About the Crux CS-GMC2 Wiring Interface

Install a new radio and keep your factory features
You'll only be able to retain your steering wheel audio controls with a compatible car stereo made by Alpine, Boss, Blaupunkt, Clarion, Dual, Jensen, JVC, Kenwood, Pioneer, Sony or Soundstream. No other brands are currently compatible.
Install a new radio and keep your factory features
The Crux CS-GMC2 interface allows you to install an aftermarket radio in select 2000-2013 General Motors vehicles while retaining your warning chimes. The interface works in GM vehicles with or without a factory amplifier. If you're installing a compatible Alpine, Boss, Blaupunkt, Clarion, Dual, Jensen, JVC, Kenwood, Pioneer, Sony or Soundstream car stereo, you'll retain the use of your steering wheel audio controls.
Many General Motors vehicles don't have a 12-volt accessory wire in their wiring harness, but this interface supplies that wire. The system includes the control module and vehicle and steering wheel control harnesses.
Important Note: You will not retain fader control in the GM Bose Y-91 premium system. This interface does not retain the factory OnStar system in vehicles so equipped.

Note: Radio information through the factory HUD (Heads-Up Dispaly) will be lost after installing an aftermarket radio, but vehicle information will still be retained.
Amplified or Non-Amplified Systems: The CRUX CS-GMC2 can be used in GM vehicles with or without a factory amplified system. Its compatible with Bose, non-Bose, and Y-91 audio systems. Front & Rear fading is not retained in vehicles with a factory Y-91 Bose system.
Steering Wheel Control Retention: The CRUX CS-GMC2 also features a steering wheel control output for Pioneer, Sony, Alpine, Clarion, Kenwood, JVC, Jensen, Dual/Axxera, Boss and other aftermarket head units. The steering wheel control output consists of a right-angle 3.5mm connector and a light blue/yellow wire (use the connection that your aftermarket head unit is fitted with). The CS-GMC2 interface module will work with any of the listed aftermarket head units, by setting its three dip-switches (see owner's manual for appropriate setting).
Note: There are two steering wheel control harnesses; you will only use one based on the brand of your aftermarket stereo. Both feature a 4-pin connector which plugs into the interface module. One of the SWC harnesses is equipped with a 3.5mm connector and one blue/yellow wire (for Alpine/Clarion/JVC/Kenwood/Jensen/Dual/Boss), while the other is only equipped with a 3.5mm connector (for Pioneer/Sony).
+12V Accessory Output: In many GM vehicles, there is no 12-volt accessory wire in the factory harness, which requires the installer to run an accessory wire to the fuse box or underneath the steering column when installing an aftermarket radio. The CS-GMC2 is designed to provide a 12V/3A switched accessory output (red wire).
Warning Chimes: The Crux CS-GMC2 retains factory warning & safety chimes through the use of an on-board speaker. The volume of the chime speaker is adjustable through a potentiometer on the interface module.

This interface worked exactly as described in my 2007 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 with my new Pioneer Media Receiver. Chime volume control is a nice feature that improves on the factory's tone.
