Dulled everything up

After reading many reviews I purchased this unit hoping it would be an improvement over the phono preamp my Denon receiver. It definitely wasn't. It seemed to take all the life out of the sound. Where before the sound of a snare drum or tom-tom were easily identifiable everything became muddy and dull. I tried different cables but it made no difference. On a positive side it is solid and well made and it did emphasize bass. Kudos to Crutchfield as this was a scratch and dent and I could not find anything cosmetically wrong with it. Even my picky wife couldn't find anything wrong. I will be returning it and probably wait till I can afford something a bit more high end. Three stars because it does what it's suppose to do but does not sound good on my system. May be fine somewhere else.

Cons: Made my system sound dull. Lost all airiness to the sound

iFi ZEN Air Phono

Haven't plugged it in because I can't. You have a nice product but the power source is short and crappy. I know the manufacturer is saving money, but I would pay extra for a better supply source.
Pros: Don't know can't plug it in. Looks nice.
Cons: Disappointing short power supply. Have to buy a longer one.

IFI Air brought me Zen

For $99 this thing is a no brainer. Huge sonic improvement over the phono stage in my Rotel A11 Tribute. I'm actually buying vinyl again because this sounds so good. Just as good as my CDs with DAC but different of course. It's vinyl after all
Pros: Awesome sound upgrade for $99
Cons: Doesn't come with proper power supply. Power and subsonic filter buttons don't always work the first or second time you push them. Can't hear any difference with subsonic filter but it definitely calms down your woofers. Without it they are all over the place. I still highly recommend this unit for $99

This has been a great upgrade! Love it, lotta bang for your buck.
Pros: Much improved sound over internal phono stage and also many external phono amps.
Cons: Plane Jane, may be a con to some. But set it and forget is actually preferred by many including myself.

Clean Sound

I use it for an older MM turntable to play through the aux input on my amp. It works fine with a standard, cube type, phone charger for power. The cord is included but not the charger. The sound seemed very clean to me.

I was very impressed with the speed of shipping. Customer service is exceptional. From the moment you make the purchase, during the journey and until the product arrives, they are attentive and always willing to help you. In relation to the equipment (Zen Air Phono), my equipment seems different. Obviously my equipment is mid-range, my turntable or record player is very economical. NOTE, it is not a suitcase, but it is not of good quality but for my taste and budget it sounded relatively good. Now I like to listen to it, the difference in sound changed a lot. I congratulate you for the good work and the customer service, which in my opinion is very important. Thank you very much... Success in whatever you propose. Me impresionó mucho la rapidez del envío. El servicio al cliente es excepcional. Desde que haces la compra, durante el trayecto y hasta que llega el producto ellos están pendientes y siempre están dispuestos a ayudarte. En relación al equipo (Zen Air Phono), mi equipo parece otro . Obviamente mi equipo es de una gama media, mi tornamesa o tocadiscos es muy económico. OJO, no es una maleta, pero no es de buena calidad pero para mí gusto y presupuesto sonaba relativamente bien. Ahora me gusta escucharlo, la diferencia en sonido cambió muchísimo. Los felicito por el buen trabajo y el servicio al cliente que en mi opinión es muy importante. Muchas Gracias... Éxito en lo que se propongan.

Great little box!!

Nice sound, easy to connect. Eliminated my old receiver and connected my phono to my JBL Bluetooth speaker with a 1/4" stereo plug adapter. Plenty of gain, plenty of sound.
