Ultra Short-Throw Laser Design: The EpiqVision LS650 combines Epson's 3-chip/3LCD projector engine with an advanced ultra short-throw lens and a laser-array light source to produce incredible picture brightness, black contrast and color accuracy. Plus, thanks to its unique ultra short-throw lens, the EpiqVision LS650 laser projector can be placed mere inches from the wall and screen for easy - drastically reducing the throw distance.

    Notes:

    • Do not look into the lens during projection. Also, do not look into the lens using optical devices, such as a magnifying glass or telescope. This could cause visual impairment. When turning on the projector at a distance using the remote control, make sure no one is looking into the lens.
    • There is a Motion Sensor feature that can be activated, so the projector automatically reduces the brightness of the laser light source for safety when someone comes close to the unit while projecting.

3LCD: The Epson EpiqVision LS650 projector utilizes 3-chip LCD technology for amazing color, incredible detail and solid reliability. 3LCD's 3-chip architecture dedicates an entire chip to process each primary color - red, green, and blue, continuously. Unlike single-chip technology that delivers color sequentially, you get full-time color. The result is vibrant, realistic images and video all delivered with 3LCD's true-to-life color.

    • True-to-Life Colors: 3LCD delivers up to 3x brighter colors in comparison with 1-chip DLP projectors. Color Brightness (Color Light Output) measured in accordance with IDMS 15.4. Color Brightness will vary depending on usage conditions. Additionally, 3LCD projectors have up to 3x Wider Color Gamut than 1-chip DLP projectors. With its 3-chip design, 3LCD delivers clear and vibrant images that are true-to-life. In contrast to 3-chip 3LCD projectors, 1-chip DLP projectors use a rotating color wheel that spins at a rapid speed, only displaying colors sequentially, which can result in color break-up or the "rainbow effect".
    • Greater Detail & Contrast: 3LCD projection efficiently uses light to project to the screen with no color disruption. 3LCD technology delivers sharper and brighter images with superior gray-scale detail. Gray-scale is the shades of gray (from black to white) required for greater image depth and detail; it allows greater variation in shadows and brings superior accuracy to color, creating a jaw-dropping, true-to-life visual experience
    • Energy Efficient: 3LCD projection technology uses light efficiently to create stunning images. In contrast to 1-chip technology, 3LCD requires 25% less electricity per lumen of brightness. 1-chip projectors use a color wheel, which leads to an inefficient design, thereby causing light loss. 3LCD does not rely on a color wheel. On average, 3LCD projectors are 25% more energy efficient.
    • Simple & Reliable Design: 3LCD systems are reliable and use a simple optical design which includes 3 chips and 1 prism. Light flows seamlessly through the system to produce brilliant on-screen colors and sharp images every time.

4K PRO-UHD Projection Technology: The Epson EpiqVision LS650 has a native resolution of 1080p (1920x1080) and employs Epson's 4K PRO-UHD Projection Technology to create an enhanced 4K (4096x2160) image. 4K PRO-UHD Projection Technology utilizes advanced processing to enhance resolution (4K), color (10-bit), and image processing (12-bit); resulting in an exceptional 4K home theater experience.

    • 4K Resolution Enhancement: Pixel-shifting technology precisely controls the projector's three individual, high definition LCD chips and shifts millions of pixels diagonally to double the resolution and surpass Full HD image quality for an enhanced 4K experience.
    • Full 10-Bit HDR: The EpiqVision LS650 accepts 100% of the HDR source information to faithfully reproduce HDR content for an amazing visual experience. HDR (High Dynamic Range) reproduces a greater dynamic range of luminosity or brightness levels, bringing greater contrast & wider color spectrum to the screen. This increased contrast reveals the subtle nuances of the image, from detailed blacks and shadows to the brightest whites and colors, plus greater depth. The EpiqVision LS650 supports HDR 10 and HLG (not compatible with Dolby Vision).
    • Analog-to-Digital Video Processing: Real-time 10-bit analog-to-digital video processing for smooth tonal transitions, while helping to eliminate banding, blocking, and other compression artifacts from the final visual performance. This powerful processing technology faithfully reproduces the source material the way it was intended to be shown

Note: The EpiqVision LS650 has a native resolution of 1080p (1920x1080) and incorporates pixel-shifting technology to create an enhanced 4K image (4096x2160).

HDMI 2.0 (18Gbps): The Epson EpiqVision LS650 is equipped with two HDMI 2.0 inputs (18Gbps) that are compatible with virtually all color formats, depths and spaces while simultaneously supporting 4K/HDR content at a full 60Hz. All HDMI inputs are HDCP 2.2 compatible. The HDMI 2 input also supports eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel).

    • Supported Video Resolution: In addition to 4K (3840x2160) @ 24/30/50/60Hz, the HDMI inputs will also accept 1080p @24/30/50/60Hz, 1080i @ 50/60Hz 720p @ 50/60Hz, and 480p/i video resolution signals.
    • HDCP 2.2: HDCP 2.2 is supported by both HDMI inputs. HDCP 2.2 is short for "High bandwidth Digital Content Protection" and is used for 4K video copyright protection for compatibility with Ultra HD Blu-ray players, 4K Satellite/Cable providers, and ultra high definition online video services.
    • HDMI eARC: The HDMI 2 input offers eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel) for connection to an AV receiver or soundbar, and is compatible with Dolby Digital, Dolby Atmos (via Dolby Digital Plus), DTS, and 2ch PCM. The built-in speakers are muted when utilizing HDMI eARC.

