About the Pro-Ject Clean it

Dust + oil = gunk
Dust + oil = gunk
Over time, oil and dust can form a waxy buildup on your turntable cartridge's stylus. Mostly, this buildup comes from dirty records, so you should also consider a record cleaner. You can't really see this gunk without magnification. But you will hear it. It sounds kind of like a radio station that you're losing as you drive out of its range.
A simple solution
I once hauled my turntable into the shop for this very reason. I felt kind of dumb when the technician pulled out his handy stylus brush and solved the problem in less than five seconds. Everyone who has a turntable should have one. You won't need it every day, but when you need it, you need it. It's super easy to use: two or three strokes in the same direction that your vinyl rotates — back to front — will remove the gunk.
