Audiolab 9000A - Excellent Performer
Dale from ATHENS, GA on 10/4/2024
An absolutely beautiful integrated amp from its physical good looks to its detailed and lifelike sound creation, I've been totally impressed with the Audiolab 9000A. I was using an ARCAM 20A which performs well overall, but was a little harsh and brassy to my ears at mid to higher volumes. I am using the built in DAC and Focal Chora floor-standing speakers with a sub and on well recorded and mixed music creates a wide sound-stage that at times brings the artist into my listening area with me. The clarity and detail are just amazing. Highly recommend this product.
Pros: Excellent DAC, Can Act as a Pre-amp or Power-amp Only, Cool Display, Built is Solid, Detailed Realistic Sound
Cons: No HDMI Connection

Very Musical
Ken from Lowell, IN on 5/25/2024
Wish I could leave a 4 and a half star rating. I use the Audiolab 9000A as my every day driver for TV and music. When we stream movies the dialog is sometimes to quiet but that might be a TV setting. Also you really have to have the volume up kind of high to get the meters to dance. I have the Audiolab hooked up to Dynaudio emit 30s and that combination is excellent, nice deep controlled bass and beautiful mids and highs. The Bluetooth works flawlessly and streaming music from the phone or laptop is very easy. I'm very happy with this item.
Pros: Solidly built and easy to use
Cons: The meters are not very sensitive and no HDMI

Excellent
Purchased this from Crutchfield a little while ago now and writing this review mostly because I do not think the other 3 star review is deserved. I am very happy with my purchased from performance to build quality and aesthetics. Audio performance is highly subjective and very dependent on the on the rest of the system plus also room acoustics. In my listening room with psb passif speakers I find this to pair excellent - very detailed, clean, accurate and also dynamic - exactly what I was looking for and the right flavor for me.
Pros: Clean and detailed sound
Cons:

Audiolab 9000A

Nice imaging but amp dynamics are very low while bass needs tightening. My primary system is a Single Ended Triode so I know warm vs dull.
Pros: Features
Cons: Dull sound

Great sound stage.

I needed an amplifier to power my Bower & Wilkins 700 series, and I ended up with this. It matches amplifiers that are nearly twice the cost, and lived up to my expectations. After hours of listening to many amplifiers, this is the point of diminishing returns. It is a flexible long term solution for powering my speakers, and should last decades. I can listen to this for hours, and I have no complaints about this product, it is well worth the price.
Pros: - Sound quality is perfect - Vu meter and bright display - Hdmi - Different sound modes are fun - Total Harmonic Distortion is less than 0.01%
Cons: - Needs a miniDSP for Dirac room correction
