Can we talk?

I am so disappointed with this Canon purchase. This camera lacks the needed controls that my Sony has. If I could, I would ship this purchase back to Crutchfield and exchange it for the Sony ARIII or even the IV. But this purchase I made of the Canon with lackluster sharp lenses, leaves me in troubled waters with my employers who hire me to do professional photo shoots. Even after hours of study, I never expected to deal with this. Can't we do something to exchange this?

Canon EOS RP (no lens included)

The flexibility of this offering is wonderful, adding the adapter to this sale was great as I can use it with my legacy lenses from Canon and Tamron. I had to get some Full Frame lenses for a particular need, but besides that coming from Canon's T3i this is a wonderful upgrade, numerous features that I can grow with. Side note with the battery life is you will need two or more as it is rated for 250 shots or so and less for video use, but all in all still a good deal for me .

Better than it gets credit for

Great camera if you're using it for what it's meant to be. The image quality is great with the EF adapter and a nifty fifty. The camera is very comfortable to hold, though anyone with medium to large hands should probably add on the grip extension. Makes a great introduction to full frame and I cannot wait to try an RF lens on it.

5/5 big time improvement

I upgraded from a 70D to the RP and WOW am I amazed! I shoot mainly landscapes, portraits, travel photography type stuff, and my cat. No sports, no video. For me this thing is perfect. Pros: Classic Canon controls made it a breeze to switch over. The sensor is phenomenal, noise is hardly a nuisance up to ISO 6400 or 8000. Much more versatile than I was used to in terms of being able to use natural light when it's dark. Dynamic range is great, look it up if you need the deets but anecdotally it's way better than anything I've seen before. Cons: battery life, sure (but batteries are small and cheap). The EF converter ring adds more length than I figured it would, so all my great glass looks a little doofy (but still performs great of course so I can't complain too hard). Other thoughts: check out Ken Rockwell's setup guide. I used a bunch of his tips and modified the rest to suit my style of shooting, but it's super helpful as a quick reference if you are familiar with Canon and don't want to dig into the manual right away. If you don't have small hands, get the extension grip. My hands aren't particularly large but I'm super glad I got the grip, this thing is so tiny; so light
