Features

Overview: The Soundtube HP890i is a pendant-mount 25, 70, and 100 volt commercial speaker designed for high SPL output (115.0dB) for sound reinforcement and public address systems, both indoors and outdoors. The speaker is well suited for gyms, stadiums, airports, super-stores, transportation hubs, and other open-ceiling applications.

Drivers: The HP890i features an 8" fiber-treated woofer with a cloth surround, along with a 1.42" titanium compression driver with waveguide. The high output speaker incorporates Soundtube's patented BroadBeamHP waveguide technology, delivering a consistent dispersion pattern for maximum intelligibility and edge to edge coverage.

Enclosure: The HP890i housing offers long lasting performance and durability with its patented ZeroReflection enclosure design, delivering optimal sound reproduction and cabinet rigidity. The enclosure is made with glass-fiber reinforced injection molded ABS, along with a powder-coated steel grill. All the speaker components have been weatherized for indoor/outdoor applications and carry both UL1480 UEAY and UL2239 ratings.

25/70/100 Volt: Designed primarily for distributed systems, the HP890i includes a 120 watt transformer housed inside the speaker enclosure. Wiring connections consist of a 4-terminal Euroblock connector on top of the speaker that can accept speaker wire from 22 - 14 gauge in size. One set of terminals is provided as the input while the other paralleled terminals can be used for daisy-chaining multiple speakers. A terminal weather boot is provided to protect the Euroblock connector from dust and moisture. The rotary tap-dial is accessed through a removable rubber plug on the grill and provides the following tap selections along with an 8Ω bypass selection:

25V: 1.9W, 3.8W, 7.5W, and 15W
70V: 15W, 30W, 60W, and 120W
100V: 30W, 60W, and 120W

Installation: The pendant speaker is designed to be suspended using the included 10.5' galvanized steel cable system. The top of the speaker houses the suspension point with 3 holes for attaching cables; the center one is for attaching the main support and either of the secondary holes is used for the safety line (both cables are included). Two Gripple SpeedClamp wire hangers are included that allow the suspension cable length to be easily adjusted.
