eARC Extender Kit: The Simplified MFG eARCEX kit consists of a Transmitter and Receiver that uses category (CAT/6/7/8) cable to get digital audio from a TV back to an AV receiver or other audio device that is too far away to use a traditional HDMI eARC/ARC or optical S/PDIF cable. The eARCEX can take the HDMI eARC audio of a display to an amplifier or other HDMI eARC enabled device and transmit it in full bandwidth up to 328' (100m). HDMI CEC transmission is also supported, so your TV's remote can be used to control the volume of your AV receiver. In addition, the eARCEX also supports optical S/PDIF transmission up to 492' (150m) @ 96kHz and 328' (100m) @ 192kHz.
Note: The Simplified eARCEX is an audio extender only. It does not transmit, receive, or extend video signals.
HDMI eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel): The eARCEX's Transmitter is equipped with a HDMI eARC input to connect to the HDMI eARC jack on your TV or display monitor, while the Receiver is equipped with a HDMI eARC output to connect to your AV receiver. The HDMI eARC input and output support PCM, DTS, and Dolby Audio formats. Supported sampling rates include 32kHz, 44.1kHz, 48kHz., 88.2kHz, 96kHz, 176.4kHz & 192kHz.

Note: HDMI eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel) is backward compatible with standard ARC (Audio Return Channel). However, if your TV or AV receiver only supports ARC (not eARC) it will not be able to output Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, DTS:X, or DTS-HD.
Optical S/PDIF: The eARCEX's Transmitter is also equipped with an Optical S/PDIF input to connect to the optical digital audio out of your TV or display monitor, while the Receiver is equipped with an Optical S/PDIF output to connect to your AV receiver. The Optical S/PDIF input and output support PCM (up to 2.0ch), DTS (up to 5.1ch), and Dolby Digital (up to 5.1ch). Supported sampling rates include 32kHz, 44.1kHz, 48kHz., 88.2kHz & 96kHz.
Note: There is a switch on the Transmitter that will switch the unit to HDMI eARC or Optical S/PDIF mode.
Category Cable Connection: The Transmitter is outfitted with a RJ-45 output, while the Receiver is outfitted with a RJ-45 input - allowing you to run a category (CAT/6/7/8) cable between the Transmitter and Receiver. The eARCEX kit supports category cable runs of up to 328' (100M) for HDMI ARC, as well as category cable runs up up to 492' (150m) @ 96kHz and 328' (100m) @ 192kHz for Optical S/PDIF.
HDMI CEC: HDMI Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) is a feature of HDMI designed to allow you to operate and control devices connected through HDMI by using only one remote control. HDMI CEC is supported by the Simplified MFG eARCEX kit, so your TV's remote can be used to control the volume of your AV receiver.
Power Requirements: The Simplified MFG eARCEX comes with a single AC power adapter. The power adapter can be plugged in at the Transmitter or Receiver and will supply power to both units. Make sure the power connection to the unit is made before plugging in the power adapter to AC.
Mounting Options: The eARCEX's Transmitter unit and Receiver unit can simply be table-top mounted on a flat horizontal surface (does not come with brackets to wall-mount).
