Features

Overview: The Kicker LX1300.7 (51LX13007) 7-channel amplifier is designed in-house from the ground up, providing premium amplification, system design flexibility, DSP-powered features, and the ability to monitor and control the amplifier remotely. It features Kicker's FIT+ technology (Fail-safe Integration Technology-Plus), accepting low- and high-level signals up to 40 V with full differential inputs to help eliminate noise. Safety features include a comprehensive protection circuit for thermal (over-heating), short-circuit, and voltage stability.

Power Output (@ 14.4 volts, =1.0% THD+N):

  • 125 watts RMS x 4 + 65 watts RMS x 2 + 300 watts x 1 @ 4-ohms
  • 150 watts RMS x 4 + 65 watts RMS x 2 + 550 watts x 1 @ 2-ohms
  • 250 watts RMS x 2 (Amp1&2) + 130 watts RMS x 1 (Amp3) @ 4-ohms (bridged)
  • 700 watts RMS x 1 @ 1-ohm (Sub)

Amplifier Controls: The following controls and indicators are located on the amplifier chassis

  • DC Offset: A push-button switch (on/off) determines how the amp will be activated; Off lets you activate the amp with a 12 V signal on the remote turn-on terminal; On allows the amp to be activated with a >2.5 VDC signal on the high-level (speaker-level) inputs. When DC Offset is On, the remote turn-on terminal becomes a 100 mA remote output for activating additional amps.
  • Input Gain Controls: Four rotary input Gain controls (Amp1, Amp2, Amp3, and Sub); continuously variable from 125 mV to 5 V with low-level signals and 1-40 V with high-level signals. The Gain controls feature Kicker's Gain Match technology which will illuminate the Gain dial when the signal reaches the clipping point and should be lowered.
  • Input Selection: Four push-buttons (Amp1, Amp2, Amp3, and Sub) determine how many input channels will be used to feed the seven amplifier channels. All amp channels can be fed by one, two, three, or four pairs of inputs, either high- or low-level.
  • Reset: A push-button can be pressed and held for 10 seconds to reset the settings back to factory default.
  • Color & Brightness (LED Accent Lighting): LED Lighting underneath the top logo panel can add colored accent lighting to your amplifier. Two push-button controls let you adjust the LED Color and Brightness. Available colors include: Red, Blue, Green, Dark Green, Orange, Magenta, Light Blue, White, Violet, Cyan, and Yellow. The top logo panel is magnetic, letting you easily flip the panel around depending on the amp's mounting orientation.
  • Power/Protect LED: A single LED lights Green when the amp is powered on and working nominally; lights Red if the amp detects a problem and goes into protect mode.

LXCC Control Center Settings: All of the audio DSP settings for the Kicker LX1300.7 are made through the included LXCC (LX Control Center) wired remote control. The LXCC connects to the amp via an attached 39" RJ-45 cable after the amp is installed. The LXCC features a crisp, legible display panel along with 4 push-buttons and 4 rotary/push-button controls for navigating the settings and dialing in your sound. LXCC options include:

  • Diagnostic Readouts: Lets you monitor battery voltage, amp temperature and protection status in real-time. A Clip indicator on the LXCC will light if the output signal on the selected channel starts to distort.
  • Audio Controls:
    • Gain Trim: The Gain Trim feature for Amp1, Amp2, and Amp3 channels lets you cut the signal by up to -9 dB or boost it by up to +3 dB, letting you make fine-tune adjustments to each channel.
    • X-Over: Amp1, Amp2, and Amp3 channels can be configured for Full-Range or with High-Pass, Low-Pass, or Band-Pass crossovers (The Sub channel has a fixed Low-Pass filter), along with the frequency cutoff point. Available crossover cutoff points for Amp1&2 and Sub include:
      • HPF: 20 Hz-5 kHz
      • LPF: 40 Hz-5 kHz
      • BPF: 20 Hz-5 kHz
      • LPF (Sub): 40-160 Hz
      • Subsonic Filter (Sub): 10 Hz-80 Hz
    • KickEQ+™: Bass boost for Sub channel; variable from 0 to +6 dB; center frequency selectable from 20-80 Hz; Q (width) variable from 1-5.
    • X-Over Type & Slope: Two crossover Types are available for HPF, LPF, BPF, and Subsonic filtering with the following slopes:
      • Butterworth: 12, 18, 24 dB per octave.
      • Linkwitz-Riley: 12 & 24 dB per octave.
    • Time Delay: Lets you delay the left channel of the stereo outputs by up to 10 ms, in 0.1 ms increments, from the right channel. This lets you adjust the center stage location based on preferences and listening position.
    • Channel Mode/Phase: Lets you select how Amp1&2 channels will be output: Stereo, L+R Summed, L-R Summed (inverted).

