Features
ARC Extender Kit: The Simplified MFG ARCEX kit consists of a Transmitter and Receiver that uses category (CAT5/6/7) cable to get digital audio from a TV back to an AV receiver or other audio device that is too far away to use a traditional HDMI ARC or optical S/PDIF cable. The ARCEX can take the HDMI ARC audio of a display to an amplifier or other HDMI ARC enabled device and transmit it in full bandwidth up to 295' (90m). HDMI CEC transmission is also supported, so your TV's remote can be used to control the volume of your AV receiver. In addition, the ARCEX also supports optical S/PDIF transmission up to 492' (150m) @ 96kHz and 295' (90m) @ 192kHz.
Note: The Simplified ARCEX is an audio extender only. It does not transmit, receive, or extend video signals.
HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel): The ARCEX's Transmitter is equipped with a HDMI ARC input to connect to the HDMI ARC jack on your TV or display monitor, while the Receiver is equipped with a HDMI ARC output to connect to your AV receiver. The HDMI ARC input and output support LPCM, DTS, and Dolby Digital (up to 5.1ch). Supported sampling rates include 32kHz, 44.1kHz, 48kHz., 88.2kHz, 96kHz, 176.4kHz & 192kHz.
Note: Many newer TVs and AV receivers support HDMI eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel). eARC is backward compatible with ARC. However, the Simplified MFG ARCEX will not support the transmission of Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, DTS:X, or DTS-HD.
Optical S/PDIF: The ARCEX's Transmitter is also equipped with an Optical S/PDIF input to connect to the optical digital audio out of your TV or display monitor, while the Receiver is equipped with an Optical S/PDIF output to connect to your AV receiver. The Optical S/PDIF input and output support LPCM, DTS, and Dolby Digital (up to 5.1ch). Supported sampling rates include 32kHz, 44.1kHz, 48kHz., 88.2kHz & 96kHz.
Note: There is a switch on the Transmitter that will switch the unit to HDMI ARC or Optical S/PDIF mode.
Category Cable Connection: The Transmitter is outfitted with a RJ-45 output, while the Receiver is outfitted with a RJ-45 input - allowing you to run a category (CAT5/6/7) cable between the Transmitter and Receiver. The ARCEX kit supports category cable runs of up to 295' (90M) for HDMI ARC, as well as category cable runs up up to 492' (150m) @ 96kHz and 295' (90m) @ 192kHz for Optical S/PDIF.
HDMI CEC: HDMI Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) is a feature of HDMI designed to allow you to operate and control devices connected through HDMI by using only one remote control. HDMI CEC is supported by the Simplified MFG ARCEX kit, so your TV's remote can be used to control the volume of your AV receiver.
Power Requirements: The Transmitter and Receiver each feature a microUSB power port and comes with a USB/AC power adapter and 39" microUSB-to-USB cable to power the respective units. The Transmitter and/or Receiver can also be powered via a USB-A port (rated 5V/1A) found on your TV or AV receiver.
Mounting Options: The ARCEX's Transmitter unit and Receiver unit can simply be table-top mounted on a flat horizontal surface, or mounted on a wall or to a piece of AV furniture using the included mounting brackets.
