Compatibility

Vehicle Compatibility: The MTX RZR-14-THUNDER5 sound system is designed to work with the following 2014-up Polaris RZR vehicles that do not have a factory installed RideCommand system:

Digital Media Receiver

All Weather Design (IP66 Rated): The MTX AWMC3 digital media receiver is designed to withstand anything you may encounter in nature along your ride - including wind, sand, rain, snow, sleet, and any other kind of bad weather you might find yourself riding in. The AWMC3 digital media receiver can be used in any environment and its large rubber buttons make it easy to operate under even the most adverse conditions.

3" Display w/ Large Buttons: The AWMC3 digital media receiver features a 3" full color TFT display with auto or manual dimming for better visibility. It also offers large backlit soft-touch buttons that are easy to use even while wearing gloves.

20W x 4Ch Amplifier: The digital media receiver features a built-in 20W (RMS)/50W (Peak) x 4Ch amplifier for connection of up to four speakers.

2V/4Ch Pre-Outs: The digital media receiver is outfitted with two sets of 2-volt pre-outs (front & rear) for adding external amplifiers for even bigger sound.

Customizable EQ: You can customize the receiver's sound through selectable EQ Presets (Classic, Jazz, Rock, Pop, Optimal, Custom). The Custom mode allows you to manually adjust the 8-band EQ (62, 125, 250, 500, 1k, 4k, 10k, 16k Hz). There is also balanced and fade control.

Bluetooth Audio Streaming: Thanks to built-in Bluetooth, you can stream stored music and music apps on your Bluetooth source device to the digital media receiver. You'll also get basic playback controls (like Play/Pause & Previous Next Track), along with song/artist info and album art display. If you have an Apple 5S and up device, you can even browse your Bluetooth music by song/artist/playlist from the receiver. Only one Bluetooth source device can be paired and connected at a time.

USB MSC Playback: The unit's rear-panel USB (type-A) port allows playback of MP3 music files from a USB MSC (mass storage class) device, like a USB thumbdrive or portable digital audio player. You'll get basic playback control (Play/Pause & Previous/Next Track) and the display of song/artist info with album art on the receiver. The unit will also charge your connected portable digital audio player.

iPod/iPhone Compatible: The receiver's USB port can also be used to connect your Apple iPod or iPhone with Lightning connector (not compatible with 30-pin devices). Simply use the cable that came with your Apple Lightning device or a 3rd party Apple certified Lightning-to-USB cable (sold separately). The unit supports audio playback of stored music and music apps, music navigation (song/artist/album/playlist), song/artist info with album art, and charging of your compatible Apple Lightning device.

AM/FM/WB Tuner: The receiver features a built-in AM/FM tuner with manual, seek, and preset (12AM/18FM) tuning. You can choose between US or European tuning. A Local option tunes to only nearby radio stations with sufficiently strong signals for good reception. The unit is also equipped with a built-in weather band tuner. Select from weather band frequencies between 162.4 to 162.55.

SiriusXM Ready: The digital media receiver is SiriusXM-Ready and compatible with the SiriusXM Connect Vehicle Tuner (220SXV300 sold separately), so you can listen to over 140 SiriusXM channels. SiriusXM subscription required. The unit offers manual, seek, preset (up to 18), direct, and category tuning. It also provides parental control to block unsuitable content.

Aux Input: The MTX digital media receiver is fitted with a rear-panel stereo RCA AUX input to connect an external audio source.

Receiver Mounting Kit: The included MUDRZRDK custom-fit dash kit is designed specifically to allow installation of the MTX AWMC3 digital media receiver in select Polaris RZR side-by-side vehicles. The MUDRZRDK fits in the space occupied by the factory pocket found in the dashboard allowing for easy installation and a stock look.

AWMC3 (AP001494) Wiring: The RZR-14-THUNDER5 sound system includes a pre-configured 43" T-harness designed to connect the AWMC3 Digital Media Receiver directly to the vehicle's wiring with no cutting or splicing. An additional RCA harness (AP001493) provides the audio connections to the amplifiers.

MUD100-4 & MUD600-1 Amplifiers

MUD100-4: The MUD100-4 amplifier is a 4-channel Class D amplifier. It's designed for the outdoor environment with a conformal coated PCB and covered controls.

Controls: Front and rear channel controls feature protective rubber covers and include the following options:

• Front Crossover: A three position high-pass switch with: Full range, 80Hz, and 200Hz with a 12 dB/octave slope.
• Rear Crossover: A three position switch with Full range, Hi, and Low settings.
• Level: Rotary input gain knob to match the output of the source unit, with a 200mV-10V range.

Power: The MUD100-4 can provide the following RMS power:

• 50W x 4 @4Ω
• 100W x 4 @2Ω
• 200W x 2 @4Ω (bridged)

MUD600-1 Mono Amplifier: The MUD600.1 amplifier is a mono Class D amplifier. It's designed for the outdoor environment with a conformal coated PCB and covered controls.

Controls: The controls are under rubber covers on the end of the amp opposite the wiring.

