Good but not great

This works OK, but I've gotten better picture out of cheap Amazon cameras. Also the reverse signal is wired to power the camera, and said power is in their harness under the dash. This means that you either have to know where a reverse 12v power lead is under the dash, or you have to run a power wire from the reverse light all the way up to the front of the van. It would be better if there were power provisions for switched 12v under the dash, and the reverse light provided a signal to switch the camera on instead of carrying operating current. This switch signal could be patched in at the back of the van. There would be an added benefit of being able to activate the camera without shifting into reverse, which is useful for trailer/ load checking. Also, the build quality could be a little better for the price. Abs plastic with "some assembly required" isn't inspiring confidence in durability. These vans often have ladder racks on them...
Pros: Provides a well aimed picture in the center of the van. With the adjustable angle of the camera we were able to have the image show just a trailer hitch and what is behind the van, which was perfect for using this to aid in hitching to a trailer.
Cons: Wiring harness could be better thought out. Instructions aren't that great Cheap plastic build quality No grommet for passing through the van, could easily lead to rain getting inside at the taillight pass through. Image quality could be better, there are signal artifacts in the image like a wireless camera would have, but much less severe. For $50 this would be good value, for $180 it's a little lacking.

Easy to install and gives a very useful field of view. I can see my trailer hitch or my entire driveway. Picture quality is good and I am very pleased with how it works.

Great But

The overall camera and LED break light is great, it's adjustable and great picture, however I would modify it some, for the Chevy express van I installed this on, the wire harness needs to go threw a rubber garmet to keep water out, the garmet on the truck is not able to modify without splice the wire on the outside under the light but the cable for the camera you need to slice the garmet then install it and caulk it to make it water tight.
Pros: Great picture, LED I'd very bright
Cons: Wire harness needed to be modified

The instructions in the box could have been a little more step by step. Our vehicle did not have the proper module installed, so I had to grab the hot off of the reverse light. Some folks will not know how to do this, run wires, etc. Crutchfield support was a huge help with getting it hooked up to the radio as a wire had to be spliced. Not Crux's fault, but some additional information would have been helpful.

Nice camera; horrible fit and finish.
Crutchfield customer from Cambridge, VT on 7/2/2020
Fit and finish leave a lot to be desired. As the other review states, it doesn't fill the whole properly, doesn't come with a rubber gasket or grommet. Had to use a fair amount of silicone to prevent water infiltration based on the other review. Adjustable camera is handy but it doesn't make up for the fact that this is supposed to be an exact fit and it clearly is not a perfect fit.
Pros: Lengthy, decent quality wiring harness and couplings. Adapter is nice. Camera is nice.
Cons: The shape of the plastic housing around the light fixture does not fit the Savannah 2014 well at all. I would give it a D if the designer was in my shop class which I don't have. Fortunately, I am a contractor and so silicone is very handy for me so I simply filled the gap as you can see in the pictures. The average person is not going to do this and water is going to get in to either the van by way of the lack of grommet or it's going to get into the unit itself.

Purchase something else

I would give this negative stars if I could. Has two small thin tabs at rear that hold it in besides screws at front. Similar to oem brakelight. But those parts will break off during shipping. Received two units with that broke. Without that this will lean towards camera and catch air and break off at speed. Camera angle is basically a top down view. No way to see oncoming traffic. No waterproof either. Cables for camera and brakelight come out of giant opening with no seal around. I had to silicone around module to fix that. But then in heavy downpour it stopped working until it sat for a day drying out. So outside of module is susceptible to water. Overall I would not recommend this product to anyone and would strongly suggest a license plate mount style and just dealing with the fact that. Camera will be offset on a van since license plate is to the side.
Pros: None
Cons: Breaks in shipping. Poor viewing angle. Doesnt work in rain. Overpriced.
