I have found that I need to use a monopod or tripod to get the best photos. I am still learning how to hold camera still.

Great lens for the money

As many reviewers have pointed out, this is the "cheaper" version of the 800mm Canon lens. The EF prime 800mm F5.6 lens runs around $13,000 (yikes). Although there is the f/11 limit and you need good light for it to perform well, for $900 it is a fantastic lens. I have paired it with my Canon R5 and the R5 handles low light extremely well (going to 6400 iso still renders great photos). I viewed a half dozen youtube reviews on this lens and all reviewers were blown away at what it accomplishes at this price point.
Pros: Price, image quality, and zoom reach
Cons: Needs good daylight to perform well

Great Lens

Great lens for the price. If you can't afford the larger 800mm lens this one gives great clear images.
