Features

Overview: The Kicker 49L7TDF102 down-firing subwoofer enclosure is loaded with one 10" L7T Solo-Baric subwoofer. The L7T (Thin) subwoofer can provide deep powerful bass in a compact enclosure, while taking up minimal mounting space.

Down-Firing Enclosure: The sealed down-firing enclosure is made of heavy-duty MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) with extensive internal bracing, providing exceptional acoustic efficiency and deep powerful bass. The enclosure is covered in sleek black carpeting for added protection and a refined look. Its compact, down-firing form allows it to be mounted in cargo areas, or under seats. Four rubber spacers are included that mount to the bottom of the enclosure, providing additional enclosure height.

Speaker Terminals: A single pair of spring-posts are mounted on the underside of the enclosure in a recessed terminal cup, accepting pin connectors, single banana plugs, or bare wire up to 10 gauge. The subwoofer's dual voice coils are internally wired to present a 2Ω load at the spring posts.

Power: The Kicker 10" L7T subwoofer can handle 250W-500W RMS (1000W peak).

Square Design: By making the Solo-Baric square, Kicker is giving you the most possible cone area (Sd) for a given size baffle, 16% to 20% more area than a conventional round subwoofer. More cone area means the Solo-Baric L7T moves more air, resulting in louder, deeper bass.

Cone Material: The square SoloKon design, with 360-degree back bracing, is a unique one-piece construction, using injection molded polypropylene that moves as a lightweight piston, for improved control. The cone remains rigid, minimizing cone flex and distortion. A rear cone brace integrates into the cone with a continuous contact perimeter weld, which improves strength and resistance to deformation under pressure.

Cooling: Kicker's unique Forced Air Cooling provides airflow around the voice coil based on cone motion, drawing cool air in and forcing hot air out. A UniPlate™ solid pole piece and backplate also provide excellent heat dissipation around the voice coil and magnet.

Surround: The tough, flexible Santoprene rubber surround has a long-throw, positive-roll design, which controls extreme cone excursion and is highly tear-resistant. The corners of the surround are ribbed to ensure linear cone motion. The surround is stitched to the reinforced cone edge, making separation between them virtually impossible, even in the harshest conditions.

Q
Can I add a wired remote control switch?
david  May 31, 2025
1 answer
A
This is a passive subwoofer and needs an amp to power it. Those amps often have trigger inputs to turn them on and a lot of them come with a wired remote level controller too. I recommend contacting a product advisor by calling 1-800-324-9695 to get a personal recommendation on the gear needed to install it

Q
Can it be rewired to 4 ohms?
jules  May 17, 2025
1 answer
A
Hey Julio, that is not going to be possible as this sub is a dual 4-ohm that is wired in series already giving you a 2-ohm load. If your goal is to get a 4-ohm variant, you will need to grab one of the dual 2-ohm subs below, build or buy your own box and get that sub wired up in series to 4-ohm in your new enclosure. https://www.crutchfield.com/I-rET1c402/p_20646LT102/Kicker-46L7T102.html?tp=68872

Q
What is the exact speaker thatâ??s in this enclosure?
justin  Feb 05, 2025
1 answer
A
Hey Justin, it will be the 10" L7T shallow mount found below wired in parallel for that 2-ohm impedance: https://www.crutchfield.com/I-rET1c402/p_20646LT104/Kicker-46L7T104.html?tp=68872

Q
Can I get one with a dual 2 ohm voice coil speaker? Looking for 1 ohm total. If so I need one.
jeremy  Nov 07, 2024
1 answer
A
This is not offered in a 1 ohm model. We do have some loaded sub boxes wired to a 1 ohm load. At the time of this reply, none are built to be a down firing subwoofer. However that may change in the future and I recommend contacting an advisor by calling 1-800-324-9695 to check.

Q
Are these speakers dual voice coil?
alex  Oct 31, 2024
1 answer
A
Greetings Alex. Thank you for your question. This includes a dual voice coil 4 ohm subwoofer, just like the version that comes without an enclosure.