Notes:

  • All of the LX1300.7 audio DSP settings are made using the LXCC Control Center connected to the amplifier; the amp has no audio controls on the chassis.
  • The LXCC is designed to be temporarily connected to the amplifier, using the attached 39" RJ-45 cable, for performing the initial settings and configuration and is not intended to be permanently connected.

LXCC Dimensions:

  • Width: 7.17" (including cord)
  • Height: 1.20"
  • Depth: 3.38"
  • Cord (attached): 39"
  • Connector: RJ-45

SHOCwave2.0T (Sub-Harmonic Octave Creation): The LX1300.7 features Kicker's second-generation digital bass restoration algorithm that recovers lost, low-bass frequencies vital for full, rich sound quality.

Mounting: The efficient Class-D amplifier features four mounting holes, one in each corner, for attaching it to a flat surface using the supplied hardware.

Auto Turn-on: The amplifier has two methods of turning on: +12V and DC Offset. The preferred method is to run an 18-gauge wire from the remote turn-on lead of the source unit to the Remote (REM) terminal on the amp. When a +12V signal is detected on the wire, the amplifier will turn on. If your source unit lacks a remote turn-on lead (a factory head unit, for example), you can choose to turn on the amplifier via the DC Offset method. When a DC offset is detected (>2.5 volts) on the speaker level inputs, the amplifier automatically turns on.

Vehicle Integration: The LX1300.7 amplifier features Kicker's FIT+ (Fail-safe Integration Technology-Plus) technology, providing near-universal compatibility with stock and aftermarket radios. Start/Stop vehicle compatibility and the ability to accept factory input signals as high as 40-volts make the LX1300.7 compatible with almost every vehicle and factory or aftermarket radio.

Wire Connections: The LX1300.7 features set-screw terminals for power, ground, turn-on (REM), and the speaker output. The power and ground terminals can accommodate wire up to 1/0-gauge (recommended), while the remote turn-on and speaker output terminals can accommodate wire up to 10-gauge.

External Fuse: The amplifier does not include a built-in fuse, therefore an external fuse should be placed on the power wire, within 18" of the battery. It is recommended that a 1/0-gauge amplifier wiring kit and a 150A external fuse be used when installing the amplifier.

Input Signal: The Kicker LX1300.7 accepts either high (speaker-level) signals on a 10" input harness, or low (line-level) input signals on the eight RCA inputs. The input sensitivity is 125 mV-5 V (low) or 1-40 V (high).

LXRC Wired Remote Control: The Kicker LX1300.7 includes an LXRC (LX Remote Control) that lets you control select features on the amplifier. The LXRC rotary control can be mounted near the driver's seat using the included 19.5' RJ-45 connection cable and features a rotary dial with a corresponding ring of LED segments around it. Adjustments that can be made using the LXRC include:

  • Voltage: The LED light ring segments can be used to display the current input voltage from 11-16 volts, with each LED segment indicating a 0.5 V change.
  • SHOCwave2.0T (Sub-Harmonic Octave Creation): SHOCwave2.0 is Kicker's second-generation digital bass restoration algorithm that recovers lost low-bass frequencies that are vital to full musical sound. The rotary control will adjust the level of the restored frequencies.
  • Gain: The LXRC can act as a Gain attenuator, with a range of 0 dB to -26 dB.
  • Clip: A Clip LED indicator on the dial will let you know if the input signal is too high and needs to be lowered below the distortion point.
  • Brightness: The LXRC can be used to change the brightness level of the built-in logo LEDs on the top panel.

LXRC Mounting & Dimensions: The LXRC remote control includes a mounting bracket for suspending the remote underneath a dash or console. The remote can also be removed from the bracket and flush-mounted to a flat dash or panel using the included mounting collars (a 1.0" diameter hole will need to be drilled for flush-mounting the remote).

  • Dimensions with bracket: 2.14" (w) x 1.59" (h) x 3.55" (d) (including knob and cord)
  • Dimensions without bracket: 1.18" (outer diameter) x 3.55" (d) (including knob and cord)
  • Cutout Diameter (flush-mount): 1.0"

Certified Power: Each amplifier is tested when it comes off of the assembly line. Tests are run for Total Harmonic Distortion, Signal-to-Noise Ratio, Protection Circuit, and Total Power Output. A Certified Power certificate with model and serial number is included with each amp with the measured power output figure, and a pass/fail grade for the other tests.
