Superb Turntable, Significant Feedback
Brian from Villa Rica, GA on 7/7/2025
Upgraded to the EVO 2 after an unfortunate incident that damaged my AT-LP120-USB. Decided to go with a simple, yet what I believe to be high quality, entry level turntable. I never used the USB portion of the LP120, anyhow. The EVO 2 is incredible. The sound quality is amazing. It's currently paired to a Denon DRA-800H receiver and I think that this is a very solid setup for turntable/phono use, which is almost exclusively what I use it for. I did get A LOT of feedback through the turntable when placing it in the exact location as the LP120. After some rearranging/re-isolating the new turntable I am back to normal and completely satisfied.
Pros: Super low noise. Very clear highs. Solid low freq's.
Cons: Initially, lots of feedback. A little too much highs! Could use a little more low freq's.

Pro-Ject Debut EVO 2

Quality not as good as my old Technic turntable, no auto return, cartridge needle too lightweight to easily control, and needs falls on record and scratches it.

Pro-Ject Debut EVO 2
CJ from Bellingham, WA on 4/29/2025
Absolutely loving the Pro-Ject Debut EVO 2. The build quality is outstanding-solid, elegant, and minimal without feeling delicate. Setup was straightforward, and the cartridge delivers warm, detailed sound right out of the box. The new tonearm design tracks beautifully, and the overall playback feels tight and immersive, especially with well-pressed vinyl. I'm hearing nuances in familiar records that I hadn't noticed before. For the price, it's hard to beat-this is a serious turntable for anyone who wants audiophile performance without stepping into esoteric territory. Highly recommended.

Great Turntable
David from Ossining, NY on 3/27/2025
Very pleased with the Pro-Ject EVO 2. The overall build is solid and looks great. Set up was easy, and those kinds of things tend to frustrate me to death, this did not. Very pleased with the sound quality. There is great detail to the music, with warm rich tones. Vocals are clear, bass is full and punchy with crisp edges. I think this is a superb turntable for the price. I did upgrade to the Leather TT mat as the felt mat that came with the unit was not to my liking. Perhaps the only detail I would like to see is the ability to change the tone arm height to deal with different t platters, like acrylic, or mats of various thickness. proJect recommends not going above 2.5mm on a TT mat.
Pros: Excellent sound quality. Build quality. Heavy platter with sound dampening ring.
Cons: Non adjustable tone arm height.

Upgrade IT
David from Port Orange, FL on 3/8/2025
The Pro-Ject Debut EVO 2 is a great turntable right out of the box. My old Technics SL 1500 is also a great TT but it needs some TLC. I looked at several others costing more and some less expensive ones but decided on the EVO due to the upgrades available (acrylic platter, aluminum sub platter, etc.). The build guality is also good. The cost is more than some others but because of the DIY upgrades it makes for a good choice in the long run. You're also purchasing through a steeler company, Crutchfield. The manufacturer is no slouch either. Thumbs up for this great deck!
Pros: Easy set up. Good quality product. Upgrades galore.
Cons: Whimsy wall wart power supply but if it keeps the costs down, it's a good deal.

Around the Plynth
Ray from Taylor, MI on 2/5/2025
I purchased this turntable because it flaunted that there would be no noise emitting from it. They weren't lying. To my amazement I can hear nothing because the Pro-Ject people have accomplished what they set out to do! It's so nice to put on an album and not hear any audible noise coming from the Platter or the tone arm or the plinth. The Sound is much more abundant. The music is deeper and enhanced more than any other turntable I have ever owned. I know there are those who will say that there are better turntables out there. Yes, but at what price? This Pro-ject is all you need.

Pro-Ject Debut EVO 2
Chris from Chantilly, VA on 1/26/2025
The Pro-Ject Debut EVO 2 is outstanding all-around! This a major upgrade from my previous turntable and I am utterly amazed with everything about it. Fairly easy set-up. anti-skate and tonearm counterweight took some time, but not too troublesome. The MM EVO cartridge sounds wonderful and has brought more life to my LPs. It's a beautiful piece of craftsmanship. Highly recommend!

Pro-Ject Debut EVO 2
Bryce from CLEVELAND, OH on 10/19/2024
Overall build feels really solid and it looks very nice, but I don't really like the included cartridge/stylus. Tonearm is nice to operate, motor is quick and steady, setup was easy. At this price point though, factoring in a cartridge upgrade immediately puts you very close (or into) to the next tier of turntables that usually come with better cartridges already installed, alongside some nicer components. I could be too picky - I'm sure someone just getting into turntables would love this and maybe not even notice the problems I was hearing. Mid-range and bass sounded good, but I was sometimes hearing a harsh high end and some vocal distortion even after insuring the turntable was level and setup correctly
Pros: Build Quality
Cons: Cartridge may need an upgrade

I'm in love with this Evo 2
Yuriy from Jersey City, NJ on 10/16/2024
I love Pro-Ject and Heinz Lichtenegger's approach to making things simple and good at the same time. This is the man who secured investments and started a turntable business in the year when vinyl was officially declared dead as a format. It's incredible! While this facelifted Evo II is not a high-end device and there are many aspects that could be improved and upgraded, the great everyday user experience is guaranteed. Thanks to Crutchfield for shipping it to the US and delivering it to my home.
Pros: A full room of upgrades available for this model. Good preinstalled cartridge that you can use without upgrading for the first time. This is a real good first table option on the market. Colors are beautiful.
Cons: AC adapter looks cheap. But I'm sure, upgrading this part won't deliver too many changes in sound.
