Notes:

  • The CS-GM43 is compatible with following factory radios RPO codes - IOR, IOS, IOT, and IOU. The radio code can be found in the vehicle's glove box. Newer model GM vehicles are now using a QR code label. If the Service Parts Identification Label is not located in the glove box, reference the Vehicle Certification Label on the driver's door jam opening for the QR Code.
  • 2 harnesses are included, but only one will be used based on your vehicle's radio code. The SWCGM-IOS-IOT-IO harness (CS-GM43S) will be used in vehicles with an IOS, IOT, or IOU factory radio installed. The SWCGM-IOR harness (CS-GM43R) will be used in vehicles with an IOR factory installed radio.
  • In some of GM vehicles with a factory radio code of IOR, IOU or IOS; the radio control module is located at the front passenger side (by the door hinge). In these cases, a Crux GM49R-EXT or GM49S-EXT 5' extension harnesses is required and sold separately.

Retained Factory Features: The Crux CS-GM43 facilitates the replacement of the factory radio in a compatible 2019-up GM vehicle with an aftermarket head unit, while retaining important factory installed features - such as steering wheel controls, backup camera, RAP (Retained Accessory Power), and warning chimes.

  • Steering Wheel Controls: The Crux CS-GM43 lets you retain your vehicle's factory steering wheel controls. There are two steering wheel control harnesses; you will only use one based on the brand of your aftermarket stereo. Both feature a 4-pin connector which plugs into the interface module. One of the SWC harnesses is equipped with a 3.5mm connector and one blue/yellow wire (for Alpine/Clarion/JVC/Kenwood/Jensen/Dual/Boss), while the other is only equipped with a 3.5mm connector (for Pioneer/Sony). There are three dip-switches on the interface module that allow you to program the CS-GM43 to work with your aftermarket stereo (see Installation Instructions for DIP Switch Settings.
  • Backup Camera: The CS-GM43 allows you to retain your GM vehicle's backup camera through the interface harness's male composite video connector. Your aftermarket in-dash stereo must have a composite video camera input and a built-in video monitor. Backup camera retention is only possible in GM vehicles with an IOR RPO code factory radio installed (excluding the 2019-up Chevy Camaro).
  • RAP (Retained Accessory Power): The ignition power source of most GM vehicles keeps the radio on until one of the doors is opened; this feature is lost when replacing the factory radio with an aftermarket head unit without the proper installation accessories. The CS-GM43 is designed to retain the RAP feature and keep the radio powered after the key is off, until the driver door is opened or the OEM timer ends; whichever happens first.
  • Warning & Safety Chimes: The Crux CS-GM43 retains factory warning & safety chimes through the use of an on-board speaker. The volume of the chime speaker is adjustable through a potentiometer on the interface module.

Notes:

  • Does not retain the factory Bose amplifier.
  • Does not retain factory OnStar.

Outputs: The Crux CS-GM43 radio replacement interface module provides a +12V Accessory, Illumination, and Reverse output - simplifying your installation.

Q
3rd party 4ch amp supported?
robert  Aug 09, 2022
1 answer
A
This harness would be used if you wanted to put an aftermarket radio in, so technically YES you can connect any 4 channel amp to your new radio's pre-outs and then wire new speaker wires from the amp to the speakers, Robert. This harness works well for that plan! IF you are looking to add amps and keep the factory radio we have a two piece kit that works a little better for vehicles with no OEM amp. The first link below is a PAC LPHGM71 in/out harness. Paired with the PAC LPA-E.4 LocPro Advanced line output converter in the second link (or any LOC with speaker level inputs) you can add any amp with RCA inputs to your OEM radio. The LPHGM71 has a spot on it where you can cut and splice in your wiring from the amp to the speakers if you'd like to retain your factory wiring too and save some time! https://www.crutchfield.com/p_541LPHGM71/PAC-LPHGM71-LocPro-Advanced-T-Harness.html https://www.crutchfield.com/p_541LPAE4/PAC-LPA-E-4-LocPro-Advanced.html

Q
What is the 3.5mm jack with the brown and brown/white for?
travis  Jul 30, 2022
1 answer
A
Those female 3.5 to bare brown wire are only used IF you need them as adapters for the steering wheel control retention, Travis. Most radio's will use the 3.5 direct connect plug to 4 pin OR the other 4 pin SWC adapter spliced in. Crux tosses those guys in for convenience if you need them, a solid move if you ask me! Keep in mind too whenever you are having issues with connection on ANY products you got from us, you can call our live Tech Support team anytime we are open, that's what we are here for!

Q
Are the buttons on the steering wheel the same as stock or or they different ?
jeremy  Jul 25, 2022
1 answer
A
Greetings Jeremy, and thank you for your question. The steering wheel buttons will work the same with a compatible stereo. What will not work would be anything to do with the phone. Like answering, hang up if you have those buttons, those will be lost.
