Product Research
Features
Operation: The IRAD+ has three operating modes:
- Ignition and Remote Generation with Delays: The ignition output (+12 volts) is triggered by the voltage change on the +12 volt input terminal when the engine is started. After the engine is started, a delay can be programmed for the ignition output (0-10 seconds or minutes in 1 second steps). Once the ignition output has engaged, the remote output (+12 volts) turns on after the programmed delay (also 0-10 seconds or minutes in 1 second steps). When the engine stops, the ignition output turns off after the programmed delay (0-10 minutes in 1 minute steps). After the ignition output turns off, the remote output also turns off with the programmed delay (0-10 seconds or minutes in 1 second steps).
- Remote Generation with Delays: The remote output (+12 volts) is triggered when a voltage (greater than 5 volts) is applied to the remote input on the power terminal. A delay can be programmed for the remote output (0-10 seconds or minutes in 1 second steps). A delay can also be programmed for turning the remote output off (0-10 seconds or minutes in 1 second steps).
- Stop-Start Relay/Solenoid Control Mode: Useful in some stop-start enabled vehicles, off-road, or marine applications with larger aftermarket sound systems, battery isolation is controlled based on the engine running status.
Terminal Blocks: The power/ground/remote-in and the ignition out/remote-out terminals are removable Phoenix terminals (Euroblock). The wiring is attached to the block, then the block is plugged into the chassis. The terminal blocks will accommodate wire up to 16-gauge.
Connections:
- Power: removable 3-pin Phoenix terminal
- Ground: minimum 18-gauge wire recommended
- +12 volts: connected to the battery to monitor resting voltage (engine off) vs. charging voltage (engine running); minimum 18-gauge wire recommended with a 5-amp fuse (not included)
- Remote Input: when connected to a switched voltage source (> 5 volts), the remote output terminal can be triggered directly
- Output Terminal: removable 2-pin Phoenix terminal
- Ignition Output: programmable +12 volt output, triggered by the voltage change on the +12 volt input terminal when the engine is started
- Remote Output: programmable +12 volt output, engaged either following the ignition output or triggered by the remote input terminal
Controls: The Ignition Program and Remote Program buttons are used to program ignition and remote on/off delays, and the voltage difference tolerance.
