Features

Radio Replacement Interface: The CRUX CS-GMC2 is a radio replacement interface for select GM Class II dataBus vehicles. It facilitates the integration of an aftermarket radio and enables retention of factory features when replacing a factory installed radio in select GM vehicles (with or without factory-installed amps). This interface is also pre-programmed for retention of steering wheel controls.

Note: This interface does not retain the vehicle's factory OnStar, if equipped.

Vehicle Compatibility: The CRUX CS-GMC2 radio replacement interface works with the following 2000-2013 GM Class II dataBus vehicles (as of 2/9/2017):

Note: Radio information through the factory HUD (Heads-Up Dispaly) will be lost after installing an aftermarket radio, but vehicle information will still be retained.

Amplified or Non-Amplified Systems: The CRUX CS-GMC2 can be used in GM vehicles with or without a factory amplified system. Its compatible with Bose, non-Bose, and Y-91 audio systems.  Front & Rear fading is not retained in vehicles with a factory Y-91 Bose system.

Steering Wheel Control Retention: The CRUX CS-GMC2 also features a steering wheel control output for Pioneer, Sony, Alpine, Clarion, Kenwood, JVC, Jensen, Dual/Axxera, Boss and other aftermarket head units. The steering wheel control output consists of a right-angle 3.5mm connector and a light blue/yellow wire (use the connection that your aftermarket head unit is fitted with). The CS-GMC2 interface module will work with any of the listed aftermarket head units, by setting its three dip-switches (see owner's manual for appropriate setting).

Note: There are two steering wheel control harnesses; you will only use one based on the brand of your aftermarket stereo. Both feature a 4-pin connector which plugs into the interface module. One of the SWC harnesses is equipped with a 3.5mm connector and one blue/yellow wire (for Alpine/Clarion/JVC/Kenwood/Jensen/Dual/Boss), while the other is only equipped with a 3.5mm connector (for Pioneer/Sony).

+12V Accessory Output: In many GM vehicles, there is no 12-volt accessory wire in the factory harness, which requires the installer to run an accessory wire to the fuse box or underneath the steering column when installing an aftermarket radio. The CS-GMC2 is designed to provide a 12V/3A switched accessory output (red wire).

Warning Chimes: The Crux CS-GMC2 retains factory warning & safety chimes through the use of an on-board speaker. The volume of the chime speaker is adjustable through a potentiometer on the interface module.

How many wires altogether?
destiny  Feb 13, 2025
1 answer
A
Hey Destiny, this harness has 14 loose wires altogether though there is a chance you will only utilize 11 or 12 of them at best and this will depend largely on your vehicle. For details on installation please contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and give you the details on what you will need for an installation.

Q
Will this work on atoto aftermarket head unit ? 2008 c6 corvette
ian  Oct 07, 2024
1 answer
A
The Crux CS-GMC2 is compatible with your 2008 Chevrolet Corvette and works with either the Bose or non-Bose trim levels, Ian. This harness does NOT retain any Onstar features. While we cannot guarantee compatibility or steering wheel control button retention with radios we do not sell, this harness should work fine to install any touchscreen radio that physically fits into your dash. The Crux CS-GMC2 does feature a steering wheel control button setting for Atoto radios, good news! Make sure to also add the Metra 95-3304 dash kit and Metra 40-GM10 antenna adapter in the two links below if you do not have them on hand to complete the install. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_120953304/Metra-95-3304-Dash-Kit-Black.html https://www.crutchfield.com/p_12040GM10/Metra-40-GM10-Antenna-Adapter.html

Q
Installing on a 02 trailblazer with a Boss head unit. Do I connect the amp turn on wire to the amp turn on wire out of the head unit? Or are they both gonna have power lol? The one off the head unit is supposed to be to an aftermarket amp, which i am installing.
raystrange  Oct 04, 2024
1 answer
A
The amplifier turn-on connection from the radio is required to be connected to the Crux CS-GMC2 interface when installing, Jay. This connection will turn your factory amplifier on if your Trailblazer features the Bose premium amplified audio system. You can also use the 12-volt turn on wire to turn on your aftermarket amplifier by making a 3-way splice at the radio to harness connection.