Q
Will this fit under any if the seats in a 2006 Lincoln mark Lt?
jerimy  Sep 25, 2024
1 answer
A
Greetings Jerimy. Thank you for your question, but one thing we have not done is measure under vehicle seating. The box dimensions are 23.5"W x 6.38"H x 14.5"D. Unfortunately you will have to measure under your seats to see if it can fit.
thomas  Sep 25, 2024 (Staff)
Q
How do you remove the speaker from the enclosure?
alex  Aug 17, 2024
1 answer
A
Greetings Alex. Thank you for your question. There is a trim ring covering the screw holes. You would have to remove the trim ring then the screws attaching the subwoofer to the enclosure.
thomas  Aug 17, 2024 (Staff)
Q
Does this have a built in amp? I guess the question I gave is are they passive or require a separate amp?
james  Mar 13, 2024
1 answer
A
This Kicker 49L7TDF102 subwoofer is passive and requires an external amp, James. This 2-ohm enclosure can handle a maximum of 500-watts RMS, and the JL Audio JD500/1 in the link below would be a great match! https://www.crutchfield.com/p_13698362/JL-Audio-JD500-1.html

Will it work in a trunk of a 2004 Malibu? I need space so I looking for sub with enclosure

A
Greetings Patrick. Thank you for your question. Of course. This is not just for fitting under a truck seat, but it can also go in a trunk, or hatchback.

Q
I have currently have two Memphis Audio PRXS 10" Sub Shallow Subwoofer 500W Peak 250W RMS PRXSE10S2 in my 2023 GMC Sierra. They are okay but I want more bass. My current speakers cut out on certain base tones and I was wondering how these compare to my current speakers?
james  Mar 10, 2024
1 answer
A
Hey James, great question. So from a low-profile sub standpoint, Kicker's L7's can be a very impactful subwoofer and tends to be one of the harder hitting options. However one thing I would verify first is that we have the correct amp pushing the Memphis subs you own, as that could be a what may be holding you back. We have advisors who can be reached by calling 1-800-324-9695 that can help go over the best sub or amps for your goals.

Q
Will it fit in a 2017 tundra crewmax?
steve  Jul 29, 2023
1 answer
A
We do not have fit information for this subwoofer going into your truck. We recommend checking your truck using the measurements of this subwoofer/enclosure (23.5"W x 6.38"H x 14.5"D).

Q
Will this fit under the seat of a 2013 Silverado Crew Cab?
jose_  Jun 25, 2023
1 answer
A
Unfortunately, we do not have official measurements of the underseat space in your truck. However, we do have measurements for this sub enclosure that you can reference to measure under your truck seat. These measurements are 23.5"W x 6.38"H x 14.5"D.

Q
Does this have to be facing down? or can it stand behind the rear seat of my Tundra?
mando  Jun 23, 2023
1 answer
A
Thank you for your question, Mando. This model is recommended to be used as downward firing. I recommend reaching out to an Advisor at 1-800-324-9695 or by online chat so they can discuss other options for your Tundra.

Q
Will this fit behind the back seat of a 2019 toyota tacoma double cab?
bryan j.  Feb 15, 2023
2 answers
A
I just got these the other day. I drive a 2023 GMC Sierra extended cab which is smaller extended than the crew cab and they fit perfectly under my seats.
james  Mar 25, 2024
A
Greetings Bryan, and thank you for your question. our vehicle research team has found that there is no room behind or under the back seat for an aftermarket subwoofer. If you have 3 inches of distance from the floor, to the bottom of the front seat, you can squeeze an under seat powered sub there.
thomas  Feb 15, 2023 (Staff)
Q
Will the factory amp in 2010 f150 king ranch work with this speaker?
bucky  Jan 12, 2023
1 answer
A
This would not be compatible with the factory amplifier. The factory subwoofer has two voicecoils and four wires feeding into it. This subwoofer enclosure only has one set of terminals. It would not be advisable to attempt connecting this subwoofer to those wires in any fashion. If you're going to use this subwoofer in your vehicle, and aftermarket amplifier would be required.
