Overview: The Morel MPD series amplifiers are designed to deliver high-end audio performance in a compact package that can be mounted almost anywhere in your vehicle.

Controls & Indicators: All of the MPD1.500 controls are located on one end of the amplifier:

• Power LED (Run): lights blue when the amp is powered on and operating properly
• Protect LED (Alarm): lights red when the amplifier detects a fault related to over current, short circuit, overheating, or an internal fault.
• Input Voltage: 2-way switch; Low for pre-amp input signals, with a range of 350mV to 3.5V; High for speaker-level input signals, with a range of 700mV to 7V
• Gain: rotary control; variable from 350mV to 7V based on Input Voltage setting
• Crossovers:
  • LPF: rotary frequency control; variable from 40 Hz to 220 Hz; the low pass filter is always engaged (it cannot be bypassed)
  • Sub Sonic: rotary frequency control; variable from Off to 50 Hz; used to remove extremely low frequencies that can't be cleanly reproduced by the subwoofer
• Bass Boost: increase the bass level between 0dB and +12dB via the rotary control; centered at 45 Hz

Wire Connections: The MPD1.500 has set screw terminals for power, ground, turn-on (REM), and speaker outputs. The power and ground terminals will accept up to 8-gauge wire (recommended), and the turn-on and speaker outputs will accept up to 10-gauge wire. There are two pairs of speaker terminals internally wired in parallel to the single mono channel. All connection set screws are loosened/tightened using a Philips-head screw driver (not included).

Turn-On Method: The Morel amplifier offers two methods for activation; if using low-level input signals, a 12-volt trigger must be connected to the REM input on the amp; if running speaker-level input signals, the amp can be activated by a DC offset signal on the inputs.

External Fuses: The amplifier includes two 30A ATO fuses externally installed in the chassis.

Input Signal: The amp's RCA inputs accept line-level and speaker-level inputs based on the Input Voltage setting; 350mV to 3.5V (pre-amp) and 700mV to 7V (speaker-level). If running speaker-level inputs, a speaker-wire-to-RCA adapter will be required and is sold separately (see Accessories).

Optional Wired Remote: The Morel MPD1.500 amplifier can be used with the optional MPS-R1 remote subwoofer level control (sold separately), letting you adjust the amp output level from the driver's seat. The MPD1.500 features a 3.5mm port for the remote level control connection.
