Installed one of these in wife's Highlander Limited to replace the piece of junk JBL system's rear hatch sub which really was nothing more than a tag rattler. What we ended up with far exceeded my expectations. The Morel is driving a NVX 10 inch in a custom fit enclosure made for the corner of the cargo area of the Highlander so we would not take up cargo space. Bottom end is tight and right and just when you think it's gone as low as it can, it goes even lower. The 550 watts into the NVX's 2 ohm load is a earth shaker. Very impressed with the slew rate, S/N ratio and at rated power only .15 % THD which is very low for a class D amp. I drove it hard a few times on a long drive then put my hand on top of it. It was warm but not hot. Nice job Morel!

I purchased this amp to power a single JL Audio 10w6v3 subwoofer in a sealed enclosure. I wanted to add high quality bass to my SUV's Harmon Kardon factory system. I used a Wavtech Link2 and an aftermarket wiring harness to tie into the factory subwoofer outputs. The combination sounds excellent! The quality of the bass and output level exceeds expectations. The amp is well built, well designed, and sounds very clean. I picked this amp based on its power rating, very high S/N ratio, and compact size.

Very clean output & doesn't get hot!!

Wow, even though this amp is only 550 watts at 2 ohms, its' output is cleaner than other name brand class d monoblocks, with more power I've used. It's extremely small, and never seems to get hot. I bought the add on bass level control, and it looks nicer, and different knob, than the advertised picture. I'll include a picture of it, since it hasn't been updated. Great job Morel, and Crutchfield.

okay so I'm an audiophile, I love bass, but I want excellent SQ meaning transients, bass note distinction, articulation, speed, and all those other fancy audiophile words you can associate with SQ. I bought this amplifier to replace my 20 year old Diamond Audio 1500.1 as it was just too large. The Diamond amp was $1500+ when new and top of the line so I wasn't expecting any SQ improvement, I was really just hoping this Morel would be "as good". Wow! So this Morel amplifier is literally better in every way, granted it doesn't have the output of the behemoth Diamond amplifier but the bass is far more controlled, tight, and defined. Overall the sound is so much cleaner I've been kind of blown away for a few days now. I didn't realize modern car audio had improved this much!

Amazing sound

This thing puts out pure clean power that sounds amazing. Had an Alpine mrv500 pushing jl 10w3v3 and hated the sound it produced . Bought the Morel mps1.550 and cant believe the difference this amp has made to the sound of the subwoofer. Well worth the money. There is no substitute for (SQ) sound quality and this amp is on top.
Pros: Everything about this amp makes it worth the money.
Cons: Nothing on this amp. I do wish Morel offered a 1000w rms mono amp.

Super clean
This amp is super clean. I have the Morel 1.550 for a JL Audio 12w3v3 at 2ohms, and a Morel 4.400 for two pairs of Focal K2 Power 4 inch components, and it is a perfect matched system. I can't say anything about the crossover, because I am running it after a Mosconi DSP 6to8 Pro where I have all of my crossovers and EQ set up.
