Features

Woofer Mounting: The speaker baskets have multiple mounting holes and are designed to fit a standard 3-hole 6½" applications and Ford's 4-hole 6½" application. With the extended mounting "ears" around the perimeter of the frame, they also fit many 6¾" applications, but a speaker baffle should be used to seal the inner ring of screw holes. Kicker also makes a dedicated 6¾" speaker in this series (item number 20651KSS67) that is often a better fit for those applications. Adapter brackets are also included that are compatible with other factory speaker applications. Please enter your vehicle information to confirm fit.

Tweeter Mounting Options: The tweeters include brackets to allow multiple mounting configurations; flush-mount, angle-mount, and surface-mount. The surface mount pods are mounted to a threaded, hollow shaft and have a ball-and-socket joint, so they can be turned in any direction, and angled to approximately 40˚.

Tweeter Dimensions:

  Flush Angle Surface
Mounting Height 0.25" 0.625" 3.15"
Mounting Depth 0.6" 0.65" 0.75"
Frame Diameter 2.045" 2.1" 2.3" x 1.9"
Cutout Diameter 1.662" 1.787" 0.475"

Coaxial Tweeter Mount: In addition to standard tweeter mounting options, the included tweeter mounting posts let you mount the tweeters directly to the center of the woofers, giving you a standard coaxial speaker. The tweeter can be angled up to 12° when coaxially mounted. When the tweeter is attached to the woofer the mounting height increases to 1.078" (top mount) and the tweeter protrusion increases to 0.72" (bottom mount).

Crossovers: The component system includes 12 dB/octave passive crossovers for the tweeters. (Both the woofers and tweeters are wired through the crossovers, but only the tweeters are filtered.) The crossover point is 4,000 Hz. A switch on each crossover allows you to adjust the tweeter output; 0 dB, +4.5 dB, or +9 dB. Each crossover has input and output wires are attached; the 34" woofer outputs have quick slides that connect directly to the woofer terminals and the 32" tweeter outputs have quick slides that mate to the terminals on the wire attached to the tweeters. The 34" input wires are not terminated. The crossovers' dimensions are:

  • Length: 4"
  • Width: 2⅞"
  • Height: 1⅛"

Q
Hello, I bought from you guys a set of Kicker KSS650 KS Series 6-1/2" 2-way component speaker system and pair them with a set of Kicker KSC460 KS Series 4"x6" 2-way car speakers to be run with Alpine iLX-W670 Digital Multimedia Receiver on my silverado hence, my questions is, what would be a good amplifer to power all those together? I do appreciate your advice.

That setup can work with any 4 channel amp that outputs up to 75 watts RMS per channel at 4 ohms. There are a lot of choices! We have product advisors here that can be reached by calling 1-800-324-9695 who can discuss all your goals for the sound and give you a personal recommendation on an amp

Greetings Ana. Thank you for checking. We have not researched the MG3. It is possible these fit, but you may have to fabricate adapters, and possibly custom fit.

What is the rating each speaker? I'm planning on running an active system.
henry  Dec 15, 2024

A
Hey Henry, both the woofer and tweeter can handle a full 125w RMS load if you are planning on running them active according to Kicker.

Q
Hi there, I have some questions, 1- will the kicker key 200.4 supply enough power using the passive crossover that come with these? I mean would they sound nice with only 50RMS? and what difference should i expect if i upgraded the AMP for more RMS power? Does more RMS means better quality and clarity of sound or just louder? Thank you

A
I am happy to help with your questions on the Kicker KSS650 speakers, Youssef. The Kicker KSS650 speakers feature a high efficiency and would sound great when powered from the 50-watts RMS from the Kicker KEY 200.4 amplifier. Since these components can handle a maximum of 125-watts RMS, for peak performance you could use a more powerful amp. Increasing the RMS wattage provides more volume, quality, and clarity at all levels to maximize the potential sonic performance of the speakers. The AudioControl LC-4.800 4-channel amp in the link below would be an excellent choice! https://www.crutchfield.com/p_161LC4800/AudioControl-LC-4-800.html

Q
I have a 2018 Subaru Forester XT with the Harman Kardon system, factory amp, and component speakers. I installed the Kicker KSS269 to the front door and dash without the passive crossover, and the sound coming out is phenomenal. With the KSS650, the crossovers are different than the KSS269. Should I install these crossovers as an extra filter to the factory tweeter wiring or should I just leave them out of the equation?
allen  Nov 25, 2024
1 answer
A
Greetings Allen. Thank you form your purchase. Technically if you are using the factory amplifier, just the tweeters would need some type of filter (crossover) the door woofers would not. If you swap the factory amp at some point, then you should use 100% of those Kicker crossovers for both woofers and tweeters.

Q
I am currently trying to mount these tweeters in my Hyundai ioniq 2018 but I'm not sure as to the depth or size of the screw hole that is on the back of the tweeter anyone have the dimensions?
joseph  Nov 01, 2024
1 answer
A
So the screws for that hole should have been included in the box. They use M4x7mm Machine screws for the back of those tweeters.

Q
I have a 2020 jeep gladiator with the "upgraded" alpine system with the subwoofer and amplifier. Can I wire in these speakers individually without the crossovers or do I have to use them?
joseph  Aug 09, 2024
1 answer
A
Greetings Joseph. Thank you for your question. If using the factory Alpine amplifier, you will need to use the crossovers at least for the new Kicker tweeters. The factory tweeters have a direct output from the factory amplifier, and the factory amplifier is the crossover now. We do not have the crossover point for the factory tweeters, so the Kicker crossovers would be an extra filter in case the factory amp send out a bit lower frequencies than the Kicker tweeters can really take.
thomas  Aug 09, 2024 (Staff)
Q
Is the rms rating per speaker or as a pair?
j  Jun 07, 2024
1 answer
A
That 125w RMS in this case is for the crossover so that it can distribute the load to the woofer and tweeter.
