn't press against the car's plastic grill and make it bulge out. installed on 18 Wrangler JL. Soundbar fit perfect using the supplied install ring and quick connects Crutchfield supplied. Front knee speakers were a chore to install......jeep decided to make you take the entire dash apart including passenger air bags to get to these speakers. this location is NOT an exact fit. The speaker frame is just slightly too big. They fit about 90% in the hole...you will need to trim a couple of the install tabs...but be careful which ones as you will need to screw into the plastic on these ones to install. After going thru all this I think using a dremel to open the holes would be better, though you will have a nice mess. Plan some time as these 2 speaker took me 4x the amount of time to install than all other 6 did. speakers sound way better than stock and are louder. But the stock uconnect3 is way under powered. I def be installing and amp and sub at some point. Worth the $ and Crutchfield supplying quick connects and a master install sheet make it all worth it
Pros: sound great. 10x more durable than stock .
Cons: Not a direct fit on knee panel for 18 wrangler jl some mods needed either to Jeep or speaker

2019 Wrangler JLU overhead pod
Crutchfield customer from Bethany, CT on 10/22/2020
2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Slight modification to mounting position required removing a small lineup tab for factory speaker. Fit the existing mount, and sound a little brighter than the factor "woofer only" which is what was expected. Mounted these in the overhead speaker pod along with the matching model kicker 3.5" coax. Overall sound is good, (Theatrical) is a good description. The low end is good, and the high end crisp, and clear without being harsh, but is still lacking a good "mid bass" sound. Plan is to remove the 3.5", and the 4" make a spacer plate to cover all under the factory grille, and mount 6.5" kicker coax. The port will than be useless, but actually sounds better without anyway. Hence the grey foam plug supplied by the factory. By the way these are fed with 100 watts with the 3.5", and 4"in parallel with no bass blockers required, none of the speakers are overpowered enough to hit the end of travel and pop. The lower model (cs series) 3.5 in the front dash required bass blockers, and still sometimes hit the end of travel and pop so these do handle more power than the lower end kickers. Those are paralleled with Alpine R series 6.5" coax in newly installed Metra speaker pods in lower dash. Honestly like the kicker sound better than the alpine, due to placement the alpines really only hear the bass. Probably should have used 6.5 woofer, or mid bass in those pods. (amp is soundstream nano PN4.1000D) fits under steering column where factory alpine would be. (ran new power wires).
Pros: Good sound, reasonably priced, handle decent power.
Cons: A little bright, adapter ring could be a little thicker

Installed these in my 560SL. Coupled with the Continental TR7412UB head unit, a huge smile ran across my face when I fired them up. It's a tight fit, but these do fit into an R107. Soldered the original Mercedes speaker connectors directly to these so I wouldn't have to molest any factory wiring. The Continental head unit is also running an adapter kit from Crutchfield so I didn't have to cut anything there as well. WOW. What a full, rich sound. I am used to the factory Blaupunkt 6 speaker layout in my EuroVan, and these, in some respects, blow those out of the water. The fact that these are 4 inchers and still pump out the range they do is beyond me. The engineers over at Kicker deserve a huge pat on the back.

Great for JL Wranglers

2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Been looking for upgraded speakers in my 2019 Wrangler Rubicon with the Alpine system. The dash and the soundbar tweeters are easy as they are 3.5" however the 4" soundbar speakers only have 3 mounting screws, and most 4" speakers come with 4 mounting points. With these having the mounting ring included, they were a perfect fit with no mods needed. So if you have the newer JL Wrangler, these are a must. You will need to add bass blockers, and Crutchfield provides the speaker harness for a plug and play install!!!
Pros: Very easy install, with no extra drilling or mods.
Cons: None

Installed in my Wrangler Jl with slight modification
Rob from Boston on 6/22/2020
Was able to install them into the overhead sound bar of my 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited after cutting off two of the securing brackets on the speakers and then using the included adapter ring to mount. No need to make any modifications to the sound bar. These speakers sound great especially with the upgraded alpine sub and amplifier I installed.

1985 Monte Carlo Upgrade
Crutchfield customer from Lothian, MD on 6/20/2020
Fey happy with these. Have been partial to Kicker for a while. Using these in pairs, left and right rear. Great sound. Driving them with recommended amp from Antonio, my Crutchfield rep. Using the Sound Ordnance M100-2. Went with Sound Ordnance as it is Crutchfield's brand. And it's my fault for not asking or noticing, but these do not come with grille covers. Would probably have gone with one that had grille covers, but still work fine for my application.
Pros: Great Sound
Cons: No grille covers

Fantastic upgrade

I needed to upgrade the stock speakers in my '05 Jeep TJ and did a ton of homework. I wanted something that could be driven by an aftermarket deck or external power amp if I decided to add one later. I'm into music production and very picky about how things sound. Since these would be for a Jeep I knew I was not going for studio sound quality as no Jeep will provide a good enough listening environment. I wanted something that would at least sound very good in my application and decided to not spend a ton of money. This all said, I decided to take a chance on this new offering and am glad I did. As I write this I still find myself shocked at how great these sound, even in my Jeep. I'll elaborate a little bit. These are installed in my Jeep's dash corners and they are joined by their 5.25"siblings in the overhead pods. I drive them with a Kenwood Excelon deck using only deck power and cross them over I think at 150hz. Since no 4" speaker will put out much bass, removing the lower frequencies allows the system to run more efficiently and lets the larger rears and 8" (aftermarket) sub do their work. Setup like this, they are plenty loud and provide amazing clarity. What's more, and this was the real shock to me: somehow they have this outstanding "warmth" to them. Tone is difficult to describe in words, but they take on the sonic quality of a good speaker in a well build wooden cabinet, yet these are bolted into the dash corners of a Jeep. In summary, these are am
Pros: Great sound quality and performance with aftermarket deck power
Cons: None - Just know these do not come with grills
