So far, this has been a great value and pretty decent overall lens
Pros: Great price and zoom range. Good lens for what I was after
Cons: None so far. Haven't printed pictures taken with this lens yet though.

Good zoom

I bought this as a gift for my wife, along with the Rebel T3i. I was impressed by the difference in this zoom, vs the standard lens. Crutchfield gave me a good deal on it too, so I'm happy with the price.

Great for Beginners & intermediates, If your looking for a Telephoto lens then you've realized you want more from your camera. As long as you know how to hold your camera with a telephoto lens this is the one you want.
Pros: easy to use for crisp pics at a distance.

Great beginners tool

When you search the reviews on various websites regarding this zoom lens, you get mix reviews. Either the reviews hate it or love it. Very seldom do you find middle ground. I, however, believe that this lens is fantastic for beginners and intermediate users who are not accustom to using zoom lens. The lens itself is very powerful, it does not have a automatic stabilizer, but you do not need it if you know how to hold the camera correctly. The zoom itself works great, getting up close to the subject. I've tested the zoom with airplanes flying by, and depending on their altitude you get clear, cut images, some images you can see the grooves on the tires as the aircraft lands, with other aircrafts, you can see the name clearly on the wing, when with your naked eye you barely see a the image. This zoom lens will help beginner photographers learn about distance, focusing, not only with auto but under manual control (which I preferred). You will become comfortable and once you are done learning and growing with this lens, you can move on to other lens that offer more.
Pros: Easy to use, easy to hold, great ability to zoom long distance providing clear crisp images
Cons: when using manual control, the grooves to adujust camera is not easily found at times, however, if you constantly practice, you will create muscle memory and will have no problem locating the groove to adujust focus.
