Product Research

Features

Overview: The Gentex ADVGENFLCHLN is a frameless rearview mirror designed to replace the factory rearview mirror and provide automatic dimming at night and HomeLink integration. The ADVGENFLCHLN uses the factory mounting base and is compatible with most vehicle's mirror mounts.

Auto-Dimming: The ADVGENFLCHLN has a built-in forward-looking light sensor that will automatically dim the mirror when headlights are detected.

HomeLink 5: One of the key features of the ADVGENFLCHLN is its compatibility with HomeLink enabled devices. HomeLink is one of the most widely used and trusted car-to-home automation system that uses RF and wireless cloud-based transmission to conveniently open and close garage doors and property gates, activate and deactivate home security systems, turn on or off interior or exterior lighting and electronics, and more. The ADVGENFLCHLN includes 3 buttons that can be easily programmed for HomeLink compatible features such as these.

  • Setup: The ADVGENFLCHLN can be configured by first downloading the "HomeLink Connect" app from the Apple App or Google Play stores. The Bluetooth enabled mirror can then be paired to your smartphone, letting you program optional functions to the mirror's 3 HomeLink buttons.

Mounting: The Gentex frameless mirror is compatible with any wedge-mount factory rearview mirror base.

Wiring: The Gentex rearview mirror includes a 90" 2-wire harness that gets connected to both the mirror's built-in harness and the vehicle's electrical system. The bare-ended red power wire gets connected to a switched +12V power source, such as the fuse box, while the black ground wire attaches to the vehicle chassis using the pre-connected ring terminal.

Customer Q&A

30 questions already asked

Q
Is the dashcam powered by the 10 pin connector that powers OEM autodimming mirror, or does this require wires to be ran to fuse box?
ace  Jun 01, 2025
1 answer
A
Ideally, it would get its power from an 12V switched source and as long as the wire for the dimmer can provide power all the time while the vehicle is running, then it can work. Otherwise, it is best to plan to run the power to the fuse box

Q
Is this compatible with the 2021 Kia sportage ?
hector  May 20, 2025
1 answer
A
This mirror is compatible with wedge-mount factory rearview mirror bases. While we did not research the rear view mirror in your Kia, there appears to be videos showing the mirror does mount using the wedge style system. It is expected to work!

Q
Will it work on a 2025 integra tech?
western  May 12, 2025
1 answer
A
The Gentex ADVGENFLCHLN is a universal replacement mirror that we do not list specific vehicle fitment for, Wes. The ADVGENFLCHLN uses the factory mirror mounting base and is compatible with most vehicle's mirror mounts.

Q
Is this plug and play for 2018 Mazda 6 GT with a framed mirror with homelink?
j  Apr 06, 2025
1 answer
A
The Gentex ADVGENFLCHLN is not a plug and play upgrade, J.L. That being said, the ADVGENFLCHLN uses the factory mounting base and is compatible with most vehicle's mirror mounts. The Gentex rearview mirror includes a 90" 2-wire harness that gets connected to both the mirror's built-in harness and the vehicle's electrical system. The bare-ended red power wire gets connected to a switched +12V power source, such as the fuse box, while the black ground wire attaches to the vehicle chassis using the pre-connected ring terminal.

Q
Will this fit a 2008 Ford Mustang that currently has a basic rear view mirror? Thank you.
chris  Jan 13, 2024
1 answer
A
We do not qualify the Gentex ADVGENFLCHLN for specific vehicle fitment, Chris. The ADVGENFLCHLN uses the factory mounting base and is compatible with most vehicle's mirror mounts if the factory mirror is mounted on the windshield.

Q
Is this plug and play with 2022 GMC Canyon?
johnny g  Sep 08, 2023
1 answer
A
The Gentex ADVGENFLCHLN is a universal install item, John. No aspect of this install is plug-and-play, in any year, make, and model vehicle. If you are not experienced with this type of install, we advise having the Gentex ADVGENFLCHLN installed by a professional. The Gentex can mount to any location that uses a standard rearview mirror mounting base, and the Homelink connection features are a great way to control your home automation devices! If you decide to tackle the install yourself, we do provide lifetime Technical Support. We are always here to help!

Q
will this fit a 2020 honda civic EX hatchback? and would I need a block extender
james  Aug 02, 2023
1 answer
A
This Gentex ADVGENFLCHLN replacement mirror is compatible with any wedge-mount factory rearview mirror base. We do not qualify specific vehicle fitment, James. Looking at the mirror assembly on the 2020 civic the mounting shaft has two parts with a pivot in the center and does appear much longer. Due to those reasons I would say sadly the Gentex is not a fit. I hope this helps!

