Game changer for my audio setup!
Francisco from Riverside, CA on 5/25/2025
I recently purchased the WaveTech LinkDQ from Crutchfield, to replace a JL Audio LoC-22, mostly because I needed something that could help me with the bass rolloff present in the stock amplified system on my 2013 Lexus ES350, and I have to say-this little device exceeded my expectations. It's a must-have if you're integrating aftermarket audio into a factory system. **Performance:** The sound clarity and low-frequency restoration are impressive. I noticed an immediate difference in bass response, and my system now delivers the deep, rich sound I was hoping for. It does an excellent job of bringing back those lost frequencies, making my audio setup sound more full and dynamic. It did take a little bit of fine tuning, in my case, the best settings were with the gain and boost controls at 0, and the frequency set on narrow @50Hz. I am using, for now, a JBL Basspro Hub. **Installation:** The setup was straightforward, even for someone who's not a pro installer. The instructions were clear, and the compact size made placement easy. Please note that it takes about a minute to turn off. **Value:** For the price, the LinkDQ offers great performance. It's a simple yet effective way to elevate factory audio without going overboard on cost. It is very well made and easy to adjust. If you're looking for a high-quality bass restoration processor, I'd definitely recommend the WaveTech LinkDQ. It delivers clean, powerful sound enhancement without adding complex
Pros: It will help eliminate bass roll off, price is reasonable, well made and compact.
Cons: It can take a little patience to fine tune, but that's not really a con in my opinion, but an observation.

Great LOC
Jake from Dearborn, MI on 12/14/2024
Worked great to install a subwoofer in my Girlfriend's 2021 Chevy traverse. After seeing some YouTubers claim this unit was actually better than the venerable LC2i, I used it to get RCA signal to a Skar audio 800w amp that was part of their loaded 2 8" sub package (also highly recommended if you're looking for serious bass on a budget!) Unfortunately, I will be removing this unit and replacing it with a Wavtech 300.4 mini amplifier so that I can get a little bit more power to my main speakers. That amp will now power my main cabin speakers, and also includes line outputs that I will run to my subwoofer amp. This negates the need for an additional LOC so I'll just hang onto this one until I need to do another sub-only deal on a factory system! One installation note: be careful, the paint scratches off of the case very easily. I would still recommend this product. It worked absolutely great as a line output converter. To be honest I have not done all of the testing to see what my input voltages were, etc.but iirc I measured about 5v at my RCAs with the gain on this unit turned way down and my factory stereo turned 3/4 up. Would need to do some more testing to get the most out of this and the amp but for now "it slaps" as the kids say and I'm sure I have plenty of room to turn up my amp gain AND the preamp gain on this unit. And I haven't even touched the EQ boost yet although that seems cool too! ?? Hope this helps and good luck with your install!
Pros: EQ Clip light simplifies setup Easy wiring
Cons: Paint on case very easily scratched. "Fixed" it with a black sharpie but not perfect. Just be careful when installing and don't carelessly scratch yours like I did!

Right tool for the right job. For 2022 F150
Patrick from Nixa, MO on 6/17/2024
Adding a subwoofer for my '22 F150, stock audio, has been a challenging task. Especially if I wanted full performance from my sub, which was in my old truck with an aftermarket head unit. It sounded great in there. However, the stock HU is not replaceable in these newer trucks. So... I went to a local car audio dealer, and they said I needed a LOC with "AccuBass". They said my truck system dropped bass response as I turned up volume and that their recommendation was essential. Well, that did not work out...turns out they were mistaken and the bass just rolls off naturally, regardless of volume, and I could never get "AccuBass" to set up properly. I missed the full depth of bass I was used to in the old truck. The 'bass boost' on my amp was little help. I just needed to be able to properly EQ the lower register. So I talked to the Crutchfield experts and they said the Wavtech LinkDQ was the answer. And they were right. With the parametric EQ, I was able to get the response I was seeking. My sub is back! Wonderful, deep, full natural sounding bass. I don't blame the local audio dealer for not knowing, It is hard to find accurate info on this truck system. Even the Ford dealer didn't really know. Just wished I'd called Crutchfield first...live and learn! I can fully recommend the LinkDQ.
Pros: Great sound. Small, easy to install.
Cons: None so far....

