    Product Research

    Features

DLP Projector: The JVC LX-NZ30 is HiFi-peformance, home theater DLP projector that utilizes laser light source technology.

    • BLU-Escent Laser Light Source: The JVC LX-NZ30 utilizes a BLU-Escent laser light source that achieves 3300 lumens brightness and 20,000 hour long life illumination. Thanks to the high brightness, a fully darkened room is not required to achieve excellent image quality, allowing the projector to be used in typical living and family room settings with high ambient light. Regardless of the room design, the projector delivers high quality HDR images with wide dynamic range.
    • High Dynamic Contrast: With mechanical apertures on other projectors, there is some delay when adjusting light output, but JVC's laser light source can control light output instantaneously, so dynamic brightness adjustment is possible with little or no delay. By controlling the output of the laser according to the brightness of the scene, the LX-NZ30 can reproduce images closer to reality. Moreover, when a complete black signal is input, contrast of infinity:1 can be achieved by controlling the laser output.

Native 1080p Resolution with 4K E-Shift: In addition to a 1920x1080 single-chip DLP system, the LX-NZ30 features a 0.47" Digital Micromirror Device incorporating 4K E-shift technology to produce super high-definition projection of 4K-resolution (3840x2160 pixels). Resolution in the vertical and horizontal directions is virtually doubled thanks to E-shift technology, which shifts one pixel for every 0.5 pixels to produce a 4K image. JVC's E-shift technology is able to reproduce the fine nuances and unique tone of a video image, enabling you to enjoy a 4K-resolution image with extreme realism and presence in your home theater environment.

Note: The JVC LX-NZ30 is not a native 4K projector. It has a native resolution of 1920x1080 and uses E-shift technology to create a 4K image.

HDR With Auto Tone Mapping: The JVC LX-NZ30 projector supports HDR content, both HDR10 adopted for UHD Blu-ray and HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) adopted for broadcast cable, satellite and live TV. Furthermore, the LX-NZ30 automatically switches to the optimal picture mode based on the signal detected so users can enjoy HDR content without the need for manual adjustments. HDR content brightness varies greatly from one release to another. To optimize performance based on content, the LX-NZ30 is equipped with JVC's Auto Tone Mapping that reads content brightness metadata (Max CLL / FALL) and automatically adjusts brightness settings based on that information - MaxCLL (Maximum Content Light Level), MaxFALL (Maximum Frame Average Light Level). In the case of content that does not contain mastering information, it will refer to a fixed value or need manual adjustment.

Note: The LX-NZ30 projector does not support HDR10+ or Dolby Vision.

1.6X Zoom Lens: The LX-NZ30 is equipped with a 1.6X zoom lens that supports a projection distance of 7.8' to 22' for up to a 200" screen. You can adjust the projected picture size by turn the zoom ring on the projector. You can also sharpen the picture by rotating the focus ring on the projector. The distance from the projector lens to your projection screen, the zoom setting, and the video format each factors in the projected image size.

Aspect Ratio Screen Or Image Size Projection Distance (wide to tele)
    16:9 80" 94" to 151"
    90" 106" to 170"
    100" 118" to 189"
    110" 130" to 208"
    120" 142" to 227"
    130" 154" to 246"
    140" 165" to 265"
    150" 177" to 283"
    160" 189" to 302"
    170" 201" to 321"
    180" 213" to 340"
    200" 236" to 378"

Lens Shift & Keystone Correction: The JVC LX-NZ30 projector features Lens Shift with a wide +/- 60% vertical and +/- 23% horizontal range. This flexibility allows placement in a wide range of environments without the need for keystone correction, which can degrade image quality. The projector does offer vertical keystone correction (+/-30 degrees), but this process will degrade the image. Keystone correction can correct the shape of the image, if it is not rectangular. You can also manually adjust the four corners of the image by setting specific horizontal and vertical values of 45 or 90 degrees.

Video Inputs: The JVC LX-NZ30 projector offers HDMI, USB, and PC connectivity.

    • HDMI 2.0: The JVC LX-NZ30 is outfitted with two HDMI 2.0 Inputs that are HDCP 2.3 compliant with support for 4K @ 60/50/30/25/24Hz and HDR sources; such as Blu-ray, Gaming, and Online content. The LX-NX30 projector supports 4K/60p @, 4:4:4/36bit, 4K/60p @ 4:2:2/36bit, and 4K/24p @ 4:4:4/36bit signals. It also supports 1080p @ 120/60/50/24Hz, 1080i, @ 60/50Hz, 720p @ 60/50Hz and 480p (480i is not supported). Use a certified Premium High Speed HDMI Cable (18Gbps compatible) when inputting 4K video signals from an external UHD device.
    • USB-C Port: There is a USB-C port (5V/2A) that can be used for playback of 4K/HDR sources from a USB-C enabled MSC (mass storage class device), such as thumbdrive or hard disk drive. There is also a rear-panel USB-A port that is used for service and firmware purposes only.
    • DisplayPort: You can also connect your Windows PC or Mac computer to the projector via the projectors DisplayPort. The DisplayPort will support video up to 3840 x 2160 @ 60Hz.

