Love it! This is truly plug and play. I looked forever for a device so I could hook up a aftermarket camera to my oem Ford Sync 4" screen in my 2016 f150 and this is exactly what I needed.

Beautiful works as advertised. I have tried everything and couldn't get my backup camera to work. So I was very skept about this one. But I bought to try my luck. I installed it and it worked I was so excited. Finally I found it. Thanks so much.

Works great.
Rex from Nebraska City on 4/19/2022
2016 Ford F-150 XLT
Everything worked perfectly. I did follow the pointers from Mike from Indianapolis: dip switches 5 &6 on, power up then move dip #2 to on. Reverse display responds quickly. OEM display is small but clear and quite adequate.
Pros: Quick image response. Preserves OEM A/V and sync system.
Cons: Instructions could be improved. Needs foam or adhesive for vibration noise prevention.

Poor Design Quality/Firmware

Well, I am on module #3. The first one didn't recognize the camera, the second one randomly powered off the radio and would flip the video feed. Let's hope the 3rd unit is a charm

Instructions need to specify NOT to hook up the camera to the reverses wiring at the taillight, as per the aftermarket camera directs. This resulted in too much voltage in the Crux and it heated. Crutchfield replaced the faulty unit and everything worked great with the new one.
Pros: With as expected.
Cons: Instructions could have been better

At first I thought it wouldn't work because I went to multiple car body shops and Ford dealerships wondering how I could place the backup camera. Everyone told me it would not be possible. The only option I found was placing it the rear view mirror. After looking for more option I found this page and I was indecisive about the product because I was told the Ford Explorer screen could not create images. I took the risk of buying this products after speaking with customer service because they made me feel more confident about this product. I ended up being very satisfied with this product. I also made my own YouTube video.

DIY 'Factory Installed' Results
Mike from Indianapolis, IN on 5/31/2019
2014 Ford Edge
Once I overcame a couple of minor glitches, the module works like a dream; camera displayed as soon as I enter reverse, returns to radio when placed in drive. The first glitch was a result of my own foolishness. However, even though the problem was my own, Adam of Crutchfield's Customer Support could not have been more patient and helpful. The second issue can be avoided as follows: My module was received with all DIP switches on the 'off' position. After the module is installed, BEFORE turning on the ignition, move DIP switches 5 & 6 to 'on'. Then turn on the ignition, allow the radio to 'boot-up', then move DIP 2 to the on position. Without first moving DIP 5 & 6 to 'on', the radio will not turn on, giving the impression that something is wrong. Just make sure DIP 5 & 6 are moved to 'on' first, allow the radio to perform its normal startup, then move DIP 2 to 'on. You'll notice a red LED near the DIP switch location flash rapidly for a few seconds ( a good sign!). Then you should be good to go. Again, I can't thank Adam enough for his patience while I figured out my bone-head mistake. Incidentally, my dealer wanted $1200. to "put something together" for a backup camera. The Crux module provides a 'factory-installed' look, something the other add-on back-up camera kits just cannot do. One final thought, there are a number of Youtube videos relating to working in the tailgate, and disassembling the dash of the Ford Edge. These videos are invaluable. Thanks, Mi
Pros: Gives professional, factory-installed look and performance. Crutchfield Customer Support is excellent.
Cons: Directions relating to initial DIP switch settings need addendum. Expensive, but not when compared to dealership alternative.

Buyer be ware!
George from Orland Park, IL on 11/8/2018
2013 Ford F-150 FX4
"BUYER BE WARE!" Installed one of these on a my 2013 Ford F150 with standard 4" display. The first one did not function correctly it had to be returned. The new one has been installed, but there still is a problem. Rear camera engages when placed in reverse, then once you move to drive the camera stays displayed until you drive 10 - 15' (Crux says this is normal?). Now while driving forward, the screen "goes blank" for 10 to 15 seconds, then comes back to normal operation. (No pattern as to when this happened or how often - real frustrating) Talked with Crux tech support several times to get a solution - at the time of this review (11/8/18, 10:09am), still no acceptable solution, but they now think it may be in the included wiring harness. Now trying to determine if I want to try a new harness or just call it a bust and return it. Stay posted PS: it takes about 45min to take the dash apart to get to the wiring harness and components. Done it 4 times now in an effort to get it working correctly.
Pros: None at this time.
Cons: Does not function correctly - no ware near what you could expect compared to a factory backup camera setup.
