Features

Radio Replacement Interface: The CRUX CS-TJ20 is a radio replacement interface for select Toyota and Lexus vehicles with factory JBL audio systems. It facilitates the integration of an aftermarket radio and enables retention of factory features when replacing a factory installed radio in select Toyota and Lexus vehicles featuring factory JBL audio systems. The CRUX CS-TJ20 is also pre-programmed for retention of factory steering wheel controls.

Vehicle Compatibility: The CRUX CS-TJ20 radio replacement interface works with the following 2003-2017 Toyota and Lexus vehicles featuring factory JBL audio systems.

Make Model Year
Toyota 4 Runner 2003-2019
Avalon 2005-2018
Camry 2007-2017
Camry Solara 2004-2008
Corolla 2009-2017
FJ Cruiser 2007-2014
Highlander 2008-2018
Matrix 2005-2012
Prius 2004-2017
Rav4 2004-2018
Sequoia 2005-2018
Sienna 2004-2016
Tacoma 2005-2019
Tundra 2004-2019
Venza 2009-2015
Yaris 2008-2011
Lexus ES300 2004-2006
IS300 2003-2005
LS430 2006 (does not retain steering wheel controls)
Note: The CRUX CS-TJ20 comes with two types of wiring harnesses (TY-A and TY-B). The TY-A harness is used for newer model vehicles only, while the TY-B harness is for older model vehicles only. You will only use one; not both.

Retains Factory Amplifier: The CRUX CS-TJ20 will retain your vehicle's factory JBL Harman-Becker Digital-Synthesis Amplifier, including JBL (Pioneer-made) amplifiers. Use the three gain adjustment dip-switches to level match your aftermarket head unit's output with the factory amplifier's input. Balance (left/right) control is supported. However, fading (front/rear) control is not supported and lost when replacing the factory radio with an aftermarket head unit.

Retains Steering Wheel Controls: The CS-TJ20 will retain your vehicle's factory steering wheel controls. Two steering wheel control harnesses are included, but only one will be used based on your brand of aftermarket head unit (see Installation Instructions). You will also need to configure the CS-TJ20's three dip-switches based on your brand of aftermarket head unit (see Installation Instructions). Retained steering wheel control functions will vary by brand of aftermarket head unit (some functions require short or long button press).

  • Power/On Off
  • Source
  • Volume Up/Down
  • Mute
  • Track/Seek Up, Track/Seek Down (including Presets)
  • Pick Up/End Call
  • Voice Control (requires aftermarket head unit with Siri or Android control)
Note: The CS-TJ20 is compatible with Alpine, Clarion, Boss, Dual/Axxera, JVC, Kenwood, Jensen, Pioneer, and Sony aftermarket head units with steering wheel control wire or input.

Retains Factory Aux Input: The CS-TJ20 lets you retain your vehicle's factory Auxiliary Input through the use of your aftermarket head unit's rear-panel Aux input. The CS-TJ20 is outfitted with stereo RCA jacks, so if your aftermarket head unit features a 3.5mm jack, you will need a RCA-to-Minijack adapter (sold separately).

Retains Factory Backup Camera: The included TY-A harness features a composite video jack and a 12V-to-6V voltage converter to retain your vehicle's factory backup camera (if equipped). Your aftermarket head unit will need a composite video camera input to retain your vehicle's camera backup camera.

Note: The included TY-B harness does not retain the factory backup camera.

Navigation Outputs: The included TY-A harness provides a Parking Brake, VSS (vehicle speed sense), and a Reverse Gear output to make installing an aftermarket navigation head unit simpler and less time consuming.

Q
Does this product retain the rear speakers? I've heard conflicting info in the reviews. I was also wondering what the install process is like and how easy it is. Thanks!

A
When this is installed into compatible vehicles, it will allow all the stock speakers including the rear speakers to work. It does not retain the ability to fade the audio. I recommend contacting an advisor by calling 1-800-324-9695 to check compatibility with your vehicle.

Q
If no fade setting, does that means it will be center with front and rear speaker working?
kalape  Apr 19, 2024

A
Greetings Cheng. That is an excellent question. ?Balance and fade will be lost when the factory radio is removed. This Crux will not auto center the balance and or fade. You must do this on the factory radio, before removing the factory radio.

You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your factory system. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you.

I honestly have had non-stop issues with it. Some days it works and other days it doesn't. I wish I could give you better information. I'm about to swap it out for another brand. My install guy agrees.

It worked on my 2005 Seinna with JBL system. Steering wheel controls work. Only thing that doesn't work is fade front to back.