Q
I put in a Leadfan double din radio in my 2005 silverado 2500 with the factory bose sound system, is this kit going to plug into my radio and my stock amp? and will my speakers work? I got the radio wires connected and the radio works just not the speakers.
emmett  Aug 14, 2024
1 answer
A
We are not familiar with Leadfan brand of radios, but if yours is designed so that it can be installed into any vehicle that can fit a double din radio, then this harness will allow that radio to be installed and work with the stock amp.

Q
Just installed in a 2006 Corvette base convertible with Bose. The radio is a Jensen Car723w. The factory warning chimes are not working. What can I check?
lloyd b  Aug 08, 2024
1 answer
A
Greetings Lloyd. Thank you for your business. The chime retention module has a volume adjustment on it. Perhaps that is set so low, you cannot hear it. If that does not fix the issue, I would have you contact our technical support group. Their number will be on your shipping confirmation email.

Q
I was trying to do an existing radio but my aftermarket radio isnâ??t listed what do I do and does you guys stereos come already wired and another thing the real long red wire how would that work with you guys stereo?
jemarion  Jul 07, 2024
1 answer
A
So more than likely, if you are okay with doing the wiring yourself, this harness should be able to be wired up to your existing radio assuming this harness is the correct one for your vehicle. If you were looking to get this harness pre-wired to a radio, you can do what is called the ReadyHarness service but that is only possible if you buy a headunit from us as well. If this was something you were interested in doing, we have advisors who can be reached by calling 1-800-324-9695 that can help recommend the best radio and install gear for your goals. They can also go over any installation notes.

Q
would this work on a 2006 gmc sierra with steering wheel controls paired with a Kenwood DPX540BT?
connor  May 24, 2024
1 answer
A
It sure can work with a Kenwood radio that has a steering wheel radio control input to retain the steering wheel radio controls in 2006 GMC Sierra pickups! We never offered your receiver, but based on the information we can find online, it does have a steering wheel radio control input and should work

Q
Will this work for a SANPTENT Double Din Car Stereo in my 2003 Z71 Tahoe? (Steering wheel controls but no on star)
doug  Nov 09, 2023
1 answer
A
This Crux CS-GMC2 wiring interface is compatible with the 2003 Chevy Tahoe both with and without the Bose premium audio package, Doug. This interface does support steering wheel audio control button retention, but we cannot confirm any retention with radios we do not carry. There are selectable dip switches for the radio brand, and there is a setting for "most off-brand radios" per CRUX, though this is not guaranteed to work with all radios. I hope this helps!

Q
I have a 05 Grand Prix with monsoon amplifier. Will this harness work for a Amazon stereo and maintain steering wheel controls?
skyler  Oct 13, 2023
1 answer
A
Greetings Skyler. Thank you for your question. This harness is compatible with your 2005 GP with Monsoon, will keep the Monsoon amp working, and it keep steering wheel controls working with most stereos. It will be dependent on the stereo at this point. If it is a stereo we sell as well, chances are great.

Q
Will this work for a 2005 Cadillac Escalade Esv? The list doesn't show the Esv just the Escalade but it says it will fit my vehicle.
joshua  Aug 31, 2023
1 answer
A
The Crux CS-GMC2 wiring interface will work with the 2005 ESV, Joshua. With compatible radios this does support steering wheel control retention, factory amplifier and subwoofer and retained accessory power. This does not retain Onstar if you have that as an original feature. We are always here to help!

Q
My 2007 Silverado 2500 HD Classic has two connectors in the Bose radio. One is very large, while the other is smaller. This kit only has one very large connector. Do I just not use the second, somewhat smaller connector that is used on the OEM radio? The Metra kits appear to use both (GMOS-014).