Note: The JVC LX-NZ30 is not a native 4K projector. It has a native resolution of 1920x1080 and uses E-shift technology to create a 4K image.

Low Latency Mode: The JVC LX-NZ30 projector's Low Latency Mode reduces delay in displaying PC signals and games, improving response time for rapid operation. The LX-NZ30 supports up to 4K/60Hz or 1080p/120Hz in Low Latency Mode.

Picture Modes: You can select a preset picture mode to suit your operating environment and input signal picture type.

    • Natural: The Natural mode provides well-balanced color saturation and contrast with a low brightness level, this is most suitable for video images.
    • Cinema: The Cinema mode delivers a well-balanced color saturation and contrast with a low brightness level, this is most suitable for enjoying movies in a totally dark environment (as you would find in a commercial cinema).
    • Dynamic: Dynamic mode maximizes the brightness of the projected image. This mode is suitable for environments where extra-high brightness is required, such as using the projector in well lit rooms.
    • Gaming: The Gaming mode is best for playing video games in rooms where there is a small amount of ambient light.
    • Animation: Animation mode is best suited for watching cartoons and animated films.
    • User (1/2): The User mode allows you to customize picture adjustments with two custom preset User modes. Manual picture adjustments include Brightness, Contrast, Color Temperature, Tint, Gamma, and Sharpness.

Note: When HDR10 or HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) content is inputted to the projector, it automatically switches to the appropriate picture mode.

Advanced Picture Settings: The JVC LX-NZ30 also offers more advanced picture adjustments to fine-tune the projector's image.

    • Picture Tone: The Picture Tone function works to balance gamma, contrast, and brightness settings without affecting the grey scaling of the original source to enable brightness adjustment that better matches the surrounding environment.
    • Brilliant Color: Brilliant Color Technology is specially-designed to offer higher brightness while maintaining accurate color across your content.
    • Color Management: Color Management provides six sets (RGBCMY) of colors to be adjusted. You can select any of them to adjust its color range and saturation.

Aspect Ratio: You can manually select the aspect ratio or have the projector automatically set the aspect ratio to match your content image and screen. The Auto setting scales the picture proportionally to fit the projector's native resolution in its horizontal or vertical width; this makes the most use of the screen and maintains the aspect ratio of a picture. Manual settings include 4:3, 16:9, and 16:10.

Remote Control: The JVC LX-NZ30 comes with an IR remote control, plus features a RS232 port and 12V trigger output.

    • IR Remote: In addition to controls on the projector, the LX-NZ30 comes with an IR remote for wireless operation of the projector. The remote control must be held at an angle within 30 degrees perpendicular to the projector's IR remote control sensors to function correctly. The distance between the remote control and the sensors should not exceed 26'. Make sure that there are no obstacles between the remote control and the IR sensors on the projector. By pressing the "Light" key, you can turn on the remote's backlight so you can see the remote's button better in the dark.
    • RS-232C Port: There is a RS-232C port (D-sub 9-pin) for connecting the projector to a 3rd party A/V controller or automation system (sold separately).
    • 12V Trigger Out: The 12V trigger output (3.5mm) can be used to trigger and power on/off external devices such as an electronic screen or light control.

Power Management: The projector can be set to automatically turn on when it senses an HDMI video signal and automatically power offer when no video signal is present after a set period of time (10, 20, or 30 minutes). You can also activate a Sleep Timer to have the projector turn off automatically after a set period of time of 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours, 4 hours, 8 hours, or 12 hours. In addition, there is a Power Saving feature that enables the projector to enter a low energy mode if there is not signal for 5 minutes.

Mounting Options: The JVC LX-NZ30 can be installed in front of your projection screen or behind your projector screen. It can be tabletop mounted or ceiling mounted (ceiling mount bracket sold separately - see Accessories Tab). If you are tabletop mounting the projector, you can use its two adjustable feet to change the image height and projection angle. Before choosing an installation location for your projector, take the following factors into consideration -

    • Size and position of your projection screen
    • Electrical outlet location
    • Location and distance between the projector and the rest of your equipment

Note: See User Manual for more information regarding mounting options and installation requirements.

Detachable AC Power Cord: The LX-NZ30 comes with a detachable 68" AC power cord (IEC 3-prong) that plugs into the back of the projector and into an AC wall outlet or surge protector/line-condition (sold separately).

Greetings Adam. Projectors output the same frame rate as they are input. so 24 FPS will output 24 FPS. The refresh rate however can differ. Most projectors only need to refresh at 60 Hz. This one can refresh up to 120 Hz. The specifications page on this model is in the manual below. https://pdf.crutchfieldonline.com/ImageBank/v20230615095400/Manuals/257/257LXNZ30B.PDF

    Q
Is this a 4K Projector or 1080P, confused with the EShift.. does this means irrespective of input 4K or 1080P video input, it upscales to display 4K and not a 4K as 4K?
    senthil  Nov 05, 2024

    A
Greetings Senthil. This JVC is a pixel shift type, not a native 4K projector. The HDMI inputs do however a 4KL resolution as an input.

Greetings Sergio. Thank you for your question. It has no audio output. It is to be used with an AV receiver, or a sound bar with HDMI in and out. It has no internal speakers either.
