Features

Jeep Wrangler Spare Tire Camera: The Crux CCH-01M Jeep Wrangler spare-tire camera is specifically designed for the 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler (older JK body style 2018) with an aftermarket in-dash multimedia or navigation receiver installed. Your aftermarket receiver must feature an integrated video monitor and a composite video camera input. The Crux CCH-01M installs behind your Jeep Wrangler's spare tire. With the Crux CCH-01M Jeep Wrangler rear-view camera installed, you'll be able to view what's behind you on your in-dash aftermarket receiver's video monitor when you put your vehicle in reverse.

Note: This rear-view camera is meant as a back-up aid only; never solely rely on the rear-view camera when backing-up. In addition to using the rear-view camera, always look behind you to make sure everything is clear when backing up your vehicle.

Image Sensor & Lens: The Crux CCH-01M Jeep Wrangler spare-tire, rear-view camera features a CCD image sensor that offers 480 lines of resolution. The bright f/1.8 lens has 170° (horizontal) x 90° (vertical) viewing angle. The minimum illumination is 0.2 Lux.

Dynamic Park Assist Lines: The Crux CCH-01M spare-tire camera will display park assist lines on your connected monitor to aid you in backing up into a parking spot. A built-in gyro-sensor allows the park assist lines to dynamically curve as you steer and angle your vehicle. There are two vertical lines which help you judge the left and right edges of the parking space and your vehicle. There are also 3 color-coded horizontal lines that are used to distinguish how close you are getting to the end of the parking spot - Green (Clear), Yellow (Getting Close), Red (Very Close).

Note: The dynamic park assist lines are turned on by default. If you want to turn off the dynamic park assist lines, you will need to cut the white wire loop on the attached power/video cable of the rear-view camera.

Connections: The rear-view camera features an attached 4' power/video cable which plugs into the included 20' video cable which also features attached 3' power/ground wires. At the end of the video cable is a male RCA composite video plug, which connects to the composite, rear-view camera input of your aftermarket head unit. The power (red) & ground (black) wires will need to be hardwired. 12V power can be obtained from your vehicle's reverse light circuit or from the reverse gear wire of your aftermarket stereo (if applicable). The ground will need to be connected to your vehicle's metal chassis.

Waterproof Housing: The Crux CCH-01M Jeep Wrangler spare-tire, rear-view camera features an IP67-IP68 waterproof housing.

Q
I have an after market radio that already displays lines. Can I turn lines off on the camera?

Greetings Frank. Thank you for your question. This camera has active lines that curve using a Gyro sensor in the camera, but they can be turned off as well if you wish to use the parking assist lines that are already on your stereos monitor.

I have after market rims and tires on my spare. Will this work, is there anyway for me to know for sure?

This is fitted on my 2008 Jeep with 18" rims. The distance from the center of mounting ring to camera is 6 inches. If your rim has an opening at that distance it should work. Hope this helps

No easy answer, I went from stock to aftermarket and couldn't use it anymore, but if you're lucky it lines up with the holes in the new wheels.

I have after market rims and timer on a 2015 Jeep JK. Camera works perfectly with my specific rim.

You will probably have to modify it. I have moto metal wheels and I had to extend the bracket

Q
The camera worked normally for about a week. Then, the parking guide lines vanished, and the image became inverted. No idea why. Can this be fixed?

There are some wire loops that can be cut to cause these things to happen. Check your installation near the right rear corner to make sure nothing got pinched or cut. If those loops are undamaged it's probably in the camera and you should see about a warranty exchange.