• Input Level: 2-position switch; select High (speaker level) or Low (line level)
• Gain: rotary dial; adjust to match the output of the source unit; 200mV-5V with the input level switch in the Low position and 400mV-10V with the input level switch in High position
• Bass Boost: rotary dial; variable from 0 to +18 dB; boost centered at 45 Hz
• LPF: rotary dial; sets low pass filter frequency; variable from 40 Hz to 250 Hz; the crossover always engaged (it cannot be bypassed)

Power: The MUD600-1 can provide the following power output:

• 300W x 1 @4Ω
• 650W x 1 @2Ω

RZR-14-CORE: The RZR-14-CORE kit includes mounting brackets, power and ground wiring for both amplifiers, as well as speaker harnesses for interfacing the factory rear speaker wiring.

Speaker Pods & Subwoofer

RZR-14-FS: The MTX RZR-14-FS speaker pods are designed to mount into the kick-panels of select 2014-up Polaris RZR vehicles and feature pre-installed MTX 6-1/2" 2-way drivers. Each heavy-duty speaker pod is sealed for protection from the elements and is designed for a direct fit with no cutting or drilling required.

2-Way Speakers: The included 6-1/2" drivers feature polypropylene woofer cones along with a coaxially-mounted 1" Mylar dome tweeter.

RGB LED Lighting: Each speaker includes built-in RGB LED lighting which can be powered and controlled using the included MUDLEDC RGB lighting controller.

Enclosures: The RZR-14-FS speaker enclosures feature a roto-molded sealed design with factory matched texturing. Custom quick-mount brackets with POD-LOC technology allow for easy installation with no cutting or drilling. Pre-installed wiring harnesses with each speaker pod are terminated in watertight connectors for a direct connection to newer MTX RZR audio systems.

RZR-14-SW Subwoofer: The MTX RZR-14-SW loaded subwoofer enclosure is designed to mount into select 2014-up Polaris RZR vehicles and features a pre-installed MTX 55 Series 10" subwoofer. The subwoofer enclosure is designed for a direct fit with no cutting or drilling required.

10" Driver: The RZR-14-SW features a single MTX 55 Series 10" subwoofer driver with a polypropylene cone and a rubber surround.

Enclosure: The RZR-14-SW subwoofer enclosure features a roto-molded design with factory matched texturing. The enclosure is ported, for a deeper bass response, but includes a QuIPS (Quick Install Port Seal) that can be quickly and easily installed for a sealed enclosure. This provides a tighter bass sound while protecting the driver and enclosure from water and mud ingress.

EBC-01 Remote Level Control: An EBC-01 wired remote level-control is provided for quickly adjusting the output level of the included subwoofer. The EBC-01 includes hardware for mounting it under a dash or console within easy reach of the driver's seat. An attached 20' plugs directly into the MUD600-1 mono amplifier. 

6.5" Rear Speakers & Wiring

MUD65PL: The MUD65PL rear cage-mount speakers are designed for all-weather use in the harsh outdoor environment. MTX tests the speakers for 500 hours at ASTM B117 and D4329 standards.

2-Way Speakers: The MUD65PL speakers feature a 6-1/2" woofer with a polypropylene woofer cone along with a coaxially-mounted 1" soft dome tweeter.

RGB LED Lighting: Each speaker includes built-in RGB LED lighting which can be powered and controlled using the included MUDLEDC RGB lighting controller.

Enclosures: The MUD65PL enclosures and grilles are made of impact-resistant ABS with a UV inhibitor making them ideal for outdoor use. Low-profile swivel-mount brackets let you aim the speakers in any direction and include mounting clamps for 1.5", 1.75", 1.85", and 2.0" diameter roll-cage bars.

PS-REARHAR-1: Connection to the MUD65PL rear speakers is made easy with the included PS-REARHAR-1 rear speaker harnesses. This loomed harness provides a direct connection to the MUD65PL speakers and is terminated with watertight connectors. The PS-REARHAR-1 includes wires for both the speaker signal and RGB lighting.

RGB LED Controller

RGB LED Controller: The MTX RZR-14-THUNDER5 sound system includes a MUDLEDC RGB lighting controller, letting you activate and control the RGB LED lighting in the RZR-14-FS speaker pods. Up to 12 LED speakers can be connected in parallel to the MUDLEDC.

Controller Wiring: The miniature RGB LED controller can be plugged directly into the RGB connector on the included headunit T-harness, allowing it control the LED lighting in the speaker pods through the factory wiring. The other end of the controller features bare-ended wire for connecting to a +12VDC power and ground source in the vehicle. An optional toggle switch (sold separately) is recommended in order to easily remove power from the MUDLEDC when the vehicle will not be in use for long periods of time.

LED Controls: The MUDLEDC includes a hand-held wireless RF remote for controlling the LED lighting. Functions include:

• Power/Standby
• Speed +/-: LEDs can be set to flash with variable flash speed. 10 speed levels are available.
• Static Color +/-: Cycles through each of the 20 available Static Colors.
• Mode +/-: Cycles through each of the 19 Dynamic Modes.
• Brightness +/-: Increases or decreases LED Brightness.
• Demo Mode: Loops through 9 dynamic modes, with each cycling 3 times.