best loc on the market, love its compact size where i can hide it anywhere. especially like how i can just pinpoint any frequency that lacks bass in my vehicle and fix it while also boosting the lows.
Pros: compact size, parametric eq, clip light
Cons: connector pins to small

Great product. Wavtech signal processing is one of the best. And with the 1 band parametric EQ like on the JL audio slash amplifiers. You can tune your bass the way you like. A must have for installers and DIY

Small active LOC

I installed a device to get a line signal from the under seat woofer of my BMW G20, which has a speaker level signal of up to 35V. While the LC2i from AudioControl is the most commonly used device for this purpose, I opted for the smaller Wavtech because I didn't need AccuBass. Another option was the Link2, which doesn't have Bass boost dials. After installing the device, I realized that the link2 would suffice as I have a DSP that can EQ the signal. However, the linkDQ is smaller and offers more freedom than the link2. To improve the bass sound, I adjusted the internal jumper inside the case to make it compatible with the 35V speaker level signal from the BMW. I was impressed with my first time ordering from Crutchfield because of their fast shipping and secure packaging.
Pros: Small

I purchased this item to replace another brand that didn't even last a day. Easy to install with several adjustments to match to your system. Small footprint big results with a durable case. Also added the remote which works great also.
Pros: Sturdy case, adjustable and easy to install.

Another great product. Used to boost my low level differential signal feeding my stock Bose sub amp. I had ~9 volts coming out before clipping. I had to turn it down to feed my aftermarket amp. Very clean signal.

Works good but frequency only goes to 80. Would be better for 12" or up sub. Smaller subs sometimes want a little higher frequency.

I originally had the AudioControl LC2i, but had inconsistent bass; sometimes it would hit hard other times not at all. My wiring was good (i tripled checked), EQ was flat on my headunit, gain dials set per owner's manual instructions, and AccuBass feature disabled (not applicable with my specific vehicle); perhaps I just had a defective unit because I know AudioControl is a really good and reputable brand. I ended up swapped it out for the Wavtech DQ and boom resolved the issue I was having with the LC2i. Bass is strong and consistent. I also like that it's much smaller and can even manually adjust certain frequencies to hit harder. When the radio is off the sub is dead quiet (no humming\buzzing of any kind). Just a note, it does accept the 40v power that my Factory System puts out, but you need to open up the metal casing and switch both jumpers from 20v to 40v (leave the Load jumper there) The one thing I hate is the positive and negative terminals being next to each other (the LC2i was also the same). While I did tug test on the wires to make sure it doesn't come out easily, I wish it was 16 gauge terminals like it is on the LC2i. The 18 gauge terminals on the Wavtech just doesn't feel as secure, however, just be sure you secure the device and the wires so that it doesn't move and you should be fine. Other than that, I would highly recommend this product if adding a subwoofer into a factory headunit without RCA input.
Pros: Compact in size and does what it is supposed to do.
Cons: 18 gauge terminal Positive and negative together

Bought this to replace my Audio Control LC2i since this is smaller and looks cooler, yes looks matter to me and I also was looking for this type of bass boost control where you can select 30hz narrow and boost it! I run an 8" Mojo in a sealed box and being able to boost the 30hz range allows for a huge improvement with respect to deep bass and extension. Love this thing! Install tip: Make sure the gain is turned down all the way before you turn on your system and dial it up as needed
Pros: Good price, bass boost, build quality.
Cons: None.

Freaked me out at first. It let's the amp sit for for a good bit after turning car off. But sounds great and does its job well. Easy to hide and install. Much better than running a remote wire with a stock head unit.
