SoundTube's CM82-EZ-II in-ceiling speaker lets customers hear music and announcements clearly. Its wide 105-degree horizontal coverage pattern makes it easier and less expensive to design a system to fit a larger space.
Each speaker has an 8" poly woofer with butyl rubber surround and 1" silk dome tweeter. A built-in transformer tap lets you use one amplifier to drive several speakers in an efficient distributed audio system. Convenient mounting arms make installation easier.

Features
Overview: The Soundtube CM82-EZ-II is a 2-way, blind-mount, in-ceiling speaker featuring a coaxially mounted 8" woofer and a 1" tweeter. The speaker features transformer tap settings for 25, 70, and 100 volt operation, and also includes a 16Ω bypass. Designed specifically for indoor paging and background music, the CM82-EZ-II is ideal for hotels, restaurants, airports, churches, and similar applications.
Drivers: The CM82-EZ-II features an 8" polypropylene woofer with a butyl rubber surround along with a 1" silk dome tweeter, all mounted in a sealed steel backcan enclosure. This combination delivers high efficiency and performance across the operating bandwidth with a frequency response of 92Hz to 18kHz (-3db). Able to handle up to 64 watts RMS (128 watts Program power) and with a sensitivity of 89 dB, the CM82-EZ-II can provide clear powerful sound with a coverage angle of up to105˚ (@ 2kHz).
Enclosure: The CM82-EZ-II is housed in a galvanized steel backcan with an ABS plastic front baffle along with a painted steel-mesh grill. The grill can be painted to match the room color and includes an attached safety restraint lanyard. The CM82-EZ-II enclosure carries both UL1480A and UL2043 UL certifications and is CE and RoHS approved.
Mounting: Installation of the speaker is done blind-mount using Soundtube's proprietary SpeedWing mounting arms. Two constant-tension, winged assemblies come pre-mounted to the speaker. Once the speaker is slid into the ceiling opening 2 Phillips-head screws on the front of the speaker are tightened. This expands out the SpeedWing mounting arms providing tension on the backside of the mounting surface. The CM82-EZ-II can be mounted to ceilings ranging in thickness from 0.04 to 1.6 inches, including drop-ceilings using the optional Tile Bridge (not included). Three secondary attachment points are provided on the back of the speaker for an additional safety line.
25/70/100 Volt: The CM82-EZ-II can be used in 25, 70, and 100 volt applications and includes a 16Ω bypass selection. A tap selection dial on the front of the speaker allows for easy configuration without having to remove the speaker from the ceiling. The following tap settings are available:
- 25 Volt: 0.5W, 1W, 2W, 4W, and 8W
- 70 Volt: 4W, 8W, 16W, 32W, and 64W
- 100 Volt: 8W, 16W, 32W, and 64W

Terminals: A 4-position ceramic terminal strip is provided for wiring connections. One set of terminals provides the signal input while the other set provides a pass-thru for daisy-chaining multiple speakers. Each terminal can accommodate speaker wire up to 12 gauge in size and includes a set-screw to hold the wire firmly in place.
