Steering wheel control problems still

After trying two other harness that claimed they would work with my 2011 Malibu I tried the Crux. Everything worked as promised except I'm still having trouble getting steering wheel buttons to work right. Both volume up and down buttons both decrease the volume can't find a fix and sure do not want to tear dash apart again to fix. This harness worked correctly with Bose speaker system so that was a relief.

Device worked as expected. Allowed me to use my steering wheel buttons. Please keep in mind the adjustable volume dial located on this device. The turn signal sound is now produced by this device. Well, at least on my vehicle. So, adjust the volume as you see fit before you put all your trim pieces back in place.

Super simple and works first time

I don't know why anyone would attempt to install one of these high tech stereos without using this interface. With it, I was able to simply plug the stereo into the cars wiring harness. I could have paid a mere $29 for Crutchfield to make the dozen or so connections for me but I would have had to wait a couple days. I am experienced with wiring streetrods so this was easy for me but most people should probably pay for the service as poor crimp connections or crossed wires will cause headaches. That said, the harness plugged into my cars harness and allowed me to retain the Mongoose amplifier and factory speakers. This was a HUGE savings because the Mongoose system uses a mixture of 2 and 4 ohm speakers which would have required me to replace speakers in my cars "premium" sound system. Everything on my steering wheel works like it always did. Because in 2006 there were no such thing as back up cameras in my car, the only wire that was not in the factory harness was the reverse signal wire. Once I tied the reverse wire into this, everything was plug and play. I made all the connections on my kitchen table, no laying under the dash!

Great product, instructions could be better.

Product works as described, but some the of written instructions included are poorly worded and/or not relevant. Thankfully, the instructions provided by Crutchfield for my vehicle were great and allowed me to update my car easily.

Exact Need General Motors

Does exactly as described once juice is powered. Retains factory settings with OnStar & other essentials. Works well with steering wheel controls. Nothing lost transitioning to upgraded system. No lag & great response. Thanks Crutch!

Don't Work Completely

The only reason why Im even giving two stars is because this interface came from Crutchfield and they will try to correct the problem as long as it takes. This time Crutchfield could not fix the problem even after replacing the Crux product. This interface will not allow the steering wheel control to work properly and even Crux could not correct this problem. Do not buy this one for your project.

Thought I would share an issue regarding the installation of the Pioneer DMH-W3050NEX in my 2008 Saturn Sky. The install took some time but not overwhelming. Everything looks ,works, and sounds great. The only issue I had after the install was my remote door and trunk key fob would not work. I then went to a local locksmith and he fixed the problem for$10.00. He told me on some GM vehicles that after removing an OEM radio the key fobs need to be reset.

Must have for GM replacement

Replaced a "homemade" wiring system that had the door chime on 180db and no steering wheel controls worked. This solved all of those.

I'd Use Crutchfield Again in a Heartbeat

When I got the kit, I was a little confused as to the procedure to connect the harness to the existing stock harnesses. One phone call to the tech support folks quelled my confusion. The phone call to them was late on a Friday afternoon, just minutes before 5:00 pm closing. The tech helping me said they'd take whatever time was necessary to solve my problem. In this day and age, who treats customers like that? Very impressive company, for sure. Take your time, think it through. I now have a great sounding Boss Audio system in my car. I highly recommend these systems, and Crutchfield is a reputable partner in the aftermarket stereo community. I'd use them again in a heartbeat!

Didn't work properly, Crutchfield was very helpful In trying to get it to work, Crux customer support was a joke, "it works for me" never had any corrective action.

The wiring interface was pretty good except the reverse camera would not turn on in reverse. It would only turn on manually. I had to disconnect the wire and jump to a reverse wire. It was a pain had to tair car apart to find the correct wire. I paid for this controller so wouldn't have to do that.

Crux ONST-11B, 2010 Chevy Cobalt

Very easy, and straightforward install, especially with the CRUTCHFIELD ready harness option. Only a couple wires that I had to connect. The rest were connectors that are impossible to to connect wrong. The only problem I have is the volume controls on the steering wheel of my 2010 cobalt both function as volume down. Not a huge deal, but slightly annoying. That's the reason for the 4 stars, would be 5 if this worked correctly.

I have a 2010 chevy mailbu, and it interfaces very well! I wired a backup camera and wired the red reverse trigger wire to the striped purple reverse In of the harness and it worked!

Made things simple to hook up with the harness . It would have been nice to know that the supplied steering wheel control jack had to be spliced to the back of the Keenwood head unit . Had to call the tech line and he knew right away what needed to be done . But now both volume up and down only function as down . Never had and issue with the old tuner.

Compatibility not Accurate

Audio portion works well, but was unable to get the steering wheel controls and back up camera to function properly on a 2006 Pontiac Solstice. Crutchfield Tech Support has been great and sending me a different interface type.
