Kicker another great product

Just got kicker box installed on my old reliable 2001 f150 super crew. Good solid bass with a small footprint. Well-designed enclosure fits under rear seat not compromising too much space. Overall, very satisfied with results. Thank you Crutchfield for great customer service and also thanks to Rhett who helped me and recommended this box.

Pros: Internal amp, clean and well-built box

Cons: No cons

Installed in my 1988 Camaro. After tweaking the settings on my Kenwood head unit, this thing really does hit hard. For the price and ease of installation, you will be pleasantly surprised by the bass this unit puts out. I am more into the hard hitting bass and this exceeded my expectations. Side note: after installation, adjust your settings on whatever head unit you have to achieve just the right sound you're looking for. Also, less gain is your friend. Don't max it out thinking you're going to max out bass. This will only result in distortion and the amp cutting out to protect itself as well as the woofer. Play your favorite song and make adjustments until you reach your perfect sound. I highly recommend this set up for affordable, great hard hitting bass production. Don't forget to order a installation kit to power it.

Good Bump for the Money

I got this to stick in the tiny trunk of my Toyota GT86. I just wanted a richer deeper sound and this Kicker DELIVERED! Install was a piece of cake with everything that came with it. I ordered my own wiring kit for the power, ground and coaxial. It isn't going to shatter glass, but it is more than enough to rattle the trunk (I prob need to put some matting in). 100% happy with the level of base this produces for what I was trying to do. There is definitely enough bass to turn it down when the 5-0 is near.

Pros: Easy install, slim design saves trunk space.

Cons: You have to screw into the trunk deck to secure it.

I love that the visual of the speaker matches my interior perfectly. I also love the compact size of the speaker and easy (professional) installation. The sound is AWESOME and the ability to adjust the bass with the bass knob is very convenient. Lastly, the shipping was amazingly quick (within a few days).

For one thing, it sure makes a big difference with the addition of a subwoofer. This is not basshead type of sound but it does improve the music I'm listening to. I went ahead with the recommendation of Crutchfield for my car. I did not need to use a power turn on wore. I just tapped one of the rear speaker line into the sub. I can still here some voices in the sub when I use the speaker level line but can't complain since the sub is an all in one. While I wished it was a 12 inch sub the 10 inch will suffice. But I sure wish Kicker had a powered 12 inch with 400rms then I would totally go for it . Yes even though it improves my audio with the 10, I still can't get over of wanting a 12 inch sub.

The unit seems good - install directions were a little confusing

Dan from Bonita Springs, FL on 1/27/2025

Bought this unit to fit in the trunk of a Mini Cooper R57. Dimensions fit just between the brackets for ties downs and baby seat from the back seat. And the height was still under the hatch lid ( photos attached ). The reason for 4 stars is do to Crutchfield and Kicker adamantly disagreeing on how to wire - and both refused to get on a 3 way call. I'd think each company would be interested in giving consistent advice - but neither cared. Kicker said to use the the dual rear RCA's out of the head unit, while Crutchfield said to use the subwoofer out and use a y adapter. Both had their own reasoning ( Kicker said the subwoofer internals were better designed for a R and L input, with their internal crossover. Crutchfield said that since it is mono and the y adapter would double the voltage - it would act like R & L ). Note - when I asked Crutchfield if it was better to use the y adapter at the head unit or at the subwoofer - they were stumped. Just heuristically, I'd think it would be better to split at the head unit and run two coaxes to the subwoofer for both minimizing loss and minimizing potential interference. Running from the Subwoofer out does have the advantage of having a separate signal from the head unit equalizer ( something Kicker did not understand ). In the end - I ended up doing neither - going with a LOC ( from Crutchfield ) and taping from the front speakers. Worked well - as I tuned the woofers down below 85 hz with sub tun

Pros: Fit and Finish Does a nice job of filling the low end up to 85 hz and allows the woofers to focus on 85 hz and above ( removes that muddiness )

Cons: Directions Kicker gives one harness for RCA's in and tells you to cut it if you use speaker input. They should provide two harnesses - one for each application

Great low bass and hide away in the trunk. The bass sounds great with my Infinity Reference speakers and tweeters. The bass unit did not take up a lot of space in the trunk of my Civic and still use the top of the unit for storage.

Pros: Great low bass

Sounds great, easy addition to my '21 Sienna. Just tapped into the rear door speakers with the high level input, no need for a remote turn on and works well with the factory OEM head unit. I did replace my front dash and door speakers also, but no other amps and I gotta say it came out great with minimal work.

Pros: Easy install Sounds great, plenty of power even in my minivan Can leave it in place and just stack stuff on it

Cons: Nothing major, certainly larger than an under seat option but since it's down firing and you can stack stuff on it that helps.