Note: Use a premium high speed HDMI cable with 18 Gbps and above to view 4K/HDR content.

Image Settings: Settings on the Image menu let you adjust the aspect ratio, color, and quality of your image for the input source you are currently using. The available settings depend on the currently selected input source.

    • Aspect Ratio: You can select the following image aspect ratios, depending on the input signal from your image source. Black bands and cropped images may project in certain aspect ratios, depending on the aspect ratio and resolution of your input signal.

The projector has infrared receivers on the front and rear to give you control from most anywhere in the room (up to 19.7').

Note: The remote must be paired with the projector prior to initial use.

Google Assistant Voice Control: The Epson projector supports Google Assistant voice control for Android TV through the built-in microphone on the included remote control. You can simply trigger the Google Assistant by pressing the mic button on the remotes and then speaking into the microphone after hearing an audible prompt. You can ask the Google Assistant to access Android TV apps, as well as control basic playback functions of those apps. In addition to TV voice commands, you can use the Google Assistant to control connected smart home devices and other Google Home enabled devices. The Google Assistant can also be used to find answers for many of your daily questions through Google's advanced search engine. In addition, the projector also supports voice control through the Google Home family of wireless speakers (sold separately - see Accessories tab) and other Google Assistant enabled devices (sold separately - see Accessories tab).

Note: The projector has to be connected to your WiFi router and ISP (internet service provider) in order to use Google Assistant and voice control.

HDMI Link: When you connect an HDMI CEC-compatible device, such as Blu-ray player or satellite/cable box, to the projector via HDMI, you can control the device using the HDMI-Link control buttons on the projector's remote control. You can register the device you want to operate in the HDMI Link section of the projector's menu.

Epson Setting Assistant App: The Epson Setting Assistant app (for Apple iOS 13.0+ and Android OS 10.0+) automatically corrects the shape of the projected image by taking pictures with your device's camera. You compatible smartphone or tablet device and the Epson projector must be connected to the same WiFi network. By taking a photo of the projected pattern with the camera of your Apple iOS or Android device, the Epson Setting Assistant app automatically corrects distortion in the projected image and adjusts its shape to match the screen.

    • Wall Correction: By taking a photo of the pattern projected onto a wall, the app detects unevenness in the surface of the wall and corrects distortion in the projected image.
    • Screen Correction: By taking a photo of the pattern projected onto an ultra short throw screen, the app matches the shape of the image to the frame of the screen.

Sleep Timer: The projector can be set to automatically turn off after a set period of time (0 to 120 minutes).

    Mounting & Screen Options

Mounting Options: The Epson EpiqVision LS650 can be placed on a tabletop in front of your projection screen. You can adjust the image height by raising or lowering the two rear feet and one front foot. The LS650 does not support rear projection or ceiling mounting. If the projector is to be used at an altitude above 4921 feet (1500 meters), the High Altitude Mode should be turned on so the fan can properly cool the projector at the high altitude air pressure.

Projection Screen Requirements: Because the EpiqVision LS650 employs an ultra-short design, an ultra-short throw rated screen is required and sold separately. The ultra-short laser projector can produce an image that is adjustable from 80" to 120" (measured diagonally). The projector's ultra short-throw lens lets you place the projector only inches from the wall and screen.

Screen Or Image Size (16:9 Aspect Ratio) Projection Distance
    80" 17.7"
    90" 20.2"
    100" 22.7"
    120" 27.6"

Note: The distance at which you place the projector from the screen determines the approximate size of the image. The image size increases the farther the projector is from the screen, but can vary depending on the zoom factor, aspect ratio, and other settings.

Image Adjustment: You can project an evenly rectangular image by placing the projector directly in front of the center of the screen and keeping it level. If placed on a tabletop or other flat surface, you can adjust the image height slightly using the projector's adjustable feet. To adjust the image height, set the projector higher or lower while keeping it level and parallel to the screen. If you place the projector at an angle to the screen, or tilted up or down, or off to the side, you may need to correct the image position and shape for the best display quality by using the projector's controls.

    • Focus Lever: Raise or lower the projector's focus level to sharpen the image on the projection screen.
    • Flexible Picture Menu: You can use the Flexible Picture menu to reduce the projected image size and change the position of the image without moving the projector.
    • Installation Menu: You can correct distortion when the projected image shape is curved or not rectangular by following the on-screen instructions from the projector's Installation menu.

Note: To provide the best possible image quality, adjust the projector's position to correct the image shape. Due to the ultra-short throw characteristics of the projector, the projected image is greatly affected by small movements. Adjust the projector's position in small increments to square up the image. If this isn't possible, you may need to use the above listed control functions to correct the image.

Detachable AC Power Cord: The Epson EpiqVision LS650 comes with a detachable 68" AC power cord (IEC 3-prong) that plugs into the back of the projector and into an AC power outlet or surge protector/line conditioner (sold separately - see Accessories Tab).
