Beatiful rainbow-less viewing
Joseph from Tucson, AZ on 1/15/2024
This is pretty beautiful, and my first projector. Did my share of reading about pseudo-4K, ambient light, and nits. I'm also very susceptible to DLP rainbows so will never go that route again. Primary display is a 65" LG OLED, so I do love my blacks. But even tho no projector will be _that_ black, the LS800 combined with an ALR screen looks fantastic to me, especially when you consider the COLORS! We've all seen projectors of various kinds and expect a certain washed-out projector-like look but I am in awe of the overall display. UST convenience and "light cannon" brightness, combined with a 100" screen, pack a wow. Have not noted fan noise at any time during actual viewing. 5 stars if it were true 4k, a thousand bucks less, and made martinis, but hey. Sorry can't review the Android side much as that won't be my source material. Very content with my questionable financial priorities.
Pros: Image quality, color reproduction, sharp focus throughout, brightness to spare
Cons: Super-short throw is almost _too_ short, not allowing screen to be placed slightly higher above projector

Do. Not. Buy. This. TV. The hardware is junk.
Disappointed from Seattle on 9/23/2023
The picture is great, when it works! Less than 2 weeks after I got this up and running it was having hardware problems. First, the video started freezing in every app after playing 3 seconds of a video stream. I tried closing the app, force quitting, reinstalling, and reseting the TV. Nothing worked. If you use any streaming apps, this basically makes the TV useless. You can try a factory reset and deleting all the apps, but the problems don't go away. Sometimes the TV would go into idle mode and not come back and would freeze up when you tried. I had to manually pull the plug to get the TV to turn off at that point. Nothing would work on the remote control and the button on the unit itself was unresponsive. It's a pretty piece of junk. If you like useless plastic, this is a good buy for you! You can get a hunk of junk in black or white, your pick! Do not buy this TV, spend your money elsewhere. I also have a problem with the return policy on this item. Crutchfield should make it easier on the customer to return a defective item. Having to go without a TV for a few weeks while they correct the problem is not my idea of the best customer service. Overall, I'm pretty disappointed in my purchase. I'll give the company and Crutchfield a chance to fix the problem, but if my next unit has the same issues I'm certainly asking for my money back and updating this review.
Pros: Good picture when it works
Cons: -Slow to respond remote that must be pointed at the right angle to work. You have to have line of sight despite it being bluetooth. -Apps become unresponsive for no reason, reinstalling does not fix the problem. Not good for streaming. -TV goes into idle mode and freezes. You have to pull the plug to reset the TV. -Unit gets hot and requires a lot of ventilation -The interface is slow and clunky when it works -You WILL have to go without a TV while you deal with your return/excha

Great product - for the specific requirement
Matt from Arlington, VA on 8/27/2023
I will preface my review with I am not a fan of projectors. My set up - 18x14 home theater room - no ambient light. LS800 to replace legacy rear projection 120" 1080p. While we have a dedicated theater room - it doubles for gaming. So I want to be clear, as my boys got older "gaming" has changed so as I looked for 4k I really am balancing family gaming and home cinema experience. This projector meets a very specific niche - either you cannot have a rear projection for whatever reason or you want a bigger 120" screen. I would not buy this for for a 100" display; I started with the Samsung Q80C OLED 98" as I do not like projectors - but for movies 98" was too small. Rear projection for gaming (particularly FIFA/casual Smash Brothers/Street Fighter) the shadows were a deal killer...so this ultra short throw it fit the bill. For serious gaming we have PCs in another room, and the projector is flanked by 2 40" monitors for frame rate for "semi competitive" FPS or Smash Bros and other console exclusive games (no one really plays anything competitive or serious on a large screen). For theatre room it works, halo over the Epson 120" SilverFlex screen that is annoying. For gaming there is one HDMI input, and as I mentioned for serious gaming your only option is going through a receiver or switch which adds delay - so for casual gaming - sure, it works. Serious gaming, no. Movies - absolutely. It is on par with Q80C ; buy if you need 120". For 1
Pros: Convenient to avoid shadows for kids gaming and moving
Cons: It is for casual gaming - like Switch Sports or fun group games - only one game input; so requires external control for multiple consoles

This is an exceptional projector
C from Charlottesville, VA on 12/27/2022
I don't usually write reviews, but am because this is not a 3/5. This projector is a 5/5. This projector is fantastic. I have it paired with a Vividstorm 120" floor screen and there's no going back. Buy, buy, buy. I'm very happy.
Pros: Picture Price
