A brilliant upgrade from the M106's
Hank from EL CERRITO, CA on 6/16/2025
I upgraded from the Revel M106 speakers, and what an incredible upgrade it is. These are phenomenal speakers. The highs are crystal clear, cymbals have never sounded so good, while the base is surprisingly good for this size speaker. The soundstage is excellent, and I can listen to these for hours without getting fatigued. I'm so grateful to have these.
Pros: Incredibly clear, sounding, with a great soundstage and transcendent highs.

Outstanding Sound
Mark from Boulder, CO on 3/30/2025
Beautiful looking bookshelf speakers that won't disappoint. Amazing sound stage with lots of depth and clarity that gives your favorite songs a whole new feel because you're hearing more details. Due to the 50 watt minimum recommended power these speakers can be a little demanding of your amp. Crutchfield helped me find the right amp within my price point for these and the NAD Master Series M23 performs admirably. Be warned, for better or worse these speakers will reproduce what comes out of your amp exactly. My Primare I25 Prisma amp worked fine with my JBL-HDI 1600 speakers, but thanks(?) to the higher frequency range of the M126Be's, I noticed slight distortion on the higher frequencies. I highly recommend these if you're looking for something small, but mighty.
Pros: Looks better in person than what the pictures show.
Cons: A little tricky to power for some amps.

Revel on a Shelf
Jack L from Genoa City, WI on 8/17/2024
I mounted these on a shelf (resting on IsoAcoustics ISO-PUCK minis) for use as surrounds in a 5.1 setup. Fronts are Revel PerformaBe F228Be with a Revel C426Be center. Exceptional clarity, detail retrieval, and dynamic range. The off-axis performance makes it a great fit for the surround role.

Revel PerformaBe M126Be
GLEN from Castle Rock, CO on 8/14/2024
This is a terrific set of bookshelf speakers. They hit the mark. Even frequency response, not fussy about placement, beautiful highs and the mids are mind-blowing. In a small room you might not even need a subwoofer. They do need some run-in as the tweeter to my ears (I'm very sensitive to brightness) were harsh at first, so I let them run in a closed room from Friday night to Tuesday morning and they really became sweet. I did return these because I did preferred another set of speakers from Crutchfield over these, but by a small margin for nearly double the price. If you want bookshelf speakers and this is your budget it's hard to think you'll be disappointed.

A Worthy Upgrade
Brian from Burien, WA on 7/31/2024
Upgraded from the M105 speakers. These sound a bit better with much better dynamics. These sound clear as loud as my ears can take. Crutchfield's excellent service and 60 day trial makes it the best retailer.
Pros: Everything
Cons: White drivers and gloss finish

Revel PerformaBe M126Be
Jim from Vancouver, WA on 6/13/2024
Very good looking and great sounding on well recorded music like Jazz or I played a few YouTube tracks from Adel and her voice was as good as it gets. Loud rock is just a bit lacking only due to there size but if you get a good sub. That will dial them in . Revel is under rated and you will never be sorry.
Pros: Looks, build quality, sound
Cons: High cost, lacking a little bass on rock music

Revel PerformaBe M126Be
Robert from Largo, FL on 11/22/2023
Why would anyone use the M126Be as a rear surround side speaker. Because it's a perfect match for the front F226Be. These sound absolutely amazing. I listen to music quite a bit and these absolutely sound amazing for music and movies. Do the research rear side surrounds are as important as the front mains. I replaced my Definitive STL towers and surrounds with the Revel line BE and can honestly say this is the best acoustically sounding system I have ever owned ...
Pros: Sounds is Acoustically Perfect.
Cons: Non-Pricey but worth it!

Nearly Unassailable
Crutchfield customer from Colonia, NJ on 2/21/2020
Amazing speaker. One of the best purchases of my life. Queen's "Somebody to Love" on these speakers, in a decent room with decent positioning..UNREAL. That sound could motivate a man to take on an army. My Klipsch RP-450M speakers are good speakers, but in comparison to the Revels, they lack that something "special" extra that the Revels have. While there are a (very) few recordings or songs I like a bit better on the Klipsch, for the vast majority of content, I prefer the Revels. I know - not a fair comparison given the price difference, but I figure the Klipsch is common enough that a comparison would be helpful (see pros/cons). It is also worth noting that the Klipsch have a narrow "sweet spot". Set up the speakers in a room, and anyone can notice the difference in sound if you walk 4 feet to the right of the right speaker - the sound changes quite a bit for the Klipsch. Not so for the Revel, which doesn't change much.
Pros: - Nothing I've heard quite makes Freddy and the boys come alive quite like this - Wide dispersion - Don't require tons of power (I've been able to use a 50W amp without issue) - Rock solid enclosure
Cons: - Expensive - Not as dynamic as a horn speaker such as the Klipsch RP-450M - Certain lower frequencies sound better on the Klipsch versus the Revel (silly example, but the scene from the movie "Legend" (1985) where darkness laughs, is much more impactful on the Klipschs, despite the smaller woofer on the Klipsch)

Wide sound stage and very precise
Crutchfield customer from North Carolina on 1/22/2020
Clear and exact. Sound stage is very wide--sound everywhere. If you listen to jazz, strings, acoustic guitar or classical this is a great speaker by itself. If you like rock plan to add a sub as it will fill out the low end. Great sound. I debated spending the money--glad I did!
Pros: Very clear and exact. Sound stage is very wide--sound everywhere. I debated spending the money--glad I did!
Cons: Not really a con, but out of space. Limited base, but that is to be expected. Plan to get a sub for 2 channel or home theater. Make sure the sub is as precise as these bookshelves!

As good as it gets!
Dan from Crested Butte, CO on 1/24/2019
These new Revels are simply incredible! The Revel f206 floorstanders were my all time favorite speakers and I blind tested them in my listening room against some excellent speakers. The 128bes are a big step up and I really think about as good as it gets. The floorstanding version (228BE) are 10 grand and I've heard are extremely close the top of the line Revels. Considering you are getting the exact same mids and highs with these that should tell you all you need to know. Using with a Musical Fidelity M6si and a Chord Qutest with a sub in a well treated room and I can't imagine a more enjoyable setup. Definitely give them a try!