Q
Would this mirror work on a 2020 Camry XSE that already has an auto dimming mirror? What is the installation process for simply swapping an existing auto dimming mirror for another one?
krishna  Jun 26, 2023
1 answer
A
This Gentex ADVGENFLCHLN uses your vehicle's factory mounting base and is compatible with most vehicle's mirror mounts, Keishna. The ADVGENFLCHLN has a built-in forward-looking light sensor that will automatically dim the mirror when headlights are detected. Installation will require the replacement of your factory rear-view mirror as well as running wire for power. If you have not attempted this kind of job before, professional installation is recommended.

Q
Will this work with a 2015 Nissan Murano SV?
john  Mar 31, 2023
1 answer
A
Greetings John, and thank you for your question. We do not verify fitment on aftermarket rear view mirrors. This Gentex mirror attaches the same way as a factory mirror that uses the wedge mount. From what I could find on the factory mirror of the 2015 Murano, it uses the wedge mount.

Q
Does this fit on an 11th gen honda civic?
dante  Feb 25, 2023
1 answer
A
This Gentex ADVGENFLCHLN replacement rear-view mirror is a universal item, Dante. We do not qualify any vehicle fit, as the Gentex frameless mirror is compatible with any wedge-mount factory rearview mirror base (small metal tab epoxied to the inside of the windshield, if applicable on your vehicle).

Q
Looking to install on a 2023 Genesis GV 80 Prestige. Will it work?
butch  Feb 13, 2023
1 answer
A
Greetings Butch, and thank you for your question. If your Genesis GV 80 uses a wedge mount for the factory mirror, this Gentex is compatible. If not it will need an adapter. We do not do the research on vehicles mirrors. We would need to know what type of mount your vehicle has if not the wedge mount.

Q
Will this work with 2023 RAV4 XLE? If not which Gentex will fit the RAV4?
ralj337  Nov 23, 2022
1 answer
A
This mirror may be installed on any vehicle with a mounting wedge for the rear-view mirror. As long as your RAV4 XLE features this style of mounting for the mirror, then it should work nicely. Keep in mind that this mirror is not designed to work with any "smart" features that may be present on your factory mirror.

Q
I have a 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe SEL that has a standard non-auto dimming mirror. I read that somewhere that the Santa Fe mounting is different. Will this mirror work for me?
frank  Sep 12, 2022
1 answer
A
Greetings Frank, and thank you for your question. The Gentex mirror uses a wedge mount only. It does not appear the 2022 Sante Fe uses that type of mount. I could not find any type of adapters to use the Santa fe mount. The only way to use this is to remove your factory mirror, with its mount, and install a wedge on the inside of the windshield.
thomas  Sep 12, 2022 (Staff)
Q
Will it work with a 2009 m3?
kevin  Jun 27, 2022
1 answer
A
Greetings Kevin, and thank you for your question. The Gentex mirror is a universal fit for factory mirrors that use a wedge style mirror mount on the windshield. If your mirror uses that style mount, it will, fit the M3.

Q
Will it work on a 2019 Honda Insight LX?
ron  May 22, 2022
1 answer
A
The Gentex frameless mirror is compatible with any wedge-mount factory rearview mirror base. You will have to run the power and ground wires to connect the mirror. Typically the power wire would be run to your fuse box, while the ground would be grounded to your chassis.

Does this works with my Ford Explorer 2010 Eddie Bauer?
ed  Nov 08, 2021
1 answer
A
This mirror is not plug and play with any vehicle, but comes with the necessary installation hardware to make it work in any car. It's a universal mirror, from the company that provides OEM mirrors to almost all car manufacturers. You will just need to connect power and ground wires to the harness that connects to the mirror.

Q
Can the bluetooth (homelink connect) be disabled? I don't plan on using homelink connect and don't want random people to be able to sync their phone to the mirror. And can homelink be used with ignition off?
james  Jan 06, 2021
1 answer
A
This unit is wired with just 2 wires, a 12v + and ground. If you wire this mirror to a permanent 12v+ then you could use the buttons at any time but the bluetooth and auto-dimming would be on also. I have wired it to an accessory wire which also has retained power for a short while. Other Gentex mirrors I have used had at least 2 power connections, one for the mirror and one for the buttons. This does not.

Q
Just wondering is this the rear view mirror with shark fin build in camera?
wayne  Aug 19, 2020
1 answer
A
This mirror does not have a camera built into it. We do usually have rear view mirrors with a front or dash camera built in and recommend contacting an advisor on 1-800-324-9695 to check current inventory and get a personal recommendation on one
