Features
Overview: The iFi Audio GO link Max is the upgrade to the popular Go link portable DAC/headphone amp. The latest version offers both balanced (4.4mm) and S-Balanced (3.5mm) headphone outputs and significantly more power than its predecessor. Go link Max offers 7x the power of an iPhone, and 5x the output of a MacBook Pro's headphone jack. Its compact size lets you take your Hi-Res music wherever you go. Go link Max has a USB-C input with a Type A USB adapter and an Apple Lightning adapter. No batteries are required, because it receives its power from your phone, tablet, or computer's output.
Construction: The GO link Max has a USB-C input and a combination DAC/headphone amp tethered together via a 2-3/4" braided cable. The silver-plated copper cable is extremely flexible and minimizes strain on the USB input. Both components are encased in durable, lightweight magnesium alloy.
Digital-to-Analog Conversion: GO link Max is equipped with dual ESS Sabre ES9219 DACs to deliver True Native® playback of your Hi-Res music files. Each channel has its own dedicated DAC to provide better channel separation, a wider soundstage, and greater musical detail. The DAC's Dynamic Range Enhancement (DRE) gives you a much wider contrast between the loudest and the quietest sounds. The GO link Max is compatible with the following audio formats and frequencies:
- PCM: 384, 352.8, 192, 176.4, 96, 88.2, 48, 44.1 kHz
- DSD: 256 (11.2MHz), 128 (5.6MHz), 64 (2.8MHz) (Quad-rate, Double-rate, and Single-rate, respectively)

Headphone Amplifier: iFi GO link Max's built-in headphone amplifier can drive most headphones and in-ear monitors with ease. The 4.4mm balanced headphone output delivers 241mW into 32-ohm headphones, and 4V into a 300-ohm high-impedance headphone load, with reduced distortion and crosstalk, compared to single-ended (unbalanced) outputs. The balanced output uses inverse positive/negative electrical paths to deliver equal and opposite audio signals to each side of the headphone driver voice coil. The single-ended 3.5mm unbalanced headphone output benefits from iFi's S-Balanced circuitry which is specially suited for sensitive IEMs (in-ear monitors). S-Balanced features a dedicated negative wire for each channel, and supports both TRS and TRRS headphones. The 3.5mm unbalanced output delivers 100mW into a 32Ω and 2V at 300Ω.
USB Input and Adapters: The GO link Max has a USB-C input, and plugs directly into many of today's smartphones, tablets, and some computers. It comes with an adapter for USB-A equipped computers, and an Apple adapter for connecting Lightning-equipped iPhones and iPads.
