Features

Overview: The Soundtube RS31-EZ-T is a low profile pendant-mount speaker designed for 25, 70, and 100 volt applications. The speaker features a 3" full-range polypropylene driver with a butyl rubber surround housed in Soundtube's proprietary Ultra-low profile ZeroReflection ABS enclosure. The RS31-EZ-T is ideal for finished ceiling applications in retail stores, restaurants, conference rooms, educational facilities, and outdoor patio areas.

Enclosure: The RS31-EZ-T housing offers long lasting performance and durability with its Ultra-low profile ZeroReflection enclosure, constructed of injection-molded ABS along with a powder-coated aluminum grill. All components have been weatherized for indoor/outdoor applications and carry a UL1480A rating.

25/70/100 Volt: Designed for distributed systems, the RS31-EZ-T includes a 20 watt transformer housed in the mounting plate. Six terminals on a Euroblock connector provide the various tap settings for each voltage with a convenient legend identifying each. The Euroblock terminals can accept speaker wire from 22 - 14 gauge in size. The following tap settings are available with NO option for 8Ω bypass:

25V: 0.2W, 0.4W, 0.7W, 1.3W, and 2.5W
70V: 1.3W, 2.5W, 5W, 10W, and 20W
100V: 2.5W, 5W, 10W, and 20W

Installation: The speaker utilizes an all-in-one ceiling mount system designed to retrofit in most j-boxes. A mounting plate, with two integrated 1" screws, mounts the plate to the junction box (not included) and houses the transformer for the speaker. An 8.5' cable suspends the speaker from the mounting plate. The cable can be adjusted to the proper height at the mounting plate and all excess cable can be wrapped around the mounting plate for storage, keeping it hidden. A cover plate is provided to hide the mount, transformer, and any excess cabling. The top of the speaker includes a built-in stabilizing arm that's also clamped to the suspended cable adding extra support and strain-relief for the cable. A 12" safety cable is included on the mounting plate which gets attached to either the j-box or a ceiling stud for added safety.

Can these also connect to an 8ohm amp or only 70v?

These speakers are not compatible with 8 ohm amps. If you are looking for commercial audio speakers that can be used with such an amp, I recommend contacting an advisor on 1-800-315-2758 to get a personal recommendation.
